The self is the spring of all things—
Of all emotions and feelings,
Of all wonders and dreaming;
Of all horrors and betrayals,
Of all evil and deceptive portrayals.
good and bad both
Cat Lynn Sep 2017
How can we, so small
Expect to win it all
Our minds so full of us
Blind our eyes to the one and only Jesus
Remove our deceptive comfort
That we cling like a favorite toy
The sudden pain of life's adversities carries away our counterfeit joy
For the lies of deceptive comfort only seek to **destroy.

Still lying in bed
Thoughts of you still going through my head
Why did you carry it on so long
If all you was gonna do was do me wrong
You knew I was already broken
Did you need my heart as a token
Did you want to see if you could make someone die
Rip their soul out and make them cry
I hope karma does her job
I hope you are the next to sob
The only thing I did was love you
But you made me pay those dues
I've got to pull myself togeather
But lay in bed is what I'd rather
But I have a job and bills
Despite my depressive ills
I want the pain to stop
But it seems to be all I've got
Guess I'll just go back to my old life
No love, no strife
All those months wasted
All of the love I tasted
You threw me away in just one message
Without even a hint of presage
Can anyone save me
I'm going down and I don't mean maybe
Send my spirit to the sky
I just want to die

she is
a pretty little flower
but beware
of the poison
that runs deep
in her roots.

You're beautiful,
just like a poisonous flower.
So my eyes betray me,
and I crave just a taste.
I reach out for the brightest berry,
and you wrap me in your arms.
Deceptively sweet,
growing with each dose I intake.
But I consume too much of you,
and I overdose;
falling victim to a beautiful death.

Mystifying Chaos Nov 2015
Everyone pretends to be a saint in the daylight.
But, when the lights go off and the darkness overtakes,
Their hidden demons crawl out and play.

Because heaven is full
And hell won't have me
I've been put in a place much worse
A place called earth

At least in hell I know everyone has bad intentions
But on earth you'll trust people who you think are kind
But just turn out to be sinister and cruel
The type of people who thought to have
Good intentions

Like vanilla spice
And as sweet as chocolate
Her lips were nice
But the rest was poison
She'll be plotting your demise
As you're hypnotized

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time;

We have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.

We've split the atom, but not our prejudice.

We write more, but learn less.

We plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.
Found it :)
