You find patterns
in everything
and I am just beginning to notice this about you.

You watch documentaries,
and tell me all about them.

One was about
a nanny turned photographer
capturing strangers
mid-conversation-

I like your summaries
better than the stories themselves.

Someday, you, too
will take great photographs
and the world will know your name
before you're deceased.

I'm sure of it.

We walked through a field of glowing grass,
and you tried to touch each blade.

It began to rain,
I wiped a stray droplet onto your nose
and kissed your eyelids.

You laughed at me,
tried to annoy me,
hold my hand in different ways,
push me
off the sidewalk-

I stepped in dog ****
but you insisted
it was human...

I listened to you spin your story
and was reminded of how lovely
it is to peer inside your mind-

My glasses broke tonight
and yet I haven't seen this clearly
in what feels like forever.

I'll tell you "let's do this,"
this time, without any liquor
if it means I'll prove my devotion
to you
and this time
we have together.

I don't care what you call me,
or who knows I exist,

as long as you keep kissing me
with as much electricity
as I felt when I first met you.
Thank you.

shamed for showing too much
shamed for not showing enough
over ****** warrants being called a ****
not ****** enough and I’m called a *****
so what am I supposed to do?
never leave the comfort of my judgement free home?
oh wait, that’s not true
mainstream media bashing the idea of individuality
sure they say they support it
but if they really did
would we, constantly, see the same features, plastered on magazines?
trends change quickly
and my body sure as heck can’t keep up
that’s okay though,
I was never one to conform to the societal standard
the thick thighs, “fat ***”, skinny waist, and *******
that I’m supposed to have,
but am supposed to cover up?
I’m sorry but if I had been “blessed” with those physical attributes
I would not be so eager to cover them up
and is “blessed” even the right word to describe
what so many women have come to despise?
large chests that cause back pains,
the unwanted attention and ****** comments?
maybe they aren’t so blessed,
but are rather cursed
that in a society like ours
we are taught to hate ourselves no matter what
instead of embracing the unique beauty that we are gifted
rather than celebrate the intricate details of our souls
and the crazy two A.M. thoughts that run through our minds
the stunning stream of consciousness that separates us from the rest
but unfortunately,
we have assimilated into one
bland society,
where variety is shunned
and everyone is the same
//two AM outrage\\

Don't ever let any one tell you that you're not beautiful.

You are a most precious gem,
beautiful in nature, unique in design.
One of which all men are hoping to find
A gem that should be strung on a necklace
and kept close to the heart,
Yet necklaces are often only seen in part.

Perhaps you should be on the band of a ring
on a hand like a string,
reminding everyone of your glorious beauty,
Yes for all the world to see the treasure that you be.

But hands are often, time and again
bound to get ***** now and then.
No, not on necklace nor a ring can
all your beauty be on display.
If there was something I could do,
if I could just find a way.

Perhaps on the ear you can hang,
          where no dirt will be
But lo, there is hair and hair blocks
the beauty the world needs to see.

Where can I put a gem like you?
Necklace, ring, and earring all won't do
So where can I display a beauty like you?

At last only one place remains,
(Though your beauty I could never contain)
In a case, behind glass, on a stand made of brass,
where dirt nor hair get in the way
where your beauty can be put on display.

Then the world may know what treasure have I,
to hold such a gem as yourself makes me one blessed guy.

Blessed love of mine,
Blasted is the wind tonight,
Take me, Hold me,
Blessed love of mine,
Tonight.

The half moon, Bright,
Grins malisciously, Ferry me,
Upon an open arm
Into your harbour wide.

Until the storm is over
And calm again this cruel sea,
Blessed love of mine,
Take me, Hold me.

Wash the salt away
Which bites and pierces this ****** wound,
Cleanse the wrecked soul rolling
In the savage swell.

Blessed, Oh blessed tonight,
Blasted is the wind,
Blessed love of mine.

I Lied and still lying
I Stole something, more important than a thing
I Killed someone but only in my mind
And in HIS eyes it is already ******
I am a sinner, yesterday and today
Yet, I'm still having an Unconditional Love of yours

Within my darkened hour
I lay upon my bed and cower
Waiting on the Grim Reaper to devour
I was waiting on that darkest beast
But Death wisps in and gently sealed my lips with a kiss of sweet release
And I become one of the blessed deceased

You love me
even when I'm
not worth loving.
You love me
knowing all that
I've done.
You love me
even though I
am a daisy and
not a rose.
You love me
when I'm not as
bright as the sun,
but as dark as
thunder clouds.
You love me
for me and I've
never been so
blessed.

Some people say
Why should I believe in him,
When I could do so much more
He cast away all my sins
Once he opens that door.

They say that
Why should you trust in God,
Your faith is good, until it's gone,
Which is why I held on
It's God's grace is what made me strong.

Whenever I cry, or weep,
Sigh,or scream,
I still believe.

Whenever I blame,
Put myself to shame,
Or even go insane
I still believe.

I'm with God and I'm never leaving
No matter what I'm feeling,
I know he's worth believing
I promise to keep up the faith,
Even if I make a mistake
The Lord will make me over again.
God has blessed me this week, which makes impossible for me to loose my faith in him.

so I passed by this gentleman today at the park & through his broken English came to find out he is from Germany, East Berlin to be exact...his name is Hans. I asked him how he came to Michigan & he began telling me his story, you could see him travel back in time right before your very eyes. He and his wife, Hannah, kept watch over the guards near a section of the wall that was near some summer cottages. At night the 'women' from town would 'entertain' the officers in the foliage, so they put whatever they could fit in their baby stroller, draped as much clothing on themselves as they could manage, & by the grace of God one night the baby did not cry & they were able to run to freedom to West Berlin. He went on to describe how he came first to Canada & then upon hearing of the higher wages in Detroit, came to live in Sterling Heights. It's funny when I asked him & a lady from Poland the day before where they were from, they both said "well from here" despite their obvious accents...home is indeed Michigan for them both now...& for Hans, he's never returned to East Berlin.

*when you see an older person, take the time...I assure you, you will never leave disappointed.
