don’t be thrown into society’s wildfire,
along with the scrubs of existence,
that are deemed unworthy.
don’t be holding onto the ash of the past,
the scent of burnt reluctance signifies an end.
run from the smoke,
into the blistering sun,
into the pouring rain.
leave the toxins behind,
because the fire rages on,
unaffected by your escape.

You call me a *****
You say you want me to die in a ditch
Well I don't know what I did
Love towards me was forbid
I shut you out
You never shut your mouth
My wrists are bleeding
My heart is screaming
But you you just stand there watching
I'm tearing down
I'm leaving town
I don't know who I am
But whoever I am your not a fan
I'm never good enough
I'm packing my stuff
No stay you scream and plead
Then you turn around and hit me
You call me a ****
Compare me to a mutt
Now you wonder why I overdose once a
day
My life is filled with hate
But the hate is like a drug
One feeling of warm fuzzy hug
The drug is the hug that bring me to tears and hopes no one ever comes near
I need to get myself away from here
I struggle with my own problems
To half to take care of you on top of them is like a dog caring for its owner
I guess I'm like a dog no wait you might say I'm a bit lower
So here is my apology no wait just kidding
I think I was just fibbing
I should thank you in stead
Thanks for trying to hit me in the head
Thanks for making me scream for making my wrists bleed for watching me die then just adding to the pain by cutting up my emotions with your lies
Yeah you were always sly until you walk right up and said ok ***** it's time for you to die
I just laughed and said no girl it's been you messing with my head
Sorry ***** but I'm already dead
That night I took too many pills now I was in for the ****
I hopped right into my car drove to the train tracks
Ready to be attacked
This next rhyme is an effing fact
If the ***** ain't got her dog
She is gonna disappear in the fog
The shadow that's been killing me for years
Oh lucky me the train is almost here
Grown near for my last stop
Laying on the tracks
The train threw a little honk
Then I felt it
I was nothing but a memory
Come puppy sit
But ***** don't you know I can play dead  too watch me your bond to loose.
Not based of a true story.

Depression is only a figment of the past
So remove yourself from its intoxicated dark magic
And relive your life once again.
*I hope to all of you that are in this state, breaks free from this mental insanity. You deserve to live life, you deserve to be yourself again.*
AJ James Sep 2015
"Hypothetically,"  hypocrisy has become the new democracy.
Socrates once said "You must break free from society",
Admittedly, that is not a direct quote.

Woe, oh, no I do not believe in aligning my stars
with your sharp minded attitude that controls me from afar.
Hardships ahead suggest that you best let go of your
previously consumed ideals and feelings and repeal from
the concave society that begs us to encourage our propriety.

Sigh, it seems that this community of this city
is stuck in a trance and they do not wish to be disturbed.
Well I'm perturbed by that fact, yet I act like I understand
the zombie-like trance that has taken hold of all that are breathing,
Leaving only a few confounded by the monstrosity of this reaping.

Keep me here, away from the stagnant ailment that has
an arrant grip on the throats of the blokes that were
ignorant enough to believe that indiscretion.

True, it's become my obsession to call out all that is nonsensical.
It's apocalyptical! Their anonymity is frankly mystical.
Their words seem to be lathed with mechanical phrases and verbs,
again I'm perturbed and what's even worse, is I find myself intrigued by their complete lack of identity that I can't make sense of me.

See? It's a seductive prospect to attempt to project yourself into
that cult, but as a result all your visions of freedom will dither
and wither into nothingness.

Although, they're courteous enough to let you keep your vanity,
but the rest of you, all your thoughts of clean and lucid dreams, are
reamed from your mind, wound down to a soft and empty grind.

My, you really should ignite a morsel of self-respect to check out
of this direct fog that is hogging any last bit of intellect.
Dissect one thought from the other and then you'll wonder
how to crawl out of this ignorant hole that has
swallowed you down, consuming your soul.

Pull yourself away from their depreciating ways.
Reintroduce yourself to free will and thoughts
so you can be brought back to life and maybe even have
a deeply un-contrived and well-thought about thought.

Be wise, snap back into reality and let gravity do it's job.
Throb goes your heart.
Did you feel that? That puncture in your chest?
It's doing it's best to let you know that you're alive,
high with breath on your tongue and in your lungs,
Filled to the seams, light beams from your fingers.

Do not linger, here in this moment, rush to the surface
and escape the airless lies that are encrusting your soul.
Pull yourself up to the surface and allow yourself to be woken.

Broken you may be, but you can be renewed if you give yourself
permission to control your own admission.
So permise it and recommit to standing on your own two feet
and weep with joy at your eternal freedom.

This is where I leave you.
Alone with your lonesome self...
Relish in your new-found magnum opus,
let it give you focus to hone in on your blooming
and lucid, conscious brewing.

Keep it stewing.
Stirring to formalize your new ignition,
no longer is this a road to your perdition.
Ridden your thoughts, let your conformity rot
and let that *** stew all of your now, new
delectable thoughts.

She once dreamed of a life
But never had she lived it
So came a time she gave birth to a life
and promised her baby will live it

The child lived her life
continuing her mother's broken dream
But never had she owned a single dream of her own
because the child was too busy
living that person's old broken dream
live your own life, not other's old dreams

We’re just peasants can’t you see?
This is our society
They love to keep us dumb and fat
So they can exploit all we have
I’m sick of bigots and their lies
I’ll jump off now and hope to fly
To a place that will show me
All of its sincerity

I thought I could handle this
because I thought I’d seen it all before
I thought I knew the patterns
I thought I’d be okay when you walked through the door

I thought I could manage the fights
and the hate and the anger
because I expected it before it even began
I thought I was prepared for the happy never after

I waited for the bad
I didn’t even bother hoping for the good
momentary bliss
is what I was in it for

but when you told me last night
that I didn’t mean a thing
when you told me last night
that all this was a fling
when you smiled that beautiful smile
and turned me into flames
when you looked me straight in the eyes
and told me it was all a silly game

“oh”
I realized
*“he’s a whole new kind of heartbreak”
// again, based off of a conversation that occurred at 4am last night //

Locked away
placed in the dark
Emotions sway
unable to break through the arc
Stuck day by day
in a closed park
Held captive no way out
from the start
Unable to feel
too many chains rapped around my heart
No appeal
stuck like groceries in a shopping cart
Draw within the lines
immovable like canvas art
Can't get out of the music
just a replay of a track
Need a remix
a new beginning a new stack
Open the door
shatter the glass from the cracks
Just a moment away
getting a new life to live
But its all fake
that's why I'm still held captive

She left me confused
Did I push her away?
How do I hold on? How do I make her stay?

Like a dying man holding onto his last breath
I hold fast to her
But she slips away in the middle of the night

Yesterday is gone, today is here
Me
The dark has always been part of me,
it still is
and forever will be.
I try to break free of its touch,
Only to
Realize its me.
I am the daekness which lives within me,
We are one
Its true all can see.
