Do not be afraid
She heard him say
“I am here to hold you dear”
Her stillness became acquiescence to her still
It’s nice to have you home for Christmas they may say
But her heart knows the better
The disgrace was still the footnote.
The night wind made a faint whisper
Telling her over and over
The time has come and gone
Forget the pain of evermore.
Dancing took her to a time
Her feet would fly and fly
Sweeping steps of every beat
To see those days that would go by;
Just to remember his words so dear
To clear her mind of pain
The slightest motion of his hand
To kiss the smiles she must be;
The sound reverberated through the crisp autumn air
Klung, klung, klung of the wood
Reminding her he was there.
She remembers his words.
As the faint breeze lifted her veil
But the face she saw was the one captured of long ago;
With black skirts and pine needles that she wrote
The songs were sung to her heart
Etched forever more this day
With colored hair ribbons all so new
Ponytails askew;
He took her hand to strange places that were so few
On Saturday nights to kiss the kiss
She remembers the words he spoke
The bell tolled once and then twice she heard
Sound exploded and glass flew.
As her life fell around her like needles ever so slightly,
The pain of it all so gone
Just to remember the words he spoke;
The farther and farther he tolled
The longer and longer she was gone
So now the years have passed
The pain is as she remembers
And the WORDS HE SPOKE
Was so light
That it still tore her heart.

AS SHE REMEMBER HIS WORDS THIS NIGHT.

Collective Power
A face of the turbulent Storm of the forest

Mysterious, emotional paradox

Unmovable sentry, as the face has power

Magnificent Leaf of destruction

Unrestrained, collective power, arrogant

Is the face, in the leaf,  in the secret hollow

Isolation pulls the soul to ancient dreams

Of faces of the branded child

With eyes wide open in silence

Talons of the sacred leaf

Of the face that pulls souls

To their doom in the morrow

Escaping the dimensions and hollows

Treacherous motes and rescue no

Where loneliness guides them  to shadowed forests

Where legends fall as he waits in the face in the leaf

In the howling winds in the talisman majesty

Where eagles soar, in the forest in the leaf

In its collective power...

Watch Your Hearts
Keep them fenced in.. someone might want to steal your precious life.. with pretty words, phases of love, lots of lies hoping and wanting..... but do not believe.......
Move me no more, I say to you, with each sparkling star that is stored for me... consuming all the elements of things to come.. beyond the human concept of the beauty of love.

Nothing can escape
sweet splendor
essence of beginnings
in the book of songs
world spoken of holy love
with a thousand veils
sun turns and shine bright
but still my heart holds
to midnight.*

Memories
As the windows break
upon our lips
heaven gives us forever
more.....
....
these hills undress our minds
stars worn upon our hearts
are memories
of ours....

such happiness rules
within our space
of love ...

as our memories
take over the hurts and pain
only you can mend
this lovely day

you bring light
upon this night
as you give love so freely
you open me like a flower

What memories you give
to place in my heart
for years that you have opened
for thousands of times to
come.....

Memories dictate our lives
holds us prisoner
tears flow in perfection
agreeable an obliging
just go away just one night
hold me no more
let me sleep
give me breath
to breathe
with these
memories*

His Kiss
It was a misty moonlight, his caress, I closed my eyes
he  whispered to my spirit, he kissed my silky touch
from Ashe cinders comes our favorite song,
'Love me Tender, love me true'
your mouth needs my ear, holds my very soul
love was flowing on  that misty hot night
his hushed caress kissing my velvet high,
as I  breathed the aroma of him
I shivered with his sweet lovers secret
that I knew so well.....it rushed to my staggering heart
serenading my mind, he fully altered me
excited panic rushed to my feet, telling him to chase me
catch me  if he can...
after the little game of hide and seek
our bodies moving like lightning, as he forced me
held facing the wall, was my mighty man
He is my golden dream that I came to know so well
the rainbow that shown over our very heads
our feelings blowing in the wind
a gentle wind blew on our hot faces,
yes we were two lovers on a mighty trail.....
These are real feelings of falling in love under the moonlight so fare and what music was playing do you still relate that song to that night?

Pale Heart
Pale Heart..
It’s a pale paler heart
I may have
There is no reason
not to love
The proof is plain to see
Would you let me be?
So paint me white
This very day
I feel I've grown since then
Let me know why
I see you this way
Words generating
In catacombs of life
Of a deprived time
Struggling to keep sane
In the whiteness of my mind

The sounds of earth
They uplifted me
Back into time
To a lighter shade of
Pale
With a message
I thought
That took me away
To my heart
Into a fantasy
That took me away
To a lighter shade of pale
Brings a pale heart......

Year after Year
Lady of the wandering sea
She was fifteen
When he came wandering by thee
The leaves would fall that very autumn
He saw
The wind blew amongst her hair
She would call
Oh lover, please take me here
Where butterflies are yellow with dawn
Life is green in the spring
Year after year would come
Left time of regrets be sown
In the full strength of years to be
Of the ages of blue diamond’s you'll see
So years would simply breathe one more breath
Lies one more day till death
Simply year after year
When she was sixty three
One more day
Was she*

Wisdom of Wit
Feet are twisted boughs of night
singing books of tremulous joy
man talks in chosen words
pray for wellbeing in final days,
strive to understand secret desire

minds are clipped inside like hair

forget out songs of long lost days ...*

I am attempting at Brevity.. please bare with me.. thanks
Brevity is the Soul of Wit The proverb 'brevity is the soul of wit' means that articulate and intelligent communication (speech and writing) should use few and wisely chosen words. It is associated with the play 'Hamlet,' by William Shakespeare.

In Shakespeare's day, 'wit' principally referred to intelligence, and the essence or soul of being intelligent is to convey your thoughts as briefly and efficiently as possible. Here is the context of the line:

LORD POLONIUS
This business is well ended.
My liege, and madam, to expostulate
What majesty should be, what duty is,
Why day is day, night night, and time is time,
Were nothing but to waste night, day and time.
Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit,
And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief: your noble son is mad:
Mad call I it; for, to define true madness,
What is't but to be nothing else but mad?
But let that go.
(The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark Act 2, scene 2.)

It should also be noted that this phrase is very ironic in the context of the play, as Polonius is anything but brief in his long speeches.
That rainy night

Writing me your heart

Holding the unknown

Like love in the chest

Emotions ran high

As you kept me so tight!

Not knowing what’s to come

Sitting at my window

Imagining I saw you at the gate

Running down the lane to your flying arms

With no plans for tomorrow

With a love so true!

Through oceans of tears

And a broken heart

So incomplete

Knowing we must part!

Promises of love

You would be back soon’

A year went by

Expectations were high!

Waiting for that plane to land

With a letter in hand

You came in a coffin, my love

I stand with tears that are breaking me down from above.!

Now all I have are little pieces of time

Hoping upon hope to find

A little bit of you that is ever so true

In our little boy so new!

You handed me a song from your heart.....*

Nights of Nights
Your golden shadow ranges over me
feeling your love  those mishaps of yesterdays
and maybe tomorrows to come
feeding my expectations of  hands
that would hold mine..

Kissing my breath away , waiting for you to spread signs
before me, laying your seeds of want
that is place delicately before my need of you
standing here begging you to want me
with my wistful eyes of light...

Should I move  upon my heart's whim
listening to your heart of lust
the places you may touch
holds my raging so close
who is this, I say,  may I be wild and free??

Violent blows all through the night
as our bed of prison feels so right
you are the shameful eyes that see through me
in a world of discontented evils
then your soothing voice calms me
in your pleasing sight...

Leading me out of my shameful nightmares
holding the glimpse of hope
I am filled with endless doubts
then the tomorrow's sun beams
On our hearts that beats steadily.....

Looking forward to the night of nights
that you will be there
I can't put my pen down
as I remember your face of sorrow
daily I hear your voice calling....

This will be the nights of nights....*

Certain Summer Rain
It was  a certain summer
A special Rain
A loving moment
That couldn't be bought again
Remembering the love
Asking the how
Rolling in the moment
One last time...

Oh , do you kiss the same?
Do you make love so glorious?
Would you look deep in my eyes one more time?
The same way as you used to do.
That is ripening in your touch.
To slowly touch your face to hold each other so tight
it has been some time ago.
That at the start of one certain summer;
besides we are not so old to be mystified with flowers;
after... the summer rain;‟*

Only three lines, totaling 17 syllables throughout
The first line must be only 5 syllables
The second line must be comprised of 7 syllables
The third line must be 5 syllables like the first
Punctuation and capitalization rules are up to the poet, and need not follow rigid rules used in structuring sentences
Haiku does not have to rhyme, in fact many times it does not rhyme at all
Some haiku can include the repetition of words or sounds

Time to Write
Dreams of Tuscany
With drawn lips
Portrayed like a silver chain
Where hearts surge to follow
Feathers from wings of night
Sits a poet with the stirring of light
Paints a pretty picture
With their words of life
That echoes through their corridors of their mind
Their hearts hold many sorrows riding low in life
Many battles have been won
With their mighty muse
Many blessings to each dear
Poet for all the obstacles
To overcome.

Varied Timbre
Death near
don't open the door
forgotten ruptured sky
sees you and I
riches are impossible
in the blinding dust
vision is beyond the horizon
fighting to win
you back
come close to losing all....

Each selective thought
will bring about
pieces .......
that we will think is love
discarding the rest
in street dust
of many tomorrows to come

It has been years since
you left me so long ago
trying to forget
daily life .... that we loved so
this is the last poem
that l will write
of the pain
you brought about

Time schedules
Timbre slows
so very far
in a varied substance
of liquid foam
as death
knocks
don't open the door.....*

Jane's Pale Heart
It’s a pale paler heart

There is no reason

To part, Jane Eyre

The proof is plain to see

Would you let her be?

A passionate English Orphan

So paint her white

This very day

Let her know why

We see her this way

Charlotte Bronte

Closer she walks

With Emily and Anne

Closer that

We see where your muse's faired

That magically makes

Us free

Is the paler shade of white for thee?*

And Dee

So golden like with rays of golden mist
As a pair of loving birds seem entwined
With visions of beauty adorning eyelashes
He is the only one I see …

With eyes lock in the flame
I transform, morph in his love
With every moment that runs by,
My face blushing hotter as he stares …

His making love to me with his eyes
As I melt into his being, I exhale a heaving sigh…
As he touches my face and travels low
With the lowest of whispers, I murmur now please …

With a rush of electric ripples running through
From head to toe, as he peers deeper in my soul,
There is gentleness as he brushes my face with his,
As his passionate kiss, flows through my release …

______________
*With you standing so close to me
Aromas of your presence wafting with the breeze
Is it possible for a mere human like I
To restrain, pause and wonder why

Even Gods, in your presence
Would forego their piety and prescience
Your love, I catch with the tip of my tongue
That escapes your parted lips with a deep sigh

My eyes firing a staccato of cupid’s arrows
You standing in all your bare glory
The first touch is heaven’s ecstasy
The second, a desire for symmetry

As in fantasized temple’s libations
We climb mountainous manifestations
In a dancing and pirouetting flamenco
Reaching a rhythmic crescendo…

libations is the flow of liquid...as an offering in a temple

Natural Release
Emotions cradle, raw explosive nature
desires of unaware raptures, blood boils
from thoughts exploding in her mind, it rages
through her body,.... her extreme need to be fed...

Her hunger burns like sulfuric acid and eats away her soul
the pure tingling on her skin, that makes her whimper
within his presence, as it warms to the touch as her
hands glide oh so gently that ends at her mouth....

Burning with memory, watering and longing
with the sounds of nature untamed in her ear, holding
so much, her moans for him materialized singing her tune
like two wooden stakes being stroke for a fire, her body molten....

Her lips tremble, she sees him turn, she melts, pulse races
he stands there, her heated ecstasy  smothers, lives
and breathes, the warmth of the earth, sweats drip
on her beautiful creation, in her mind....

Her natural release ....

One Beautiful Day
Good morning, he said
this beautiful day,
here is breakfast in bed
and here is where I want you to stay....

You see this is the first day
of a wonderful life for you and me
you are my angel, my bright shining star
but this day your mine, come what may...

What followed was magic and he held her heart
as he stroke her love, till the darkness bright
what followed next brought tears to her eyes
she had never known pure happiness like that before...

He meant every word, every action too
as he picked her up and made her... his
delight flashed across her face
the electricity that was felt moved their souls...

One beautiful day turned into many more
with lots of good mornings
this beautiful day, telling her over and over
here is where I want you to stay...

He Is Mine
Standing at the road of life

This world had to offer

The world to me

As I surrender to his poetic words

That was held close to my heart

No more nightmares

I beg the night

As he tied off my soul with heartstrings

At last He was there....

Singing my lonely songs

Holding my heart

So close, he stood

At last

The skies above were new....

My heart was there waiting for the dream

Yet words were so inferior

To see the one of mine

Love

Dreams

Today

Maybe we are supposed to be.....

Be mine and only mine

At last

He Is Mine

To My Love
Candle lights in the room
as a poem is born
dressed in white
shadow on her face
that was adored...

Hearts beating fast
happening in clear view
their gentle faces tear a new
whispering I love you...

It wasn't always easy
this life they had
holding  each others hands
with memories that were true...

With their voices
that filled each night
to their dream
that held them tight....

Life goes by
children grow
age falls around them
tears do flow, laughter too....

Their devotion grows
as one passes on
the pen does flow
a poem is born, just one more time..

Silent Nights
One shade of the moon

Had impaired the nameless heart

On ones cheek

Ever so sweetly paired

Tells of days of goodness spent

With ink and pen to write

Ones woes

To sit so lovingly in the know

Wandering lonely in a crowd

The coldness coming over me

Twenty years past my eyes grown weary

Watching not quite so dim’

As these silent nights walk in beauty....

Enemy faints as things remain the same’

Silent night’s strikes the lame

Surrounded in mounds of oceans of grace

O my soul I stand amazed!

Selecting my own society

Till I shut the door from fools

Till I could not see

The fool I had become to be!

Debbie Brooks 2014
"You are the brave who do not break

In the grip of the mob when the blow comes straight’

To the shattered bone; when the sockets shriek;

When your arms lie twisted under your back

Good men holding their courage slack

In their frightened pockets see how weak

The work that is done: and feel the weight

Of your blood on the ground for their spirits sake:

And build their anger, stone on stone:

Each silently, but not alone!"

Divine heavenly sanguinity
blessed prehensile thoughts
of two souls sitting atop floating clouds
basking in sun’s glory.
Travelling as the drift takes us…sometimes
kissing mountain tops or dancing in the vale,
flowing along with the gurgling
stream, touching each pebble so gently
caressing each fern, each shore.
Sea the ultimate destination
merging into nothingness, yet
you and I granted immortality
unending mirth and laughter.
Heaven and earth our abode
Of two bodies and one soul.

Our divine heavenly bodies
bless us with my red rainbow
our two souls floating in the different shades,
translucent of my colors
with sweet rain on our lips
kissing the ultimate of desire,
as we try and stay within the lines
somehow we drift, into the others  being,
with each stroke of your hand
you always bring me back to you
with each touch you transform
my blank canvas to blend with yours
as the red returns back in my soul…

Embracing The Change
Life begin the day I saw you
fluttering around you like a school girl
my wings start to flutter
you slung your net to capture
and I am embracing the change....

You dried away the tears
kissed my heart so nice
having transformed before your very eyes
then I awaken to a million kisses
and I have embraced the change...

You lift me up to your very soul
lick the tips of my toes
sing to me your melody
arising to the morning sun
as I approach I say, I have embraced your change...

The water was soothing to my face
you hold me so very very close
my clothes are shredded
my feet grounded in soft ground
my darling, I am ready for your change...

Walking Along The Vine
So many walk along the skinny vines
scared to look down among the rolling seas of want
are the lives of so many that created their dreams
that was buried inside this body of mine...

We have this shelter above our heads
from auto pilot to cruise control we speed along
being stuck in the rat race from nine to five
exchanging time for money of a life that is dead...

In all moments of silence come the breaking news
I let you see the authentic me, the release of my destiny
lifting me to higher vibration, is my poetic contemplation
In this very moment , I am free....

The sweetness of your smile, your look of love covers me
it makes me walk a mile, and the more time we spend talking
the more I start to feel your warmth, our intimate moments
last all night, as I sleepwalk through your dreams....

Take This Kiss Upon THE Brow!
AND IN Parting From YOU NOW
Thus Much LET ME Avow-
YOU ARE NOT Wrong, WHO Dream
That MY Days Have Been A Dream
YET IF Hope HAS Flown Away
IN A Night OR IN A DAY
IN A Vision OR IN None
IS IT Therefore THE Less Gone?
ALL That WE SEE OR Seem
IS BUT A Dream Within A Dream.

I Stand Amid THE Roar
OF A Surf Tormented Shore
AND I Hold Within MY Hand
Grains OF THE Golden Sand
HOW FEW! YET They Creep
Through MY Fingers TO THE Deep
While I Weep- While I Weep
O Goodness! CAN I NOT Grasp
Them With A Tighter Clasp
O Goodness! CAN I NOT Save
ONE From THE Pitiless Wave?
IS ALL That WE SEE OR Seem

can you take me as I am

Many words are so deep

a romantic passion so much more
or just friends in towers of ivory clouds....

Can we give distance  to wings of love
and heaven to abide till we see each other
now together we could own the sky...

Can I be your Angel

A Free Spirit Was She
Dreaming of warmer days,
Walking hand in hand through the sand,
With the one she loves.
She was a free spirit....

Who could understand
People come and go.
Who is left? Who is she?
Sitting down among the stars..

Crying into the wind,
Wanting what her heart yearns
For and having trouble giving in.
Wrapping her soul in the hands of her maker....

Crying to her Lord.
One day soon.. One day soon…

He whispers to her soul....

This day she was a free Spirit.
A spirit was she…..

This day came just like before
A visitor like no other she knew no more
The mystery of her past came flowing gently forth
Singing like an old shoe that would be drowning her soul...

The labor was too much as her hands would bleed
As she tried and tried again to nail herself to heaven
The words seemed scrambled
Falling from the earth....

Hearing the laughter flowing oh so gently
As she sang so softly to ears of no one
Bleeding from head to toe
Just wanting to hear the words
'I love you'....

Hearts break and bend
On those special days
Bursting with sadness
That can only begin...

Looking at the past
The future to come
This day
She was one free spirit and there were more to come……

Her Shadow Is Closing
A beautiful butterfly you were
as all watched you from a far
standing by scented embers
with drug impaired eyes,
following by sips of red wine
at that given moment
you looked unsure of yourself
but all were so happy to offer their help...

Your tight hip-hugger pants
slid over your form
not a thing was wrong
could anyone see
oh how I wish I was you
on that rainy day..

Then one day, as years went by
you seemed so lost as I spied you far away
your hair seemed disheveled
your tears ran down lined pale face
the air didn't change as you floated around
like it did many moons before
my heart went to you
as I saw all the distressed...

Dear sister what happened?
did you fall on ill health
did your love fall by the wayside
did it break your heart?

The shadow is closing
a touch of loss still spoke
you murmured so softly
that not many days were
left to live much less pray....

Last Night
Ray of light, beams and cast away the night
shadows departing as you joined me so slowly
circling and waiting for the right moves...

Illusions fall away to heightened the consciousness
kissing the hurt so far away
with the rise and fall of our breaths
last evening was the perfect night ...

I listen for the silence , your breath so near
you are reaching for my form to bring me to you....

As twilight begins and birds start their song
the night was so magical and my mind set in stone
the day flows along, the dreams roll around
wanting to be into a new night, with my special love...

The dusk is here and I am where I belong
your arms are outstretched guiding me once again
You circle and guide following my look
this will be the night, you promise,
better than last ...

My Un-Dying Arms Tonight
This boundless place for us
rolled into one and into each other
our breath breathing each one
a boundless place to set our sun
as you rounded the the bend
with diamonds lacing my eyes
emeralds rushing where swans
don't fly, is our love you and I
a sea of gold wraps around
our heads draws to our lips
without a name...

We stand in the air, where the newness
reaches our forms, an walk a hundred paths
that lead back to our love,
your eyes and hands explore
on my dainty feet upon the sliver breeze
not able to compose ourselves
is our whispers of 'I want you."
for ever now and for ever then
having been conceived of our lust
our bliss was marked of our ever lasting
mortal state of the twilight of midnight
spent in each others arms....

YOU will always be in my dying arms
with our hopes and dreams sing us to sleep
in between our kisses and wanting
of our passionate undying love...

passion sought
standing still listening
to our hearts, wanting so much
the others lives, so we will ever fall
drinking our fill of our dearest hearts
and then we must part, the pain we feel.....

That moment our lips wrote poetry
on the canvas of our hearts
from our eyes to kisses,
are a must, wanting
our passion
to the
fullest...
________

The work of art that we created
Was not an outline,
On the roof of the heart’s cathedral
It was a breathtaking fresco
Painted centuries ago
By Michelangelo.

If ever you feel sad and lonely
Just reach up and let
Your fingers roam free,
You’ll trace the contours
Of your and my mind
Kept alive by that
Pulsating heart…

The Moon Rains
To taste the moon,

as it sings at night

a generous portion

of dark colored  sun filled glass

causes this somber sad depression

fills this anguish of mine

to melt....

Let me feel the moon in my bones
behind my wounded heart of mine
a ballad, oh moon, you do sing
from the deepest part of my mind
harbors the past of missed opportunities
of events...

The moon is raining my tears at night
feeling the sadness of many a years
bounds to my very soul
to take the pain of the disturbed peace
the world has gone mad
my life is your equalizing song
rain moon rain, with all your might...

Our Day
Let's make this our day...
a day with smiles and love
that touches the other souls of one
of merriment that has to last, because I insist it so...

Insist of others to back away, hold the hearts of one I say
then pray with all your might, that love will last one more day..

Oh yes this has to be our day
that folds around each adoring way
to reach for eternity that makes me laugh
or cry which ever my heart leads towards array...

Can't you see it has to be my day???
nothing can stop me now I say.. my prayers can't go unnoticed
my hopes and dreams cant be dashed, my darling I need you, so much
so much, has to last....

My tears are vanished, my heart has stopped
I just don't care what is said.... you see its mine,
all mine to keep, don't go away.. I pleaded once again ..

So if you want to go away.. it's fine, go, I say...

But guess what???

This is still my day, and you can't take it away.....

Embraces
Embraces of the fore long ..
the dreams of spirits draws us near
embraces wraps us with love
even when we are gone..

Our pen holds us captive
memories threads us through
each others fingers
kissing the air we breathe..

Our mind holds on to the loneliness
fingers write with a flair
arms draw one near
that loves the most and the deepest
eyes see what is written
of the dearest one of all..

Let Me Lay
My thoughts found in tears
let me lay with you this last time
let me put my face on your chest
and let me hear your heart beat
no matter what my mood
no matter what the day...

Let me lay, let me shed my tears
in your heart, in this losing battle
its hard not to call, to hear your mighty voice
its hard to turn away
my tears give way to fears
the joy seems to dissolve away....

My arms ache, just wanting to feel you
my lips are chapped needing your kisses
my body aches wanting and needing so much...

I find myself looking to the stars
out the simple window of pain
I curl up on my pillows and cry the night away...

So Please let me lay, just one more time
let me look at your wonderful face
let me search your wonderful heart
just don't walk away....

Drink In The Beauty
Invite beauty into your life
embrace the beauty of spirit and free
you will be amazed at what you see
walking though life in a haze
there are some things I remember so clearly
like the senseless pain, and maybe the death...

This hurts the soul, too many times
maybe its never over you see
maybe we always carry our wars around inside of us
ticking away, waiting to go off
or maybe we will invite beauty
into our very souls.....

The inner core must come alive
with miracles that can abide
with generously blessed energy
with visions and dreams come alive..

Let me invite the beauty
help me to keep from crying...

Deep Vermillion do Play
The heaviest of heavens pluck the heart
Drawn of bittersweet figures of delight
As with your shadow with these she did play
Different flowers odors do seem
A little bit with the others in hue.......

Saturn lays at the doorstep of love
Hath a spirit of love in the youth
When proud pied June, dressed in all its warmth
The roses so red blooms with sweet sweet smell...........

Cruel of souls of the wicked do play
Cast away cold this frightful day
What more is there to offer
What more I  do pray...................

It's quite a burden I do declare
The beautiful light simply went away
The tears are shed  on this mournful night
Holding onto souls trying to find the light...............

Oh yes tho almighty One I do pray
Sweeps the mournful many night skies
Looking around searching for the lies
Waiting and searching for the fateful fright...

The deep vermillion do play
With each others hearts come what may
To measure a man at the pearly gates
Look oh look what you will undertake...

The Rose of orange they do play
The hearts of red will love to stay
The tears of yellow will come what may
each and every fateful day.....

Restful Spirit
This restful spirit longs
for love that measures
inspiring pleasures that might come
my restless spirit knows
that it will not be ...

Each day I wake
looking for my sleep
at night I sleep among my candles
that I light before my rest
of endless words ...

Putting my feet on the floor
I cry and cry for more
my restless figure
walks through the fire
wanting a new world to come....

Last Note To A Love Song
The faraway song of love

That makes the night bittersweet one more time

The voice of gladness

The eloquence of beauty!

The poetess in me writes to the poet in you..

Feeling tiny in this darkness

Tiny curb place in this space

This only sacred place, right now I feel alone....

Looking as though you were alive, I called

There we stand hand in hand

By design we never spoke

The last notes to the love song....

Strangers like us never guessed

The depth and passion we had

At each earnest glance

The curtain we have drawn for us

Please take care of my heart, I pray

How such a glance and a song came thru!

For you, the last note to the love song....

Single Word
It was just a single word, that lasted all day and night
it spoke to my heart, made me cry with fright
an article of thought, longing for the ultimate surmise
it was just a single word...

I beseech-ed of you, that word, for the word to go away
you are the arteries throughout my being
don't you understand, the most cherished
whispered into my being, that word, that single word
please go away..

Four decades of loving you, then the word
that left your mouth, that exploded all around
that hurt the most, that single word, that you spoke
it was a single word...

Our inner most thoughts were all we had
seduced I was with your ways, I would have followed you
till I died...Then that word, that hurtful single word
you crammed in down my throat you held it over my head,
you are not my lover...

That single word....

Cherished Life
Composed with the fragrance of timeless love
cherished life is hard to find, but love will find a way
eternity will become....

Pleading for inner life, hopes and dreams may be dashed
bless you for wanting me....just like I am..

All these imperfections, all these tears
where life has harmed my soul
for the warmth of your heart
beating next to mine..

The consequence of time is an endearment
the moment you enter my mind
love seems so real, all I have to do is reach out
and touch, the entity of our souls...

Cherished life, cherished love is what we are...

Year after Year
Lady of the wandering sea
She was fifteen
When he came wandering by thee
The leaves would fall that very autumn
He saw
The wind blew amongst her hair
She would call
Oh lover, please take me here
Where butterflies are yellow with dawn
Life is green in the spring
Year after year would come
Left time of regrets be sown
In the full strength of years to be
Of the ages of blue diamond’s you'll see
So years would simply breathe one more breath
Lies one more day till death
Simply year after year
When she was sixty three
One more day
Was she

You Were Forever
Forever in the thickening
in your splendid heart
I felt your soul
Shadows huddle tightly
no remorse etching of this life
down by the waterfall
we were forever
on that sweet day
recalling what it was like
to be
forever in your arms
with stained starved memory
against the starlight night
with storms on the horizon
time slips away
in the peaceful ride
beyond the tomorrows
of yesterdays
You were forever
in my loving mind.....

Dear Oneness
My heart opens to nowhere
as I look through brown glass
I hope to see you one last time
that maybe just maybe, my soul
will quit searching and peering through
a thousand eyes of poetry....

I have lived life as it meant nothing
everyone was invisible as I prodded on.
Those were the days, hot summers, nights
of meanings. There were the days before we
had our own place, small but affordable many
nightmares of love drifting away...

Heaven calling loved ones, one at a time'
I close my eyes, what else can I do, but wait
and years have passed by, and now the oneness
and the loneliness that creeps in the very way of life....

Your chance, and the many feelings I have to
discern and disarm, trying to listen to reason,
not knowing what the times will bring
but thats okay, time will slip away...

Dear Oneness you cant have me anymore..

A dream
By Dee
Debbie Brooks

Restless sleep last night

I tossed left and right

Across the everglades and leas

I saw you running towards me.

Out of breath, you came & clasped my hand

My heart pounding, I could barely understand,

The distress, pain, aches reflected in your eye

Not a word spoken, yet all said by your sigh.

I saw a teardrop rolling down your cheek

Adios my darling, hitherto we shall never meet

‘The dawn arrives’, is what you said silently

Why can’t you linger awhile? I beseeched fervently.

Confused paralyzed, I let you go

And you were lost, gone – ergo

As I sat on the broken bench to catch my breath

I wondered was I, in holding on out of depth?

Alas…I pray

Would you come back into my dream again tonight?

Not to leave, but to stay on even after daylight?

Not to cause agony & pain

But to stay, forever remain.

____________

My love, I saw you in your dream
I traveled oh so far, waiting for an invitation
To be part of you once again
Your mind entwined with mine
Drove my heart to yours
And dreamed me so many times

Your dreams become my restless sleep
Tossing and turning with touches of your lips
That keeps me flooding with touches and love
That’s when I was running to you
You saw my teardrop, with touch of desperation

My heart pounding not understanding
The need I had for you,
Whispering we should ever meet,
Please do not let me go,
Your dreams are my dreams
Even in the daylight

I can taste your love like rain on my tongue
You teased my dream with droplets of you
With so many wild pleasures that lay in store
As our happiness dazzled before our eyes
Our dreams made one, that last time …
