Acid In The Bone
SøułSurvivør Oct 2019
Rhino virus in my flesh
My right knee has bursitis
Aching body, stuffy head
Hip to toe arthritis!

I've been slowly going deaf
Bad teeth in my mouth
I'm a "Rice Krispies" critter
My plumbing's going south!

I need a new body!
NOT the one I own!
I've dry-rot in my muscles
And acid in the bone!

What CAN make me joyous
When I'm in such pain?
Who is my umbrella
While I'm dancing in the rain?
I think you know the answer
But I'll repeat again...

Don't find it strange I'm happy!
No, don't find it odd!
I have a gracious Savior...

Jesus Christ's my God!
The litmus test for the value of a faith, I believe, is how you can handle trials in one's life. I should feel REALLY rotten... but instead I have joy!! Hallelujah!! ♡♡♡

Joy Unspeakable
SøułSurvivør Oct 2019
How can I describe
A night like this?
The exquisite joy?
The heav'nly bliss?
Jesus bent down
With a kiss!
I wonder now
How I could miss
The blessings coming
With this rest!

Wrapped within
His loving arms
Kept, protected
From alarms
Yes, in the Rock
And safe from harm

To this church
God had me brought
I never knew
How hard I'd fought
No I never
Gave much thought
But deliverance
Is what I sought!

I now know
And I agree
I was blind,
but now I see!!
My enemy was
Really ME!
But, at last,

I'VE BEEN SET FREE!!!

Melody
SøułSurvivør Sep 2019
Through a golden wood it sings
Ruby heart with silver wings
A lithe young lass a'sitting there
Emerald eyes and onyx hair
A harp she plucks
With graceful hands
To her left a stallion stands
Right a stag with ivory rack
A griffin eagle at her back
Before her is a raging fire
No lad can pass in his desire!
No one can find her for the trees
But all can hear her melodies.

Though they tripped
Through glade & fen
People long to hear again!
For without the slightest sound
The maiden put
Her soft strings down
And vanished

never to be found.
I am writing a book of poetry. It's being illustrated by myself & two other artists. I want to illustrate this one!

A Priest's Lullaby
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
A poem by
Kimberley Gayton

Gazing through to the other side
Hearing all the sins they tried to hide
What am I supposed to do
What am I supposed to say
A few Hail Marys will
make it all go away
But who keeps a tally
Who takes the toll
Knowing all the secrets
Only Gods supposed to know
Gazing through to the other side
Watching them squander
All I've been denied
Trying hard not to give in
Watching all the little boys
As they come in
But I'll be forgiven
I'll be all right
I've committed no sin
I only try and bring joy to them
I leave no scars, there is no pain
Me and the little boys it's just a game
Now I've grown old,
And they've grown up
They hide in the shadows
They run from my touch
But I'll be forgiven, I'll be OK
I am one of the chosen...
or so they say
Handpicked by God
In His service I'll stay
Who can I confide in
Where can I go
Is there salvation
For my ****** soul

Flesh Rose
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
Her cheeks a'blooming
Fresh petals
Assuming a charm
All their own....

Flesh roses
In a flute of bone.

Her arms are strong wings
Ethereal beauty, poised
For her journey, as a
Tern is
On its long feathered flight
From the North
She wings her way

To the South
Only to meet
The arctic waste
Once more...

Yet the flesh roses never fade

For they are
frozen with tears.

Peacock Tales
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
Once there was a jungle
Every creature great & small
Was given special gifts there
God, he gave them ALL.

He gave monkeys humor
He gave gazelles grace
But the peacock was quite special
He gave HIM the fairest face!

Now, as with all great blessings
This one had a curse
The peacock... quite spectacular!
But he had an ugly VOICE!

Peacock screeched displeasure!
He spread his tail... and then...
He saw his greatest curse of all
His VERY plain PEAHEN!!

Pearl Palace
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
There was a pearl Palace
In a land so far away
They said it glowed at midnight
And sparkled in the day
In the pearl Palace
A lovely princess stayed.

She walked The Halls a'dreamin
Of a handsome man
To take her from the golden Halls
Of that foreign land
But her company was peacocks
She didn't understand.

A Wizard's spell had captured her
To keep her in that place
Where no one kept her company
Tears flowed down her face
She was kept quite comfortably
In her Silk and Lace.

She knew the great volcano
Would erupt for miles and miles
If she left the Pearl Palace
Where she was kept in style
And so she stayed there all alone
A sad and lonely child.

The Horses Of The Sea
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
Deep within the grass & kelp
'Neath Posidon's briney waves
A stable of seahorses live
And in the corals sway

They blend into their background
With their leafy fins
With bubble eyes
and puckered snout
They hope a mate to win!

Poseidon doesn't ride them
Tho he breaks the tallships sails
He'd rather be amused by them
Their odd shape & curling tails!

The seahorse is a character!
Who loves the shadows deep
Poseidon there hides pearls
For his seahorses to keep.

Lady of the Crescent Moon
SøułSurvivør Aug 2019
There is a lady in the night
A constellation fair
Lady of the Crescent Moon
You'll see her sitting there.

She wears a diadem of stars
Opals of bright hues
Each color in it represents
A soul who's been abused.

She, who is their patron
Lets them shine like suns
She holds them in the heavens
And cares for every one.

She holds a scepter crystalline
Wears rubies on her sleeves
Her bossom alabaster stones
A tapestry she weaves.

The crescent moon behind her
It's beams are like a flood
It is a second diadem
For she's of royal blood.

AH! You cannot see her?
No. You will not see her soon
You'd only see from VENUS

Lady of the Crescent Moon.
I hope you enjoyed this. It's written for my friend Sar, and based on a picture she drew.
I LOVE that drawing!

I Drink Of Darkness
SøułSurvivør Jul 2019
I drink of Darkness
Under the pure skin of night
Where Shadows pool
In my cupped hands.

I drink of Darkness.
I drown in it.
I Revel in its sorrow
It's oily tears.
I sink under its billows.
The Bellows of its lungs.
Which fill with the phlegm
Of the countless dogs
Who drink of it.

I look up at the auburn sky.
For the sake of the devil
Starless.

I drink of Darkness.
Like a pool which is a
Septic morass
Of nightcrawlers.

I drink of Darkness.
Bailing with no raft.
A soul eclipsed

By nothing.
There was a time when I used to love the night. When I was an addict and I was looking for my fix. I used to love to go out at night. It was very dangerous where I lived, but that did not matter to me at the time. I simply wanted my *******. Thank God I found the savior! Jesus Christ literally saved my life.

Rain After a Drought
SøułSurvivør Jul 2019
Rain! Timpany sounds
on the roof and from the gutters
call me to my front porch.
Such music! Like little
silver hammers striking
the drumhead summer-baked
desert floor. Magical music
murmuring to my muse.

Petrichor, after an extended
dry spell, lingers. Nestling in
my nostrils. How could two
chemical reactions create
such delicious desert desiring?
Duplicity of dust and drought
with a wet, wondrous wealth
of water! Whew... hoo!

My eager eyes behold emerald
instead of dull khaki, brown
and olive hues, odalisque
forms of the prickly pear
will become plump in their
passionate love of
precipitation! Ahhhh...!!

What a joy to behold
the crystal curtain once more!
Small beads of moisture
form on my forehead
and fingers. Fascinating
to feel the hairs on my arms
stand up with the
electricity of negative ions...

Every sense is smothered
with summer storm extract...

ECSTASY!!!

Crucible
SøułSurvivør Jul 2019
In a crucible we're placed
As gold with dross to spare
Placed upon a fervent flame
We are all heated there.

Through this hard and
Hellish trial
We melt down as the ore
Releasing our impurities
Our faults come to the fore.

All the greed and avarice
All coveting and lust
Hate and anger bubble up
All envy & mistrust.

Jealousy. All vanities.
Malice & disdain
We scream & shout
And writhe about
Grumble & complain.

God takes his refiner's scoop
Removes the crust and then
Leaves us on the furnace fire
And heats us up again!

As we release the
Dirt and grout
There is a peace that's found
We find our comforter in Him
And we quiet down.

Still we have the impure thought
We are not worry free
We have a sort of "holy" pride
Religiosity.

Finally, this scraped away
There's NOTHING left. No trace
God looks into the shining gold
And sees His very face!

How glorious, the finished gold!
How beautiful the ore!
It's set in wondrous majesty

To shine forevermore
.
I'm going through some very difficult physical trials. Rather than complain I'm writing about them. We all have something in our lives to heat us up, so to speak. We can get bitter, or we can get better. I choose the latter. My faith really helps. It is my hope that you will find this Faith is as well. Thanks for reading! ♡♡♡

Mars is Red ~ Venus is Blue
SøułSurvivør Jul 2019
Mars, they say, is God of War
Venus Love...
But not no more.

Mars is red, an angry shade
With knuckles like
A sickle's blade

His right hook
has some might in store
He lays her on
The threshing floor

There he whacks
The chaff from wheat
She's just a dog
For him to beat...

Mars is red
Venus is blue
Black as well
A nasty hue

Her friends tell her
To up & leave
For all the beatings
She's recieved

But she knows
That if she leaves
He'd find... and ****
With none to grieve.

So she stays down
On knees to pray
That Mars would simply
Go away...

He will not
She's bound to lose
Red & blue...
A purple bruise.

Finally she'd had enough
Packed some food
And all her stuff

Before he could
Wake up to belt her
She went into a caring shelter

He searched and searched
But never found
His goddess was
Nowhere around

He drank and drank
His days away
Finally t'was
As she had prayed

Mars hit bars
With liquored breath
He finally drank
Himself to death.

Mars was red
And Venus blue
But now she's FREE

She could be YOU.

This poem has been in my drafts for a long time. I was hesitant to post it, because it has very violent content. But something told me recently that I should put it up. Maybe there's someone who needs to read it, I don't know. All I know is that if you are a battered woman there is help out there. You don't have to suffer in silence anymore!

I was battered... ONCE.
I ran away and called the cops & that was IT for HIM. But he stalked me for 2 years before he finally gave up. I'm lucky to be alive!

The Talisman
SøułSurvivør Jul 2019
Of chancellery
Egyptian charm
Rosetta stone
Within his arms
He never thought
He'd do her harm
He kept her safe
His special cairn.

Upon his altar she was set
Phylactery, his amulet
Tears of gratitude he wept
For such a prize
As what he kept

But though she had
The center stage
All the time
She fumed with rage
He was a fool
She was a sage
So he kept her
In a cage.

Then one day
Whilst fool was sleeping
At her feet while
She was weeping
She spied a weapon
He was keeping
He had sowed...
... now he was reaping!

A candlestick
Of leaded weight
She reached out
Of the cage's gate
Though she was
In prisoner's state
She knocked it off
And sealed his fate!

This was not wisdom
To break his bone.
For she was then
Quite well alone
Yes... she'd put him
In his tomb
But, caged, she had then

Sealed her own
.
Be careful what you make an idol...

Sorry I haven't been around. I don't write poetry so much anymore. I'm working as an artist now. Thanks for understanding.

The Stellar Stair
SøułSurvivør Jun 2019
Who will climb the stellar stair?
Who will know the wonders there?

What will give transcendent worth?
Free us from this weighted earth?

How will we leave this fallen world?
What can save us, boys & girls?

The man (or woman) who is "pure"?
Can THEY help you? Are you SURE?

People who are SO devout
Are THEY certain they'll get out?

Those who think their minds equipped
To build an interstellar ship?

They sit and ponder,  as earth dies,
How they can go live in the skies!

But there are those who still Believe.
They pray to God, Who's greatly grieved!

If you want to leave this vice
Let me give you some advice.
PUT YOUR TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST!

He's the One on Whom to call!
He will free from Satan's thrall
He's the Savior of us ALL!

The devil sifts, as with a sieve
But Jesus died that we might live!

How can we think that our own power
Will save us in that final hour?

We cannot work for it, nor buy it!
It is God's gift... please don't deny it!

A giant gap, 'tween us and God
He is HOLY! it's not odd!

With an Apple Adam drove the wedge
With wood and nails Christ built a BRIDGE!

It happened when His life He lost
God's Mighty Wrath... spent at the cross!

Then, buried like a seed... a Rose
The RESSURECTION! He AROSE!

You want to leave this devil's lair?
Jesus calls you... and He CARES!
His sacrifice put that bridge there

JESUS CHRIST... THE STELLAR STAIR!

Let all the Earth
Bow down, attest,
Beneath Your wings
We finally rest.

Oh, Jehovah,

Let us see
And do Your Will
Effectively
Let Your Kingdom
Finally be
Your Will is what
Will set us free!

Jehovah-jireh

You'll provide.
Let us put all fears aside.
You bring us bread,
Fish on the tide
In Your blessings
We reside!

Jehovah-Tsidkenu

Our righteousness
To forgive is such a test!
By Your forgiveness
We can bless
Others... with them
We won't wrest.

Jehovah-Nissi

Victory waves!
Let Satan leave!
He is depraved.
Let him not tempt us
To the grave!
For, in You, we may be
SAVED!

Yours is the power
Glory send,
And Your Kingdom

NEVER ENDS

We were in a
Deep, deep pit...
An endless journey
Hellbound trip!
Now our feet
Will never slip,
And with the armor
We're equipped!

We have this pagan brew
I find the worship of Ishtar
Has me in a stew!

The holidays of pagans!
And to see events of Christ
Blended in with all of it
Has my stomach in a vice!

Take your rabbits
And your "Ishtar" eggs
I'll just have to pray
I'd just prefer to call this time
RESURRECTION DAY!
Research the above. Ishtar was a Babylonian fertility goddess. That's where the bunnies and eggs came in. Ishtar was later renamed ashtaroth. One of the members of the Demonic Trinity. Sounds like a good thing to worship, eh?

Woman in Tatters
Woman in Bloom
A woman who matters
A face on a tomb

She sits in a corner
Having painted the floor
Nowhere to go now
Can't run anymore

She stands on a hillside
Her guitar strumming colors
Her pick hits a chord
Harmonizing with others

She lies in her bedroom
Fists punching the air
Boxing at shadows
There ain't nothin' there

She marches the streets
Her face shines like the day
She links arms with Titans
And blows them AWAY.

Her face is slow cracking
She dances on doom
Woman in tatters

Woman in Bloom.

THE THREEFOLD CORD
SøułSurvivør Apr 2019
There's a cord that has three strands
It is not made by human hands

It's made with Mercy, made with love
It's made by God who is above

It's made by nurture, made with care
It's made by two who are in prayer
It can't be seen, but it is there!

It's made with tears as well as smiles
It matters not the distant miles

Though parted by earth's time & space
There is a bond you can't replace

Yeshua Hamashiach gives
The third strand in which he lives

Not easily broken, for, you see
One strand is you, one strand is me

And it will last ETERNALLY.
Dedicated to The Faithful Dreamer.
Happy Birthday, sister! I love you with all my heart! Have a blessed day!

The humming of a forest glade
The bumbling of bees,
The place you stop
To take your shade
Beneath the ancient trees

In the vapors of the seas
As they caress your face
In monkeys on a vine trapeze
In a gazelle's grace

There, then gone
Without a trace
God's in flakes of snow
Glistening like tiny lace
They collect in floes

God's in the meercat's
Funny show
In otters having fun
In their holes the
Snowhares go!
Lizards seek the sun

God is in...

The wildflowers won
By maidens in the field
He's in the soldiers
With their guns
Who make the foe to yield...

But God is NOT
The cause of war
As many claim to say.
He is NOT religious "score"
He wants us to PRAY.

That our leaders
THINK and STAY
Their armory to CEASE
He HATES those
Who in their way
Destroy our Planet's PEACE.

So let's give God
A break at least!
He loves us!
Have you heard?
He wishes LOVE
To flow... INCREASE!
Our ***** we must gird

God's in ALL CREATION.
Sublime to the absurd
He wants PEACE for Nations

IT SAYS SO IN HIS WORD.

THE DRUMS OF WAR
SøułSurvivør Mar 2019
Deep within this flute of bone
Within this drum of skin
There's a war that's rising up
A battle will begin.

A war which has no victims
A fight no one can lose
It is the conflict of the heart
The heart of the abused.

A warhorse in armor
A champion in chains
We have fallen VERY low
Blood coursing
Down our manes.

The stain upon the spoils
A crying crimson curse
To those who have abused us
The subjects of our verse.

We put pen to paper
With our dark puce ink
We aim our silver bullet
And make our reader THINK.

With tempered steel
swords we wield
The plunder of our youth
We, as valiant knights of old
Slay dragons with
The TRUTH!

How innocence was
brought to naught
Our soul a waxy taper
Guttering upon its sconce
Our hearts becoming vapor.

But the One who
fights the BEST
Has given me a lance
And so I fight...
so i write
He's given me a chance!

Strength, the very
atmosphere!
Courage as the air!
A living hell
becomes a well
Its ink is my despair...

O come! You demons
of the drought!
You minions of the mind!
You will try...
but you will DIE!
Your fate will be unkind!

I said there was no victor?
I'm telling truth, you see.
No one is truly vanquished...

The enemy was ME.

Long of ear, an apparition
He swims slow,

With such longings
With much strife
My heart mutters lies,

Take my belongings
Take my life
My soul flutters... flies!
I've been gone a long time... life's been distracting me from HP. I still think of my friends here, and wish I could be more a part of this community...

This poem is just an observation upon how we can be distracted from what REALLY matters. Our eternal destiny.

It Does Not Snow In Heaven
SøułSurvivør Dec 2018
Looking down upon the earth
Where there you kneel to pray
We know there is such grief for us
As you search for a way
To bear grief's wrath,
And find a path,
But this is what we say...
The sky is deep, an azure blue
There is no dreary gray
There is no cold nor biting wind
Where we are today.

There is no snow in heaven
The leaves are always green
There are roses here aplenty
The biggest ever seen!
It'll stun the eyes
And bring surprise!
You'll know what we mean
When you finally get here
And see where we have been!

There are angels singing!
You won't believe the sound!
There are colors never seen
And diamonds on the ground!
Don't be sad! You will be glad
Although we're not around
We who have been sickly
Now every wound is bound!

Yes, we look down upon you
Have compassion on you all.
We rejoice in your happiness
And soothe you when you fall.

But most of all we beg you
Not to grieve too long!
We are beholding Jesus!
Bursting into song!

And though the world grows weary
As on you have to plod
There is no snow in heaven...

WE SEE THE FACE OF GOD.

A Billion Stars
SøułSurvivør Nov 2018
Stars out in their billions
Above a living sea
Seagulls sleep on beaches
The wind blows to the lea
Old Mexico is haunting
A place of History
To these graceful sandy shores
You invited me
Your residence so gracious
Where I could be free.

I picture Starry Starry Night
Swirling colors, yellow, cream
Italian Cypress blowing
The deepest darkest green
Vincent must have such a Muse
What would he have seen?
If he came to Mexico
To stars like in a dream?

We exist neith different Skies
In these shells of flesh & bone
But we both seek the same prize
We are NOT alone
I would give all that I have
To soothe your road of stones
Yes, I'd give all that I have
I'd give all that I own
To give you all these billion stars

And a place you could call HOME.

You Trust In Jesus!
SøułSurvivør Nov 2018
Song written for a friend...

In the trials of your winter
When snow, in floes,
Blankets the soil,
You have frostbite,
Your toes burning,
You're exhausted
From your toils,

When you're under
Heavy burdens
And your feet
Drag o'r the ground
I can see you
Trust in Jesus
By the peace that
You have found!

[Chorus]
I can see you trust in Jesus
Through storm and calamity
I can see you trust in Jesus
By the love you have for me!

It's quiet here
Inside your circle
It's restful here
Inside your peace
I find joy
That's Everlasting
In your faith
May it not cease!

I know, my dear,
You Trust in Jesus
You have praised
Him o'r and o'r
Jesus! Jesus!
Precious JESUS!
You have faith to
Trust Him more!

[Chorus]

To be sung to "Trust in Jesus".
SøułSurvivør Sep 2018
How do I even start this text?
What words to use?
What should come next?
In my body, no longer vexed!

I can't remember this good feeling!
My mind is giddy!
My senses reeling!
I finally received a healing!
You best believe
I have been kneeling...
No devil brood to do more stealing!

I was ill. Terribly cursed.
I went to the doctor
Expecting the worst
His response was not rehearsed...
My kidney problem was reversed!

I had a problem on many points
Uric acid in my joints

I had a fog inside my brain
I felt tired, my body strained.
My whole system felt restrained.
My tears made my pillow stained.

Oh! But now I am so elated!
All the symptoms have abated!
Everything in us is related!
More progress anticipated!

I might even find a job!
There's Someone I wish to applaud
Don't find it strange.
Don't find it odd...

I give ALL the PRAISE TO GOD!!!

My kidney function has reversed! I was nearly in kidney failure... But now I am healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ! I will be bold about talking about HIM. I owe him everything. The uric acid in my joints has gone down significantly, and the same had affected my brain. There are a lot of other changes, also. Thanks for reading! ♡♡♡

God is TOUGH.
SøułSurvivør Sep 2018
SLAP POETRY

In heaven Satan was the best,
The worship-leader, very blessed
Magnificent, all would attest
Thought he'd be above the rest

He thought he should be in God's place
That he'd slap Jesus in the face
He fell from honor... fell from grace
In the end he lost the race

God is TOUGH.
They'll scream & shout!
All Satan's angels in a rout
In the end they got kicked out!
Satan thought he had a plan
Yep. He thought HE was the MAN
Finished before the Book began
He was like lightning as he fell
And in the end he'll go to hell.

YEAH. God don't play.
Don't take no guff.
There's a point
He had enough!
Had His fill of
Stupid stuff...
Let me tell you,

GOD IS TOUGH!!

Pharaoh thought HE was all that.
On a golden throne he sat
Yeah, he WAS a mean ol' cat
Hebrew sweat made his land fat

Put the Hebrews through a LOT
But MOSES had another thought
Pharaoh's heart was
Hardened... caught
Through Moses God
Caused Egypt's rot...

Because of Moses' bravery
Pharaoh ended the slavery.

God is TOUGH!
They had no hope
God gave Pharaoh
Lot's of rope
Through Moses
God brought on a curse
Plagues of sorts which
Were the worst!
Pharaoh thought
He would be first
But it played out
As though rehearsed.

End of scene. Act. Then show!
Moses cried, "LET MY PEOPLE GO!"

Pharaoh did as it appears
THE HEBREWS WANDERED
40 YEARS!!

CHORUS

On the mountain God he wrote
The Ten Commandments
That he spoke.
They were written for the Folk
His very finger carved them out
As Moses stood up on the mount.
Moses came back for to find
His people had just lost their minds!
A golden calf is what they'd wrought
With the gold that they had brought
Moses made a golden draught
And made them drink it as they ought.

He begged with God
Not to destroy them!
Other tablets to deploy them.
To God's ways. There were Ten Commandments
So the people's have a moral fence.
God brought order. The Law was sent.
So the people would repent.

God is TOUGH! So don't be fooled!
He will judge... And by His rules!
Those who follow are as jewels
Those who don't are Devil's tools.

CHORUS

Now God has a dispensation
To save the people! Save the Nations!
God left heaven as a babe
So the people could be saved!
So His people could be well
From spirit's sickness - Satan's spell.
They called His name Emanuel.

From God's seed and divine birth
Jesus came and walked the Earth
His little flock he taught & gathered
He was teaching of the Father.
He taught goodness & great wisdom
He taught us how to
Find the Kingdom.

The Pharisees in anger brought
His death upon Him, for he taught!
He cast out demons. Healed many!
Gave the people food aplenty!
So the givers of the Law
Hated him for what they saw
Accused him of sin and vice
So they crucified the Christ.

God is TOUGH!
Jesus was cast down
With bitter gall and thorny crown
He put him in a criminal's grave
So that many could be saved!
Stripped of clothing and of pride
The wrath of God was satisfied
He put him in a criminal grave
So that many could be saved!

By his blood and by his death
He brought out the Lost, bereft.
For three days he was Underground
The women came and then they found
He had come forth! He had the keys!
From the devil took with ease
Hell, death, and the grave
He took all these!

CHORUS

Now, Christ in Resurrection stands
He's the greatest of the grand!
He gathers people from all lands
To bring them out
With a mighty hand!

But you'd better take advice...

Accept MERCY....
FEAR THE CHRIST!!

CHORUS

Tightrope Walkin' Moon!
SøułSurvivør Aug 2018
She rolls along the high wires
Tightrope walkin' moon
She graces life's big circus
She is gone too soon

Huge! A glowing fairie
So luminous! So bright!
She's suspended on the ropes
The performer of the night!

I watch her intently
As she's held aloft
Then she slips toward the hills...
... she is fallin' off!

But she bows down and curtseys!
A smile on her face
She's lost not her dancer's poise,
She maintains her grace.

Finally she exits
The horizon sets the stage
She is only a faint glow
The night has turned the page.

I'll remember her with fondness
As she danced to Claire de Lune...
In her sequined tutu

Tightrope walkin' moon.

Lizard on a Stone
SøułSurvivør Aug 2018
There was once a little boy
Without a friend
without a toy

A little girl who's gone astray
Without a guide
she lost her way

A man who walked
the desert sand
Lost within a foreign land

There was a lady who was lost
Wandering to count the cost

The way was hidden,
did not show
They all had no place to go

Suddenly they heard a sound
Puzzled, they all looked around

There was a lizard on a rock
To their amazement it could talk!

Here I am! The lizard said
Right here in this rocky bed!

Meet me here,
Come one, come all!
Hear me as I make this call!

Come see what I have in store
You won't be lonely anymore!

They listened to their
lizard brother
Come to find they met each other!

They made new friends
Were not alone
Due to that lizard on a stone.
I'm making silver and copper lizards that are wrapped around some semi-precious stones as jewelry. I'm going to sell them at a street fair and at swap meets. This little poem will be included with the sale of the jewelry.

I apologize for not being around. Life has been very difficult for me lately. And I've had to make a decision as to what I'm going to do to make money above and beyond my social security disability. Since I'm handicapped it's hard for me to get around. So I'm going to work from home. I hope I can be back around soon. Take care!

The Setting Moon
SøułSurvivør Jun 2018
The blue around the setting moon
Soft and peacock - gone too soon
The furnace sun of this late June
Chases night - will be its doom
But birds are cheerfully singing tunes.

Marble scuttles - fearful orb
She knows the Sun to be her lord
Exiting, as it were, toward
The far horizon ... She's absorbed.

The Suns small victory recognized
By the blush of eastern skies
They are distant - far and high
They don't ever question why.

Don't think it strange... It isn't odd

It's all been arranged by God.
In complete awe of God and His Creation!

Ignorance
SøułSurvivør Jun 2018
Lack of knowledge is a cage
A trap that's set for fool or sage
You think you know?
You've set the stage
The door slams shut at any age
The bars are stubbornness
The lock is rage
Irony... The wars we wage?
Are due to THINKING .
Turn the page...

A mind that questions you'll agree.
Opens doors... Will finally. See
The BRAIN is BLIND... How can that be?
It is the HEART which turns the key!

His Cathedral the Sky

R.I.P. Clinton Eugene Jarvis
~My father ~

The saguaro an altar
A tree stump a pew
He knelt in the garden
His church all that grew.

Cactus and succulent
Tenderly grown
Were all in his choir
For his ears alone.

From aisles of stone walkways
Stained glass in bright clouds
The sun was his mantle
The stars are his shroud

The lakes holy water
As a child he'd haunt
Skipping stones 'cross a pond
Like a Baptismal Font

Sat he 'neath the willows
To hear their prayer's sigh
The saguaro an altar

His Cathedral the sky.

Yesterday evening at approximately 9PM  my father passed away. He was closest to God being out in, and working with, nature. He was a Master Gardener. A member of the Cactus & Succulent Society.  I will write more about dad later on... Right now it's 5am and I've had no sleep. I'm going to try to rest. I'm handling the grief by writing... Remembering him fondly with words. Isn't that just like a poet...?

Wisdom
SøułSurvivør May 2018
Where do you find
great wisdom?
Knowledge has such power.
Is it in the greying head?
Is it in the Ivory Tower?

Is it in a man well traveled?
The woman who has roamed?
Is it in a scholar
Pouring over tomes?

Is it in the swami?
The guru with three Eyes?
Is it in the mantra?
Does this make one wise?

Is it in the one who levitates?
Out of body travels?
Is this where all mysteries
Open and unravel?

Does one find discernment
In lives lived full throttle?
Bud makes you no wiser
At the bottom of the bottle!

Is it in our riches
For which our lives are sold?
Why is it that Solomon
Valued wisdom over gold?

I believe true wisdom
Comes from God's own Word
It comes when one is
EMPTY
When one fears the
LORD

It comes when one is humble
Has nothing left to show.
Then one can admit
That he really
DOESN'T KNOW!

It comes when Spirit rises!
When Jesus makes us free!
It will be a crown of rubies
Wisdom.

RICH ETERNALLY!

The fine print on my face
SøułSurvivør Apr 2018
My face is full of laughter
My eyes are dried of tears
But there's fine print
You must read
Burned there from
All the years.

My cheeks are red & rosey
My lips turned up in smiles
But there are lines
Of grief and pain
From walking many miles.

Please take me at face value
For I laugh... I'm laughing still!
But I've endured
Much hardship
For it was God's will.

But if I had not suffered
This peace I'd not enjoy
If I had not known sorrow
I would not fathom Joy!

See the fine print on my face
Those lines that I do wear
Read wisdom in
My countenance
Yes, it is written there.

To every man or woman
Who have known this part
You may have lines
Upon your face

But beauty's in your heart!

APOLOGIES [not a poem]
SøułSurvivør Apr 2018
I have been gone a long time. Returning for a few hours, then disappearing again. I've been ghosting you guys for a while. A lot has been happening in my life. I won't go into the details, because I don't want this post to be too long. Leave it to say that we all have our cross to bear. I'm not going to make excuses, either. I didn't place enough value on this site, plain and simple. And in the process of doing that I neglected friends. For that I am deeply sorry. Please forgive me! I will really make an effort to give this site the attention it deserves... Respect my friends in the manner in which they are due. Can we press delete? Let me try to start all over again. I really do love you, my absence notwithstanding. And I wish nothing but blessings on you all!

Mars is Red ~ Venus is Blue
SøułSurvivør Apr 2018
Mars is red, an angry shade
With knuckles like
A sickle's blade

His right hook
has might in store
He lays her on
The threshing floor

There he whacks
The chaff from wheat
She's just a dog
For him to beat...

Mars is red
Venus is blue
Black as well
A nasty hue

Her friends tell her
To up & leave
For all the beatings
She's recieved

She stays down
On knees to pray
That Mars would simply
Go away...

He will not
She's bound to lose
Red & blue...
A purple bruise.

Duchess of Dawn
SøułSurvivør Apr 2018
She sits a high seat
The Duchess of Dawn,
A sequin of silver
To skein of silk sewn.

She twinkles on peacock,
The hue of the haze,
The moon, just a ghost,
Bows down at her gaze.

He swears His fealty,
His heart she has won,
But she will bend knee
To the face of the sun!

A figment of dreamers,
A tear we all cry,
A rhinestone of crystal
On the face of the sky.

She has a light fragrance,
To her scent we are drawn.
But she's as a vapor,
Here... and then gone.
Her name is Venus

The Duchess of Dawn.

Queen Of The Night
SøułSurvivør Apr 2018
Empress of cacti
Queen of the Night
She is resplendent
A fairie in flight
Glowing... a phosphor
With her inner light

The moon, her companion
They dance in the dark
Wooing and spooning
A'courting a spark
But they'll hearken to morning
Yes... they'll soon part...

They mourn at their parting
Such is their plight.

Her face alabaster
Her fingers so slight
She's proud and she's perfect
Her shoulders pure white
Of noblest bearing

The Queen of the Night.

Their hearts are made
of solid Stone
The mortar is of ice
Beneath their weight
The people groan
They pursue every vice

They hold the world
in their hands
Red and slick with blood
They subdue the
people of all lands
Drowning in the flood

Yes, they are the money men
They move with cunning feet
They and their offspring
Rule again
They're known as "The Elite"

They build their Fortress
strong and lofty
They live in the high Towers
They'll make them oh so craftily
Of Privilege and Power

They've hewn the rock
From quarry stones
In the deepest well
They've built
Their works upon our bones
They've risen straight
from hell

But they will find
their edifice
So beau-ti-fully wrought
When there can
be no recompense
Their works will
fall and rot

There will be
no hiding place
No rocks they
can crawl under
They will see God's
wrathful face
And be torn asunder!

My pain is only in this world
In it I'll be vexed
But I'll pass the Gates of Pearl

Joy Eternal's in the next!

Blazing in its death
Somewhere there's a baby
Taking her first breath

There's a tree that's
just been felled
By a lightning bolt
It's burning
There's a man
Who loves a lass
Weeping for his yearning

There is a mountain rising up
Beneath the ocean's depths
There's a promise
That was made
Which was never kept

There's a storm
That's moving in
To quench a Raging Fire
There's woman who is old
Burning with desire

However viewed, the universe
Under Nature's Veil
Is very like your own true face
However wan and pale

The Parables, the metaphors
The things that poets speak
Are in the moon and sun and stars
We have only to seek

When our sun goes Nova
When all mountains fall
We will, at last, perceive our God

The Ruler of us all.

I am so sorry to have gone AWOL for so long. I have a lot of excuses, but none of them are sufficient. I want to spend a few days on this site so I can make up for lost time. I've been on Facebook way too much... It can be very addictive, and because of my health it's difficult for me to juggle social media. But I know a lot of my friends here don't put their poetry on Facebook. So I want to spend some days here to catch up with my poetic brothers and sisters. I've missed you terribly! Its 1:30 in the morning so I have to get some rest now. But I'll be back in the morning.

I really love you.
