Sweet Getaway
T2m Sep 2014
Close your eyes honey.
Take my friendly hand
Let me carry your worries
Close your mind ' s eye
I know a place you' d like.
I know of this island
It has a comfy house on the sea
shore ' s sand .
The house encircled with a plush
lawn ,
And on this island the sun never
frowns .
See her laying on the sea, but she
will be up by dawn .

Can you hear the sweet song from
the brushes ?
Can you see how the water , to the
shore , rushes ?
Look in the pretty clear sky
See the variety of beautiful birds
flying by.
Please honey , let me make your
heart smile .

In this sweet get away
let me bear your pain and kiss your
worries away .

Poets Not Plagiarist
T2m Sep 2014
With a quill over paper
For muse, we are excavators
We pour out our hearts
So joy, love, peace to impart
To hold a torch over emotional darkness
To fill each others hollowness
Its for the love we write

When we write
We are called poets
A name fitting and right
But your theft just says you are mentally poor
Reducing you further to a mere thief
And nothing close to a P
Not to talk of a poet.

The moon is not a thing you can steal
Trust me its pure folly
That's a dumb idea to conceive
Posting others' poems
Posting like a poet?
Like seriously
How does that sound to 'your' hearing?
DUMB
Even so, to even dare, you must be too dumb to realize its dumb

To acknowledge is not so hard
Its just adding one more line on your pad
I want to deceive myself that you are not too dumb to know that
If you didn't know, now you do.

PS: You could post my poem
That does not make you a poet
It just makes you a thief
Suffice it to say, the worst kind
Without robbing me of the fact that I'm a POET

....the way she walks and the way she talks
She is the fairest of folklores
She drains me of words
And drowns me in thoughts
She is the reason I smile
Even amidst a milli reasons to cry;
The magic mat on which I fly
Deep into the fluffy clouds of fantasy
Where only she and I will be,
Watching our lives unfold like a golden scroll
Living every day as it comes......

War

War
Soldiers sown in the field
And bodies usually are the yield
Bodies of strangers , friends and
colleagues
Leaving survivors with long lonely
monologues
Rendering life without taste or feel.

In this clash of elephants
The casualties include animals ,
civilians , even infants.
That is to say but the least .
Vultures gather in circles to feast
On the remains of once beautiful
living beings .

Where then is the profit of war ?
When rebuilding cost so much
more
Both humanly and materially .

The Broken
T2m Sep 2014
I meant to pen a happy poem
But somehow, ended up with this same old song
Heart in shreds
Dry tears shed
Overran with a fresh fload as a awake
Been too broken to, again, break
But, that's just a thought, I still break anyways.

Does the sun still smile?
This gloom has lasted too long a time
Does the stars still twinkle?
No equation is, again, simple
Do we still know beauty?
Everything is gone dark and ugly
We must all be a broken people

Weeping last only for the night
Morning is going to bring a new reason to smile
Though the night may seem to have lasted too long
Surely there is always a new song
We could either wait or
Create our own options, which most often wrong.

I am broken
You are broken
We all are broken
But if we treat the threads as a whole dress
Not as single individual threads
Then we are on the way to redress
No more broken me
Nor broken you
Just a healed and mended people.

Looking For Love
T2m Sep 2014
Love most have died centuries ago
She died with Juliet and Romeo
Now her bones lay dust infested
Romeo's to the left
Juliet's to the right.
Wishing they discussed,
Try to figure out how it all turned sour.

If love is dead,
Who or what are we then?
Excavators, that's who we are
Digging furiously, who cares how far
The grave of the duo love birds must be near
Find it, find love at its undiluted sphere.

Enveloped in this fantasies box
Love becomes no more than a hoax
Love is what it is
A beautiful broken bike if you please
Its too dangerous to ride
Yet no choice but the ride
So if you must, put on your safety gear.

Love does not live inside TVs
Nor magazines
She has left the internet and movies
She now lives in the simplicity of you and I.

You may have looked too hard
Yet you still can't find.
This you must figure out
You are looking in the wrong sites.

For The Flesh
T2m Sep 2014
We let lust lure us
To beds beside Belthus
Making mountains murmur and
moan for pleasures
Fulfilling the flesh follies that fills
us

There , there trample on suitors
Creeping like crickets on sea shores
Lit little lamps and lead us
Through these things so , so
treacherous

Sunshine shearing our skin sores
As we walk and work the wild soils
All ail has ended mid- course
As Home! Home! Hauls the voice of
Jesus .
Belthus in this poem means no
more than a suggested name but it
is suppose to be a personification
of unquenchable urge for things of
the flesh

A Compromised Generation
T2m Aug 2014
Tornado of thoughts
Whirling with this troubled clouds.
How did we get here?
The answer? Who cares?
The trampled remember the past
The trampler, in the present bask.

Humanity, the trending fraud.
Ages ago, who would've thought
Man is reduced to fear
Death lurks everywhere
Though that is the least of them all
Other accompanying devils deal their far worst blows.

Is it still a man's (human's) world?
My boomeranging thought.
If it still is
Justify this.
How come there are more guns
Than there are humans?
More killings than births?
More wars than peace-advancement seminars?

If truth has only one perspection
By now, we should be standing on the same vantage point

The world ie now no more than a chess board
We are; the chess pawns;
Bishops and knights;
With queens and kings,
At the summit of this prism

Is this what humanity was designed to become?
I bet, we are just a compromised generation.

The Boomerang
T2m Sep 2014
Again and again
Those same words you promised
you wouldn ' t say
Even when it causes us both pain
And take away laughter from the
way we play
This must be a boomerang I dare
say .

The bet is made and the cards laid
The path we must here create
The path to that place of bliss we ' ve
prayed
And away from the destination we
dread
Though we momentarily strayed
Back to the right track we ' ve
always steered.

Look with your minds eyes
And you will see the beauty of these
fields
Where true love , in wait, lies
Always ready and handy with his
shield
To fence us from tears and sties
From all our wrongs in words and
deeds.

We may ail but love always heals
Let it hurt a little
For it is a lot better than all lost

I am guilty of all you've been told
I admit to being cold,
Mean, inconsiderate and selfish
Not minding this beauty without blemish

Have I used you? yes, guilty
And I will do it again as need be
Forgive me for the wrong I have committed
Though a wrong carefully coined and crafted

I have used you in so many ways
May be those even wrong,
Dear poetry, you must endure the pain
Because whenever I get the chance, I will use you again.

Play , play , play , please play
Those sweet songs and drive my

As our souls entangle in the

Oh , what sweet journey into

Let ' s dance again ,
My only repeller of sadness and

Let ' s dance again , but this time

Hold me close and hug me tightly
So i can smell that sweet scent of

And listen to the thumping of your

Let ' s dance dear lovely angel
Till we fall asleep with a song of

I eat it
Nothing is as much sweet

I drink it
Nothing has ever tasted like it
Not even the finest of wines

I inhale it
Nothing sustains like it
The purest form of oxygen.

I surf on it
Unimagined beauty
Not even the biggest tide

I fly on it
Higher than any pair if wings can take you
No even those of an eagle

I puke it
And I lick all of it
It taste as fresh as from the oven.

Nothing compares to poetry
Ask every poet
He/she will tell you same.

Rhetorical Questions
T2m Aug 2014
Why should I recite a poem?
When poems do not make the point
Why should I sing a lullaby?
When you cannot make gold of columbite
Please pardon these stream of senseless sentences

Why should I wear the baby a bib?
When there is no food, not a bit
Why should I plant and not water rose?
And yet anticipate it grows
Trust me prayers pay side by side practice

Why should I tell tales of times untold?
When time –the teller- never told
Why should I curse, condemn and crucify the crown?
When the crown is another’s clown
Please forgive me for my rhymes are full of follies

Haven’t these ills been told by many?
Yet those a-thrones do not give a penny?
Havent these been written in poetry plays?
Played on the crown who laughs and pays
Ah, the human heart is hardened

Will we ever change this attitude?
And put an end to this servitude
Would that not put an end to this penurious life?
And make men once again well-wife
Once was life, now it is just strife

I wish we will live another once.

Barking orders from behind a
shiny mahogany table
' Bring me my . . . . . .
Where is Mr. . . . . . .
You **** fool , how many times
will i have to tell you. . . . . '
Spinning left and swinging right in
a fluffy comfortable white chair-
Let ' s not talk about the shiny cloths
he wears-
While his people wreath in abject
poverty
I call it white - washed kind of
slavery
Their faces say it all
But he is always cold and calm
His Italian shoes keeping him high
and fine
His words meant life or strife
Pain or gain
Wage or cage
To an extreme , sometimes even
death
A fitting representation of fear and
dread
To him laughter is reproach
And painful groans applauds
So that all that brought joy was
destroyed
And the painful restored
All in the ploy to keep us confined
To a ' ran ka ya dade ' kind of songs
But in all his plots this is where he
flawed
He left the pet hungry for too long
So that the once tamed sweet thing
began to growl
Instead of the sweet songs she use
to hum
Until the growl grew into a roar
No one is meant to have that power
No one is meant to have that power
No one is meant to have that power
So the hour came for power to
change hands
And the exchanged brought it
change
All the people' s pains began to
wear
And their fears were no longer
there
Even the sun ' s smile grew wider
And our mothers' sweet songs got
louder
Now instead of barking orders
opinions are sort
Instead of " i want it all"
It is "let us all have it"
And no longer a one man ' s calls
I remember this silly story once
told
A couple of men went to a salon
Ordered equal amounts of the same
***
Drank down and called out for
more
They all drank equal ration
Same in proportion, equal in all
dimensions
Until it was time to return home
Then this reality dawned
One was too drunk to walk on his
own
So that the other had to carry him
home
Such is the case with power
Allow two people equal amounts of
its shower
And certainly one will be more
drunk than the other
Becoming a magnet that either
attracts or repels
From all this story , this is what i
hoped to tell
This myopia i hope to correct and
this notion dispel
That all men are wired for power
Power is neither a cap for all heads
Nor one for all men
No wonder some act dump then
It is because they don ' t belong
there
For a man to fittingly man this seat
The man must be one fit for it
Oh , and by man , i mean women too
We must then be true as we choose
But sadly our prejudiced and
biased minds
Makes us compromise
And structural demise ? that is
certain
No more self- deceiving lies .
Setting the wrong man to rule is
like setting the sun against the
moon
Cos soon there won ' t be a sun nor a
moon
All there will be is just gloom
So shake off the blindfolds
And loosen the strong holds
Of ethnic chains
Tribal veils
And religious scales
Which are all pluses to our pain
There is no more room for miss fits
Power is a cap only for those it fits
"Ran ka ya dade" is a statement in Hausa which mean "may you live long" mostly used in sycophansy by commoners or royal councils

The sugâ galantly stand around
with their spears
Dressed in goat ' s skin with painted
faces and hair
Their countenance say ' do not dare '
A direct contrast of the square ' s
light air,
Which is exagerated by the
tipsiness from the locally brewed
beer .

With dances the festival began in
earnest ,
Each dancer stamping hard to
make his beats the loudest.
The tipsy audience laughing and
cheering their best ,
Men, like chimpanzees , beating
their bare breast.
Mandiang is all, anything else is
being put to rest.

The drull drum is a - play for the
sugâ dance
Marking the ****** of all that has
and is to chance ,
The majestic monarch march for
the entrance
And the time for the rain - making
ritual to commence.

So it, at the end , rained as usual ,
The welcome crown of this annual
ritual .
Mandiang is an annual event
amongs my tribe , it is that time of
the year set aside to appreciate the
past havest and hope for regular
rain and good croping season.
Sugâ is a soldier in our ancient
kingdom. NT all this now is

Where our hearts will never , again ,

The moon has aged thus grand
Here , sit with me on this sea

From whence we will watch hand

While we listen to our loving hearts

Lets count the night sky' s stars
And tell how lovely and beautiful

Lets watch the milky way fall to the

And make silent wishes in our

Ahh , beautiful lay here by my side
And lets listen to nature ' s lovely
lullaby
As we recount the great time

The Shackles of Love
T2m Aug 2014
Sadness may be a lover's world
Loneliness its dark gray clouds
Yet, love's beauty stands out
Like a spotless white dove
Flying against, a somewhat, eternity of blackness.

Oh the silly things we do for love
She smites us and make us cry
But away we wipe the tears and wear a hopeful smile
So that all pain gets concealed behind a thick mud wall of love

The longer the cry lasts
The tears begin to melt the mud wall away.
All the flickering stars of hope fades away,
Of emptiness, loneliness and emotional pains the heart begins to ail

Each day dawns wearing a new face
The sun smiling and yearning for a smile back
In the rays of the sun
You will feel the warmth of my love
And in the stillness of every song
Hear my heart beating strong
Oh yes, it is all in love and nothing wrong

If this love is true
Though it burns me and you,
Even through this emotional storm
She will bring us safely home.

I love you, dearly, I really do.

No one could endure the tediousness
Only her and her alone.

She is blue ,
The brilliant type of blue
So that she glitters e ’en in the

So sweet is the song that she hums
She is the blue bird on the purple
post

She is pretty and she knows
Purr , purr she goes
As though she wants to fly
Preen and preen oil to her feathers
she apply
She is the blue bird on the tall
purple post

She leads a life so modest
As though ignorant she is the
prettiest
She lives to the dictates of nature
So that humans love and envy her
culture
She is the blue bird on the purple

Remain hither so I can watch
No go thither to our thatch
And I will watch and forget to go to

But away you fly and into the
clouds you sweep
She is the pretty blue bird on the

Such peace and tranquility only

The crickets ' chirp and frogs '

The tic- tocking hands of the clock
All blends well in a perfect
harmony
In a song , lollaby or symphony
Such that even the sun could not
help falling asleep
For this song touches from within,

In this pleasure i let myself wallow
And watch the moonlight caress my

As i listen to the music playing

That soft, sweet and gentle sound ,
Whence joy, peace and love is

Sleepy and drowsy sun
Waking young moon
Hush, hush distant frogs’ croaks
Swishy-swoshy, rustle of breeze blowing dry grasses.
Every lives’ moment is a movie.

Plush green fields
Sweet melody of birds chirping
The crunching sound of beach’s white sand underneath our feet
Rush, rush sound of the sea
Whistles of patrolling sea gulls
The ****, **** thumping of a heart.
Every lives’ moment is a beautiful song

Red haired dollies
The backyard trees and swings
The childhood crush
The race to meet a tired returning mother.
The humble lamp-lit dinners
The late night story tales.
Every lives’ memory is a classic painting

As a clock counts lives’ time
She drips memories, pictures and songs
This beauty untold
Infinite melodies unsung
That only a keen and positive heart can hear.

Being human is the greatest gift I've received.
I am just trying to admit my flaws
I fault now and then, so just in case I have but a straw
Just know I love you too much
So much that On this thought I stucked
"What will become of me should I lose you?"

In this certainty
Doubts beclouds me
Not doubts whether I love you or not
But doubts of what if I go wrong
The human in me assures I surely would
Should I do,
I never meant to.

Just in case
In my flaws
I go wrong
I mean these words
I AM SORRY
I pray you not to get weary

My flaws are but a stream
Flowing side by side my love for thee
Both of which collects into an ocean
An endless ocean of love affection and adoration.

Just in case I go wrong
This you must before hand know
I AM SORRY.

A People Like That
T2m Aug 2014
Born to the certainty of dying
Then where is the reason for trying?
Striving to keep and guard this already lost life
Is it the yearning to live for just another day?
Or an effort to evade death?
- A lost battle even from the onset -
Or the fear of death itself?
I say, it is because man was not meant to die
But looking at the cards in hand
Die we must
Then why all the fuss?
We are a people like that.

The tricks life on us
He puts us into different skin tone
Different tongues
And places us on different points of the earth
The subtle differences that have turned us into gladiators
Earth the arena
And life the emperor.
Our clashes and wars
His entertainment
Our sorrow and pain
His pleasure
The differences that should've been complementary
Have brought us immeasurable kaos and calamity
We are a people like that.

Imagine a world where everything is the same
Gender, human beings only dividing line
But everything else, the same
Same skin tone and tongues
Same faces and same names
All men called Johns
And women, she-Johns
Imagine the boredom of such a monotonous world.
I guess being different is beautiful after all.
And maybe, that is why we are a people like that.

Honest and pure hearts
Pressured and pressed hard
So hard that everything assumes the form of a choice
Because the heart is poised
So blindly we delve
To satisfy this yearning self

A new breeze is blown
The air, with new smell, is strewn
Or at the least that's what the heart warns
My heart is ***** of rationale
So that it is drowned in troubles I can't tell

Like the glaring sun
I see the doubts your heart has spun
“Wait dear Nerat, you need a rethink”
The heart said with a tap on the shoulder and a wink
So some truth in coincidences start to blink

Fight or flight
Adrenaline's rush inside.
To see beyond the eyes, the heart strives
But reality scares the eyes
So that, perceived beauty begins to wear blemishes
And a beautiful lawn begins to grow bushes

As certain as the sun I have resolved
In my heart, I have no doubts about this love.

Why do we seek to do and be what
others approve ?
When our hearts crave for what it
loves
Crave to be with the moon and
stars above ,
Or fly like a lovely untamed white
dove
And dance to the pure rhythm of
nature ' s groove .
Thus in this misplaced quest , what
we have we lose .

Slowly , now , we are crawling
In a quest for a place more homely.
Slowly , slowly still crawling
Towards that place we spent our
whole childhood dreaming .
A place filled with laughter from
fulfilled dreams.
Life just whispered in my ears
" Why do you bear this much fear ?
Cast your mind beyond now and
here
And you see what beauty life drips
here and there,
Beauty plenty enough for all to
have a share " .

Finally we have found a place,
That place with true solace
Where our laughters brilliance
Collides with the mid- day' s sun -
rays
Spilling happiness and brightening
our hitherto sad faces .
At last the moment is come
No more wear from an endless
roam
Smile and merry for now we are
home
In joy and songs , dance and drums
Express your hearts newly found
freedom .

Giving me reason to go further .
“ It will be better ” you would say .
Around you I find a new reason to
smile ;
The energy to go a few more miles .

You, my friend , are a blessing in
many ways ,
In so many ways that I can not
eloquently say .
If you had wings, I will be the first
to call you angel.
May God furnish you with grace,
And under His wings take you to a
higher place .

If , ever, I have to choose again ,
You will be stuck with me like a
stubborn stain .
I appreciate you and our
friendship.
God chooses how best to bless us,
You , my friend , are my own bundle
of favours.

My Christmas Song
T2m Aug 2014
Ding ****, the cathedral bell tolls
Songs sang , to welcome the priestly
son .
Come along let' s join in these songs ,
Even if we can ' t sing them , just
hum along
Follow the little shiny star
Though it seems too far
It ' s a sure guide to the manger
Where the royal family are .
Beat the drum some more
Celebrate in style and glamour
Give generously to carry others
along
Bringing all to the glory of this
beautiful song ;
Joy to the world, joy to the world.
Santa , oh dear Santa .
Glorious messenger
Give my girl a song
One that is perfect and dispels
everything that is wrong.
Oh dear Santa
She is my all
And thus she must know .
Give her a smile and hug from me .
And the kiss. . . . . . . . ?
Don ' t worry about that, I will do it
myself.
Merry Christmas my sweet angel.
Christmas in August.

EXECUTED BY SILENCE
T2m Jul 2014
In my quiet
I hear my heart cry;
My soul groan and moan;
And my stomach pregnant with 'these' hurts
But our complacent outside
Conceals the pain and hurt behind a plastic smile

The more we hurt inside
The broader and wider the feigned smile
Yet the hurt is grown so much
So that it taste bitter in the back of my tongue

We strain to tame and hide it
But it claws and claws. seeking to surface
Thus our worries in silence start eating at us
Gnawing on our essence a bite at a time
Still foolishly wearing the now worn  plastic smile

Some may say we die in silence
But i say we **** ourselves with it.
So those things we did not say be-time
We write and leave them by our dying bed's side
As though it was some suicide note

YOU ARE MY ALL
T2m Jul 2014
You are perfect
That very thing I need
You're my sunset
That very dream I've dreamed
When the earth could touch the sun
And our lips can kiss the moon
And every road does lead to you
You are my all
You are my all

You're my rainfall
The very drops of grace
As I stand tall
My strength is in your face
You've been called in every song
And it always makes me strong
Cause you are my perfect song
You are my all
You are my all

— The End —
