Deaths' best friend
Is but Himself
The Reaper has no love
For anyone else

You wish for something
That wants you not
But will accept the life
You forgot

In His hands
You would sleep
If willingly you allowed Him
To reap

Do not fall,
Stay awhile
With me walk that
Extra mile
Love you <3

There's more if you want - an unending supply,
love, from the heart as big as the sky,
you're equipped to deal with stars and diamonds,
look too hard and you will find no reasons

My mother always wished for generous arms,
brothers and sisters queueing to take turns,
I did not wish because I already had -
my surroundings, my castle, my very own dad

There were outings, love and ice-cream,
an aura like nothing that you've ever seen;
now it's not enough - who is in denial?
perhaps after all we were only on trial

You can take over your soul if you dare,
where is it written that anything is fair?

You always called me your Queen
And said you would be my King
But in the end, I was just the Joker;
I suppose that makes you the Jack-***,
So please kiss my Ace goodbye.

She snaps a picture:
They shine like blood diamonds,
A million come,
A million gone,
Lost in the individual masses,
A sea of black faces
With suffering in the eyes.
Displaced for rocks,
Displayed as a photo
In a page,
In a doctor's office
And the white man shakes his head.
His name is called,
And the magazine will stay for years,
Just a photo with no memory.
To those still suffering genocide in Africa, those suffering in masses, we ignore the truth like a magazine visited.

So long, my love
For how the sky cries
For how my eyes do

So long, my love
Not diamonds, not even stars
Are more precious than you

So long, my love
My hands, they bleed
And my heart does, too

So long, my love
You taught me that strength
Can be true

So long, my love
Leave my darkness
I need your aura to beam through

So long, my love
Oh my love, it will last
Deep forever, for you.

She can cut diamonds.

There will always be
Some hard elements
Scattered along the way
But she will be at it
Because she can cut diamonds.
This is the write-up I submitted for my Med School yearbook.

Streaming down
like a flowing river
on your perfect
rose colored cheeks
are the tears that
glisten and shine
from sadness and
pain throbbing
through your
broken body.
Tears like the
most gorgeous
diamonds filled
with despair and
lost hope.
