Love is a butterfly
That looks beautiful
From afar.
It's wild, it's free,
It's undoubtedly happy.
Some try to catch it,
Others simply watch it.
And I, like the rest
Was curious.
Perhaps too curious
For my own good.

Love is a butterfly
That looks beautiful
From afar
Though ugly
Very ugly
When you get too close,
Believe me.

Words with ink
         Have not gotten me far
    They may have
            touched souls
   But they've left
              on my heart
      An unshakable scar
                 Cut up
            and bruised
A flaming meteoroid
       Calling itself a
    shooting star
Yet nothing more
     Than a
        disinegrating rock
Falling too far
         These
     words I rhyme
Simply show my only value
              Through this
I know
          where you are
      Falling from space
Into nothingness
            My shooting star
     Finally a remedy
           Healing
     the brokenness
               Of a
            love from afar

From afar, I look at him
In a crowded place, my eyes search for only him;

From afar, I listen as he starts talking
It sounds like angels singing;

From afar, I see his smile as he walks by
It feels like I am lifted up high in the sky;

From afar, I will love him with all my heart
Even though it seems like we are worlds apart;

From afar, I feel like he is mine
Wishing our hearts would someday intertwine;

From afar, I dream of him
And I know it is only there that I will have him
'Coz I know this is just a one sided love
His love, I cannot have.

I'm scarred to admit this but -
I think we made a mistake.
I know that something's are better left unsaid
and that this is a huge risk to take
But I don't think things are going so great.
I don't know if I'm the only one feeling this way -
or if you see it too.
Sometimes I think that we would be doing better
if we had never been together.

Just know that I will love you forever,
I just feel that loving you from afar would be better.

Written on the back of an envelope

The truest bliss you impart upon me
sends a shiver down each column of my spine,
etching track marks over all my body,
a drug no-one can perfect or refine.
Your visage leaves lightning bolts on my eyes
and a heart palpitating in my chest.
Your body silhouetted in night skies
melts my deepest poetry to mere jest.
When we touch, it smashes my composure
into oblivion and far beyond.
When we lock eyes, I'm chilled from exposure
but for certain, only I feel this bond.
Although I strive for a day we would meet,
with the others, I could never compete.
Sonnets are my newest fascination, even in Iambic Pentameter. I'll try to post more than one daily.

her lips were as red as the blood dripping from a fresh wound.
they were as dark as anger and as passionate as love.
they ignited fires, if only under his skin.
they glistened in the light, as she swept her tongue across.
they were all he wanted, all he aspired for.
he watched her painted lips form the soft p's and round o's
of their everyday language.
he watched her lips pull back with sheer happiness
and he found himself grinning along with her.
she took something so common, like pouting with distaste,
and made it so astonishingly glorious.
again, part of a story I wrote told in poetry.

her hair splayed down her back
like pieces of the night stitched together
and threaded delicately in to her scalp.
it appeared to be as soft as a goose's feather
and he just wanted to run his fingers through
her glorious locks.
the contrast was bright and worth a second look
