Wishing to be warm
They thought about each other
In each others arms

Embraced in the warmth of heart
Ignited by loves fire

She read my poem
But she wasn't impressed by the tone
She expected Shakespeare

But I'm not the one

I have no bliss
For a woman to wish
To be my own

She read how I write
And I guess she don't like
What I got going on

She expected Bukowski
Not a poet this lousy

I should've gave up
But it was they way she aroused me
That kept me writing profoundly

Yet I'm still left lonely

The price I paid
Was the cost I lost
Because she expected Robert Frost

She read my poem
But it was only me

She got

I'm not like the sunlight, I'm not warm and bright
My rays don't sparkle nor glisten with light
People aren't drawn to me in the summer haze
They don't spend their afternoons adoring my gaze

I'm more like the moonlight within the darkest nights
Not bright nor beautiful but still providing some light
My rays are soft and gentle, peaceful as such
I won't burn nor blister the people with my touch

And though I arent as loved, nor am I as romanticized by poets
I'll hide in the shadows of silver clouds, You'd hardly even notice
But I'll give you what I can, I'll listen to your woes
So even on the darkest nights, you won't feel so alone

So come sit upon the rooftops, every once in a while
Rugged up in a blanket, show me that perfectly imperfect smile
Cause even though I can't provide the same love, as the sun gives days
I promise I'll stay by your side, giving you little glisten of moonlight
Forever and Aways

Different types of lights with different types of lives
Though moonlight can be just as nice as the sun

You keep pouring sorrow
into my glass that is
already full.
You pour
and you pour,
until it overflows,
and then you pour
some more.

Our lives mean more than a nine to five
and just because you’re breathing
doesn’t mean that you’re alive.

She was named after love,
and letters were exchanged
between lovers in her name

Poets found their muse
when she visited their hearts
and I was one of them

But my love never
reached her heart
like hers did mine

And so she left,
when my stubborn heart was
aching to be laced with hers

She left,
and my eyes were searching,
yearning for her

Dear Heyam,
I swear on love letters
and you
For it is the last poem
I write about you
The name Heyam -هيام- means ardent love in Arabic, that was my lover’s name. She’s the ex I’m always writing about, and I pray to Aphrodite that this is the last poem I write for her.

An idiot is harmless,
Until that idiot falls in love,
Then they’re willing to do anything,
For the person they’re in awe of.

Whether its building a new world,
Or burning the old one down,
They’ll stop at nothing,
To give their love a crown.

Now if that love fades,
And they are left weeping,
They could take one of two paths,
Both will leave an empty heart unsleeping.

Path one is war and rampage,
Destroy everything in their way,
Path two is depression and tears,
They may cause their own doomsday.

Either way an idiot is harmless,
Until that idiot falls in love,
And if you happen to cross that idiot,
Beware for they do not care, they are deprived of---------
i might be an idiot in love.
