let's get used to each other
slowly, sublimely
wrap ourselves in blankets of
conversations,
communicate.
let's slink in
slowly, deliciously
into this cloud called love.

Please allow me to slip into something a little more comfortable
Something like, your mind
I'm stimulated by your kind
Because thought processes excite me
Deep and Wet with the waters of critical analytical thinking
Flowing like the rivers of time
Can I gently caress your intellect?

As time rains over me,
It washes the pain away.

Being an intense person
Passionate about everything I love
Almost until it's too much to bear
Makes falling in love like flying too close to the sun

Sometimes I think
It's best
To just keep my feet on the ground for a little while
Some of us just weren't meant to fly

But flying was never really the problem
The hardest part about flying
Is the ground

Learning to land after a pummel
To fly again
Another day

Shadows of Night
There are times,
When I want to be alone,
And it's not anyone's fault.

But even well intentioned words,
That kind touches,
Turns into static.

And it feels as though a wall
Is separating me from everything else,
Filled with mist and fog.

If Feeling and Emotion are colors,
Then this thing is Grey.
Faded. Muffled.

Not invisible,
But washed-out.

When I am in that place,
There is nowhere else, nothing but this,
And there never will be.

But eventually,
It passes.

Sometimes it takes DAYS,
Sometimes HOURS,
But the wall DISAPPEARS.

The fog melts away,
The gray pulls backwards...
And I am myself again.

we are only given one lifetime on this earth
and no one hands out instructions at birth
we just go forward everyday hoping
we figure it out before the figures run out
I didn’t realize that my real eyes
didn’t reside at the top of my skull
when you start to see the world at chest height
then you start to set your view right
we are only given one chance and one day
nothing ever gets done tomorrow
anything is possible but,
it can only ever happen today

Senses have so much to say
Tongues, fingers flying

If you could see the inside of a person

they would look rather congealed and drippy

but.....
metaphorically much different than who they are on the outside.

You know,

the skin part throws us all off to inner beauty
and their desires and needs and vulnerabilities.

However, personally....

I'll take the heads with teeth in their mouths and skin on
their faces.
Hopefully they have enough brains in their skulls
(and not falling all over the ground)
to spill their own guts over a drink (several, if they insist)
without me having to see them instead.

Fairly certain
the epic distraction of their viscera
would sincerely disparage what they were attempting to convey anyhow.

Is true happiness ever really possible,
without making selfish choices?

There are 10 kinds of people in this world,
and binary accounts for them all.

They're happy and sad.
They're ones and zeros.
Villains and heroes.
Villains, yet not all bad.
Despite everything life decides to hurl;
Despite every brick ball of fear
Through the stained glass windows of their minds,
Through it all, they survive.
They're angry and glad.
They're happy and sad.

And in their duality, they're still smiling there
at your sharp hasty words
at your venomous hurt
that you wish so desperately they, too, shared.
Love thy enemy.

Special thanks to Kelley A Vinal for the binary inspiration. You can read her poetry here: http://hellopoetry.com/kelley-a-vinal/

It's pretty solid.

Edit: Holy Daily, Batman! Wow, I'm so honored. Glad you all like it so much! :D
