Long street Cape Town
Natural Rhythm. Hey Mr. Guitar, keep on strumming them strings. Then play me a song that will keep us all moving. Keep all of the ladies, just a shaking their thing; That will keep everybody in the room dancing, To the natural rhythm. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm in my head. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm as I lay here in your bed. Bounce to the rhythm of all of the drums. The drumbeat booms against your chorus of twiddling thumbs; Demanding your attention at the top of their voice. The low beat shriek, as we bang on the drums. Come on everybody and dance to the beat; The natural rhythm, that flows through you and me. The invisible hand, that guides our every step, Makes you bounce to the beat of every word that I have said. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm in my head. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm as I lay here in your bed. Keep on banging the drum to the sound of my rhythm; Keep on dancing and keep on giggling. Keep on keeping it real, for the people in the street; Keep on keeping it banging, to the funkiest beat. You see I got this natural rhythm, that’s in all God’s men And you also got the rhythm in your head, in your head. ‘Cause the rhythm of my rhyme, will drop right on time, As long as the sun is shining and I'm feeling irie eyed; As long as the bongo’s keep on banging in the smoky background, As long as to be rich, means more than acting the clown. You see the rich get the women, because to be rich is to be a **** And this is the best way to get the women. Flash a *** of cash at the latest one you think is pretty; Tell her you are loaded and pay her the money. Buy the woman you like; moneys all that you've got. I'm happy being poor; it's freedom at no cost. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm in my head. I’ve got a natural rhythm in my heart and soul; I’ve got a natural rhythm as I lay here in your bed. (C)2011 Aa Harvey. All Rights Reserved.

Cedric McClester It’s just a cogent observation We never was a civilized nation So what’s the point in now losing patience With the fact that we’ve been complacent About gun violence as you might have guessed Has us returning to the wild wild West ‘Cos the bullets fly with remarkable success And so few of us rise up to even contest We never was a civilized nation Let the so-called Indians make that citation Based on their years of deprivation With seemingly little or no cessation Ask the victims of the atom bomb Whose shockwaves could be felt form Japan to Guam Had them on their knees reciting the 23rd Psalms When the mushroom cloud settled there was an irie like calm We never was civilized And that’s a sad fact Today we can Google every single act Of past atrocities from way way back No sense in exceptionalists becoming outraged When the examples are there page after page Under a glaring spotlight they’re center stage Ask the African slaves who were shackled and caged We never were civilized So the chickens came home to roost And they didn’t even have to be induced Once the hounds of hell had been cut loose Now they’re asking, “What we gonna do?” See this didn’t just happen out of the blue And it’s clear to us there has to be a missing ***** When the Gog and Magog start getting through Cedric McClester, Copyright (c) 2015.  All rights reserved.

WE NEVER WAS A CIVILIZED NATION
Movement of time collides with tear drop melody darkened angel to final day symphony: gun blasts in homeland enter familiar flesh- different tongues conceal common threads that makes us wounded souls call for God in bomb dimpled lands- far from American eyed reach and inside amidst spiritual sands Treading with foot print patterns around rock’s pure holiness meditating in temples laden in gold tributes seeking truth’s distant comfort guns blast in homelands families wonder why- pain embraces consciousness dripping hints of salvation into thick Iron pools of Christ’s calling red horse not so distant seven seals awakening run back to one it’s time to find love

Irie
'Twas the way she said, ...be sure to call me, don't forget... then turned off her phone, 3 days net I cast her a line will she bite or let free? readily lost from mind the bait was me! Oh mused from her loving her plaything, her joy. I spat out love poemz Less haste did annoy Lifted kindred spirit, no more wobe-gone for me was but a lie from a Strom too blinded to sea "You and I are going to have a great love affair." Should have been warning Foundeld on note in sunlight morning I asked the project wood It for-told me, "Why Bother?" Alone in my room, to ration or despair Ignore nature's warning, 'tis up to me, I declare. Sealed my fate... I'm strong, been here before, I'm ready for this...this...this time winning! FOOL Her's unslaved, mine unscathed night, was just the begining! Oh the joys, Such sweetness up to the edge, but not quite ***** As promised her lore THE everything abash Irie romming back, gonna get IT, this time? Maybe mohr The musing doest stop, genuine dost frey, Lovings subside Betrayl dost pay "It will melt your mind" Were the last words I herd all in due time her torture, my absurd Communicate?   Communicate she says? Why were not those words so heards Whence whining and pining decays? Hypocrispy so blatant it must be ignored, and the melt of the mind gets restored For it was up to me All along on this journey The most painful part Is I always did see This dance with the devil The game of fairie, My loves lorn lost To the leanhaun shee

There ain’t nothing like livin’ on love Smoking Newports in the sunshine Waiting for the time to pass Under crystalline blue skies People in the circle The faces come and go But we’re still all here together We are originals fo’ sho’ He just ran out of squallies But there’s no need to go and cry ‘Cause we’re the kind of friends That help each other to get by Ain’t nothing like livin’ on love So I thank the stars above Because I’m happy with lifestyle And that hasn’t always been the case There’s no one else in this whole world Who can cure the lonely days No one else could show me All these new and peaceful ways Of loving what’s around me Accepting bad and great Ain’t nothing like livin’ on love When you were coming back From your first date with Lucy We saw those diamonds in the sky So relieved you let her try To change your views and cope with stress ‘Cause she was only wishing you the best Ain’t nothing like livin’ on love Good vibes come from all around Never ceasing to astound The fellow with the thickest walls Even gets knocked down But we all come and gravitate Showin how easy one can change My pride comes from teaching Others these irie ways Ain’t nothing like livin on love The fall will come, and people leave Our sweet humble abode With unspoken words, we know It’s time to walk our separate roads But these bonds have tied us deep at heart We’re always here in spirit When college comes And you’re scared to start Remember how I’m here cheerin’ Ain’t nothing like livin’ on love

I’m good with nothing, That’s why I have options. Do I need to convey that to you Stranger? Is there a point? Koz all I really wanted was to turn off the lights And for now make everything seem alright But you don’t have the drive. Ya know, I like me And I was excited to show you some of my favourite pieces But you can’t won’t don’t see me And purely logical understanding does not naturally lead me to all irie. My preference is you Stranger Because what you presented was honest ( and not without its beauty) But your absences make me forgetful Especially when an eX can mark that spot just as well. Your existence is rapidly mythical And so what was once just a notion Becomes more of an inevitability. No apologies necessary

WE NEVER WAS A CIVILIZED NATION
When my demons catch me up, and I fear that I may falter... I call upon the most high, and take my shadows to the altar. Light a candle and from that many, no time to curse the darkness. If a single heart can choose to beat strong, the strength of love beats those heartless.
