Drowning out memories
Maybe I can see things differently
Trying to forget the things you said

he'd compare my writings to a garden
how my little ideas sprung into something huge
i'd tell him it wasn't like that
that it takes more
it takes more than one little idea
and not all of them make it into something huge
but out of all the wrong things he said
he had this one partially right
flowers grow from seeds
poetry grows from pain
