Life for a soul is
  more than a mere,
Fast, fleeting moment
  spent idly here.
Brilliantly beautiful,
  lightning – so quick,
Then long ever after,
  its rumbles roll thick.

So, when Heaven forever
  calls a soul home,
It flees before ashes,
  stacked stones, or deep loam.
Transcending the realms
  of grief, pain, and time,
From this mortal coil,
  it gently unwinds.

Arriving unbroken,
  undying, anew,
Abiding eternally,
  healthy, and true,
The spirit wields deftly
  a colossal glass
So slowly sand slips through:
  eternities pass.

the sky opened up and rain spilled onto my fractured back. drops of water slipped through the tiny cracks, traveling through my body to mix into my blood. the thunder clapped in my ears with a loud thud, shaking the organs shielded by my rib cage. the lighting struck with intensity and rage, sending jolts of electricity through my veins. heavy pellets of water slammed into the windowpanes, shattering the glass and leaving cuts on my hands. the trees crashed to the forest floor right where i stand.

and in all of this catastrophe, i only thought of you.
of your lips against my neck,

your hands on the small of my back,

your eyes meeting mine in the darkness of night,

your i love you’s which were spoken without any words at all,

your beautiful smile that bandaged my bruised heart,

but most of all, i thought of how you used to carry some of the weight too.
i miss you.

The smell of rain hung heavy in the air
The clouds where not quite black but the darkest of gray
Your foot falls seemed lighter like the approaching storm was lifting your worries and care
I had to ask you why for most cower in their houses on days like today
You gave me that sweetest grin,  not often seen
You where so amused at my puzzled look
You knew no words could explain what it means
Not even if it was wrote in a book

So you took me out in the middle of the storm
I had to admit at first I was frightened,  Thunder booming and lighting flashing
But with the rain glistening on your face with every bolt of lighting,  you simply said this is my norm
The rain is like my tears, like the lighting I only see small flashes of the light, and in my head the agony is always crashing

Come dance with me in the rain
Come dance with me in the storm
Come dance with me through the pain
Come dance with me and be transformed

I hold glass bottles to the sky
In thunderstorms,
I go home and shelf them for light.
I crawl up and back into you
In thunderstorms
and wrap in warmth till I can't breathe.
Drown me
In thunderstorms;
Hold my head down inside your veins.
Your goosebumps hug me to you, snug,
In thunderstorms
When I find asylum under
Your thumb.
In thunderstorms,
I love you again. Just for a while,
While my mind pours columns of cold,
In thunderstorms
That hang over my head and haunt
Me with self-doubt till I stress out.
In thunderstorms,
I watch the rain drip down my brain
And cut through ice and chloroform.

A storm haunts the summer night.
The thunder cracks and makes you shiver,
Making your muscles tight.
Flowers begin to wither.

The thunder cracks and makes you shiver
The lightning takes your breath away.
Flowers begin to wither,
As fear lingers and stays.

The lightning takes your breath away,
Making your muscles tight.
As fear lingers and stays,
A storm haunts the summer night.

The scorching of the sun diminished
Black clouds fluffed up the skies
Thunders and lightning hit the drums of change
New winds have traversed in
And the trees danced to their gushy choir
Pearls of rain drops fell down to earth
And the sands have welcomed them with joy
Behold! I have arrived.
The monsoon said.

The electrical energy that powers a city
Fridges, happy songs, and lighting so pretty.
That same electricity that powers our lives, can destroy a home in the blink of an eye.
A bolt of electricity thrusts through the sky. The home is destroyed, they’re lucky to be alive.
Is it better to feel pain than nothing at all?
Is it worth the tears of rain that inevitably fall?
The lightning has struck and only a drizzle remains.
The home is now ******, and they’re left sizzled with disdain.
But had they not built that house, in fear of regression,
they would have been left in a life of sorrow and depression.
They will cry, they will mourn, they will ***** and they will scorn,
But when the sun rises tomorrow there will be no more storm.
They’ll reset, they’ll rebuild, better than ever before.

Earth shattering claps
Water pelting the concrete
Matching my heartbeat
Random thoughts from a thunderstorm last night.

I was the first raindrop
On your once rosy cheek
Masking teary eyes in a downpour
Some part of you must have known
The agony to exist only between the clouds
Lightning striking at every touch
And every breathe drawing thunder
But still, you loved the rain
From the silence before a storm
And still moments of peace
Before my wrath wreaked havoc
Can you blame me?
To be here and gone with the wind
Just a sojourner, taking the world by storm
Living each moment one droplet at a time
As you dry your eyes
I fade into the clouds
Waiting to fall once more, to live.
