We are expected to put on make up for the same people who will just use and abuse us
Why do people define a girl as a boys plaything
We are so much more than that
We are united against a idea
The idea that trys to hold us back but we will not allow it
We will push a little harder then any guy out their, we will run a little faster
Just to prove that we are equal to them

Mother of Cowards
by Michael R. Burch aka "The Loyal Opposition"

So unlike the brazen giant of Greek fame
With conquering limbs astride from land to land,
Spread-eagled, showering gold, a strumpet stands:
A much-used trollop with a torch, whose flame
Has long since been extinguished. And her name?
"Mother of Cowards!" From her enervate hand
Soft ash descends. Her furtive eyes demand
Allegiance to her ****'s repulsive game.

"Keep, ancient lands, your wretched poor!" cries she
With scarlet lips. "Give me your hale, your whole,
Your huddled tycoons, yearning to be pleased!
The wretched refuse of your toilet hole?
Oh, never send one unwashed child to me!
I await Trump's pleasure by the gilded bowl!"

NOTE: My sonnet is a parody of the famous poem "The New Colossus" written about the Statue of Liberty by Emma Lazarus. If only you could see with the eyes between your eyes,
And think with the minds behind your mind.
There is no distance between us.
No degree of separation.
We are consiousness.

You are my extension.
The cord of our connection.
Our hearts beat in unison.

All paths lead back to one.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching
I have not one clue
What I could get you to show you I care
Or worthy thing I could do

Because you deserve more than I can afford
What I can make with my hands
I am broke so my options are limited
You are one person who understands

That's why we are perfect for eachother
If we are together that's all we need
In tune with the others thoughts
Minds can practically read

Above all we cherish our love
Put our relationship first
Endured a lot of ups and downs
Withstood the very worst

After five Cupids Days united
Only care that you are mine
The way celebrated doesn't matter
As long as you're my Valentine
For my soulmate

Welcome to the home of the free,
The land of the divided

Welcome to a land filled with greed,
The one-percent who have the need
To silence dissent, keep those below them
Complacent in a system that favors money
Over ethics and honesty

Welcome to a nation full of deceit,
Land of misinformation and misery.

Welcome to a nation where the wheels
spin propaganda for a leader.

Welcome to a nation where a leader
Forgoes democracy and takes a page
From a communist and dictator,
Crowning himself King of the ages.

Who needs dignity when you've got vanity?
Who needs honesty when you're a liar?

Welcome to a nation where truth doesn't matter
Welcome to a country on fire.

Divided, we stand, divided we fall.

America the Beautiful, America the tall.

Who will be there to save us all?
Inspired by Sixx: A.M.'s "Barbarians." What a strange timeline we live in these days.

A nation that seeks to craft
what the forefathers draft;
a declaration of independence,
a nation of acceptance and coexistence.

A nation that weaves laws
for the ones of different colors,
wears,
and of worship —
building a homage for them all.

A nation with the vision of a blend of culture,
welcoming them into progressing lands  that play the tune of harmony
as blankets them in safety.

A tolerant nation
of multicultural lands,
and foreign tongues.
Building Seven Pillars
that stand tall and high
to inspire and ingrain
tolerance in every
crannies and nooks of the nation.

This is UAE.

"If all of us met in real life,
and some one was being picked on or hurt,
We would come at the enemy
with the fury of countless words
and millions of suppressed feelings."
Right after I said this, Right after I smiled
(For the first time in a while)
Right after I let go of the hurt I felt.
My father yelled
And blamed me for what I didn't do.
Now I feel them all again
The hurt, mistrust and panic.
My hands are shaky, palms are sweaty
I feel like puking, or possibly crying,
My heart is racing, blood is running
Head is spinning
Feet feel like darting far away from him.
My mind can't help wondering
If what I said was true.

If it is
I wish we could meet
then my father would regret what he does.
