As he walked about the world, it fell to shambles around him.

Buildings crumbled, the sky fell, the ground tremored beneath his feet.

He'd rub his temples, blink his eyes, and scream within his mind.

Then it would all reform, destruction undone before his eyes.

He'd walk about his world again and it would all fall to shambles.

my heart throbs with every breath.
bodies hit the ground one by one,
and i am left with the smell of copper and sulfur
swimming in my nostrils.
fevered with fatigue,
and twisted with despair,
i run;
i run till my legs go weak,
till my lungs shriek,
till the tears in my eyes run dry,
and i am held captive on this road of brutal ******
and merciless destruction.

there is no refuge,
no safe haven -
just hollow spirits
combined with empty caverns
where organs used to reside.
gunshots echo in my ears,
am i really here?
why is the smoke swallowing me whole?

i have no home,
so i hide;
i trip over emaciated fragments
of my family,
hesitating to hold them.
where's the hope?
im back.

anyhow,
this poem is about the Rwandan Genocide. i wrote this a couple years back, when i was still in high school.
I haven't  been to the future

Nor I had seen it,

But had seen the destruction

Not construction only destruction.

In my nightmares

I'd seen creatures roaming there

In desperation  with no good

No friends, no brotherhood.

Killing each  other and no one's  lover

Only destruction  no construction

What If It  comes here

Haunting in my nightmares.

Only black clouds with the

Thunder aloud.

No river flows no farmer's  ***

But everyone shivers in hope of a good morrow.

Yes it is destruction

Today everything  is a distraction

But the future  is destruction

No bird flying only people dying

No songs are heard only people were murdered.

So, I asked them who had done this and how to stop this?

They said

'we and you can't stop this cause it is destruction '

All will perish
Under the seething,
callous fright.
The insanity within.

A relentless force,
Though cunning and quiet.
A shadow lies
Awaiting its time

Seethe.
         Seethe.
                 Seethe.

Adrenaline
Excitement
A shiver of thrill.

Ignition
           Ignition
                     Ignition

An ember catches
And sets the world ablaze
But the shadows...
The shadows remain

Destruction
            Destruction
                        Destruction

Everything will fall
As the end draws ever close
None can hide
And none are spared

Wail my name in anguish,
cry out in desperate agony,
shriek through silenced mouths,
and I shall burn your spirit to cinders.

We each took turns writing a verse at a time while aiming to keep an organic, spontaneous feeling.

there is a burning world
outside of your gated community.

your white picket fences
can't block out the flames forever.

why are you ignoring this?

how can you sit there
and close your eyes,
and not hate yourself?

we all know
that you can see the smoke.
this universe is too small for the both of us
no matter how far i run
you are still too close

this destruction is too devastating
it permeates through to my core
so forgive me as i cut this poisonous cord

Destruction breeds creation a man he once told me.
But I'm all deconstructed and this creation I can't see.
I've been seeking shelter, shelter From The Storm.
Because I can't take this battered braking feeling I'm so torn.
Well all I see is bridges and they're burning in my dreams.
While I'm searching for passage to a place I can be free.
So just deconstruct me tear apart my lonely mind.
Desolation and frustration is all in there you'll find.
I'll just batton down my hatches and rosin up my bow.
Cuz the way it's looking we're in for a hell of a storm.
It's getting Wicked with a quickness can't you hear that thunderous roar.
I can't see the road signs I don't know which way I'm going.

The cloth tears
shredding
dust unfurling
circling towards the ground
glinting as the sun slices through the shades
burning on each fleek a final glow
a most mundane silent explosion

The universe tearing apart
scattering the stars at high speeds
rocks tearing through black
turning into space sand
things becoming smaller
So minuscule there’s no word for
what is more minuscule than quarks

It’s contrary then
That quiet even exists
day after day certain things I feel I’m owed
a sense of guaranteed control over my destiny,
when all I am is the shrapnel of the stars
collected together in a precarious cluster
a mathematical anomaly of particles
that settled together
blindly believing they’ll never fall apart.
there's no such thing as nothing

Great, Merciful Destroyer,
your mercy is abundant, overflowing in your devastation
as the dross is cleared

The time of great surrender is here
It is today, now
And, like a lover, I yearn to surrender
I yearn to let go

In your magnificence,
only the raw, unvarnished, pulsating, living truth remains
All else is dross
All else is no-thing
All else is glimmer, not gold

Great Merciful Destroyer,
please give me the courage to witness
the destruction that creates
that fire that cleanses
the truth that liberates
