on a silver spoon
made simple to swallow,
though hard to learn
give a gift,
that blossoms forever
a real chance,

this wind a feather
brushing against my face
  land on the horizon
for a life anchored at sea
my seamstress, the crow
who fears only yesterday
waits so patiently for my wings to grow
as cornfields sway
in a harvest moon's glow

through a thunder laden desert I walk without rain
as hands of a clock I circle
without gain
a cheetah on a greyhound day
through a dust drenched mirage
  a thirst kept dry
a vulture in the early night sky

waves of blue prisms crest on and on
below the minds eye in our aquarium
tropical drinks for thirsty dreams
lava flows in radiant steams,
into coral caverns
safe from all but the tides
of life

string for a tail
I'm a runner
and I am frail
spring for my
heart
I am bound
to come apart
and as I let go
the dogs run to hunt me down
like
paper wings on a
killer whale
a strange life since I jumped from the ocean
out of my bramble patch
and into motion

we grow like patience and wisdom
waiting for the rain to lend us sway
every petal greedy for its solar savior
we know we are getting our share
on back order a late blooming pair.

we shall  cast shade everywhere
when the clouds finally part,
and our time has come
these two blossoms
will bloom as one
