Far from the sea,
I see you lurking,
Wondering how a fracture of a stone glowing so bright,
You can’t even break it through.

That’s when you realize,
Even the deadly one can shine so bright,
Bright enough to show that it’s alive,
Alive with hope and dreams.

We used to spill colors in the good days
Now we reminisce in small conversations
Heaven came, at least it seemed that way
Cover my outline in a rainbow creation
I could have sworn I glowed for a second
Now living in the moment feels more precious
It’s crazy where everyone came and went
From where we started to where we end
I’m writing this before I write the poem/piece. I’m just gonna put some stuff down and see what comes.

Basking in the glow of a lacerated sun
Dripping blessed rays, life pools in an agonising emptiness.
Smile upon me with your godless grace
Light of life, prying open a necrophyte visage
Spotlight upon a murderous parade
Of life and happiness. Always watching with
Catastrophic intent and purging flame.
Behold the beacon of rage as it rips
At your vision. Blinding illumination.
A scar in the sky.
Cataclysmic vista.

The moon was neither
voiced into creation
nor was it defined.

It was just parted
from the dark ink
of God’s voice.

Alphabets don’t
exist on dark vellum
just illuminated papyrus.

God doesn’t have the power
to banish those things
that have always existed.

He can’t create the perfect night
just pull crows out of it,
really, the simplest of magic tricks.

The small orifice below the cheekbones
exists to project the whiteboard
scribblings of the human mind.

Man is sad because he knows
that his words and thoughts
fall short of God’s magnificent language.

The moon witnesses what
is below and above its light
and keeps both their secrets.

I thought it was my own glow
Turns out I was just reflecting your light
Never lit up, now I know
But I started to burn when I held tight

I wanted to stay in the heat
So I returned to you each night
And in the shadows where we'd meet
I became the match you'd ignite

It was the challenge that had lit my fire
It was the chase that had made me flush
And it was that phenomenal desire
Which shook my knees and made me blush

I was glowing white hot with you near
You were my star in the dark, you see
But you fell, and my light disappeared
It all happened so suddenly
Losing you was as I'd feared
And I was left with only me..

let the water from the falls flow
it might be a bit slow to see the glow
know this is the low of the flow
that there will be a grow
.so hold on tight, babygirl.
let my destiny be showed

absent
in a soft glow
I find myself asleep
lightly gripping
a shadow
laying down, I see
the perfect outline
before dawn
it seems to glow
and I find you
before you disappear
into the daylight

To the girl who lit up a dark alleyway
The butterflies in my stomach won't stop
I do not know how, nor I wish to make it stop
If you're a streetlight that'll guide me
Is it rude to ask you to glow and stay longer?
We lose a part of ourselves as we go to grow
Dimly-lit path, everyone feels like a stranger
But you look familiar with that smile of yours
Suddenly, I almost thought it was a new morning
You're not a shining star watching from far away
You're a firefly, making the most of borrowed time
But don't ever stop lighting up a dark alleyway
An everglow, you are what makes it worth the time

Cocoa, caramel, chocolate or coffee
Cinnamon, cedar, copper or toffee
Tell me what’s your shade queen?
So beautiful and brown!

Hickory, cedar, pecan or gingerbread
With your warm silky undertones.
Are they yellowish or red?

Peanut, brunette, umber or brown
Whichever shade, you wear it well,
Embrace your melanin crown!

Bronze, copper, mahogany or wheat
Sienna or sepia it’s such a mystery!

Whatever shade you are, you should know you wear it well!
Skin so deep, your shades so dope, your melanin’s smooth as hell!
