White Goddess
by Michael R. Burch

White in the shadows
I see your face,
unbidden. Go, tell

Love it is commonplace;
tell Regret it is not so rare.

Our love is not here
though you smile,
full of sedulous grace.

Lost in darkness, I fear
the past is our resting place.

Published by Carnelian, The Chained Muse, Poetry Life & Times, A-Poem-A-Day and in a YouTube video by Aurora G. with the titles “Ghost,” “White Goddess” and “White in the Shadows”

Keywords/Tags: White, Goddess, ghost, shadows, spirit, Muse, love, regret, sedulous, grace, face, common, commonplace, rare, darkness, past, grave

you are fumbling about
sonar disabled
looking for a direction

everyone can see
where this is going
and it's not pretty

we wait
the friendship net outstretched
for your fall
from grace

It's a perfectly rational human response to feel anxious,
to weep, to stare into space and imagine the worse.

It's a perfect human response to take a breath,
to be kind to ourselves and be supportive of each other.

We're not perfect,
but with God's good grace we'll give it a go.
What with one thing or another - we're seeing the best and worse of human nature.

everytime I saw your face,
I thought I saw beauty and grace.
You put a spell on me
and made me think I was in a better place.
I thought I needed you, but suddenly, it's so clear to see. All I need is me.

We ring bells
Clap our hands
Pray and give thanks

To doctors and nurses
Vegetable sellers
Delivery boys
Tourists and travelers
Urban poor
Rural rich
Railways and buses
Security personnel
Customs officials
Airlines and stewardesses
Everybody, everywhere

May they be safe
May peace prevail

In all hearts with fear
In all eyes with tears
May they be safe
May peace prevail

May love encircle
Our blue planet
Once more
With life
Enfolded
In her gentle grace.
Our country is in curfew today and at 5 pm our Prime Minister asked everybody to stand outside their houses and ring bells and clap hands to applaud and encourage all front line personnel

What does it take?
To sit in silence

What does it take?
To inhale a breath of love

What does it take?
To hug the universe

What does it take?
To breath out peace to all

What does it take?
To accept this moment,
As it is.

A deep breath
A smile
A single drop of gratitude

All is well and always will be
In Grace Eternal

Everyone fell in love
With your beauty and grace.
But no one saw the tears
That streamed down your face.
Because people only see
What they want to see.
"If that's true," you ask,
"Does that mean you wanted
To see me cry?"
"Not at all, my dear.
I just think emotion is beautiful.
And when you are willing to show
An emotion like crying,
It proves there's more to you
Than meets the eye."

.
In a forest clearing deep in wood,

I spied the grace of doe and fawn

An’ stopped my track as any should,

To set my gate about face in song.
