Gone in the labyrinth
of dense words
is the thin golden clew
that is the salvation out
for the gathering of lost poets.
The thread doesn’t exit
to the center,
to meaning,
just a thick grove of forest
where they meander forever
in the definitions all around them,
each footfall erased in
the revision of those before.
I was greeted early by your oncoming storm
A whirlwind with a violent, turbulent swarm.

Through the power of spirit, we will end your suffering
Endless thoughts of chaos will cease their fluttering

I see you there; I know you're fighting
Beyond the walls, beyond the lightning.

I can't hold you right now, like I know I should be
But keep on fighting until I can bring you close to me

Our days will be golden; they can never be taken away
As soon as your souls collide, I promise, I'll make everything okay

There is a crater of eternal darkness now where the illumination of your beautiful smiles once triumphed.

Take me clear into mist and cotton.
Launch a rocket through heavens door.
What a rush to be perched from a bird's eye view
and see man's triumphs laid bare like toys.

Through history, we've chased the wind.
Forever grasping at fleeting breaths.
And now we've brought all of man's glory and sins
so much higher than where we began.
The McG in Me Nov 2019
It is true we presume
When in darkness no light;
With thought no peace
And no peace with love.

Why do hearts melt
On an icey soul,
With indifference to caring
Selfish love is lifes troll.

One day pure bliss,
Warm joy over valleys;
Like ripe fruit scented kisses
Their end never foretold.

Another of twisted dead wood
Around a rotten apple.
Once bitten in haste
By passions of longing;
And motives of wanting.

In his law that we should
Strive to be loving and righteous .
We shall march through deep valleys;
Be a fleeting moment of
Great beauty and rage,
Shall we be brave enough;
To stamp our seal of love
On this timeline of old.

Define yourself in your own terms
Let triumph wash over you
Bask in the glow of your own definitions
Walk free surrounded in your own truth
One man walked on the moon
As one man learned to walk again
One woman sacrificed for a nation
As one woman became a citizen of her new home
A family of famous daredevils
And a family that got their son clean
Don't let others define your triumph
Be great
Act great
Revel in your accomplishments
And love your limits while breaking them
The mind moves mountains.
Poetry in motion proves louder than…
The lies that corrupt our lives.

The stinging songs of society will expire,
Exasperating sighs of the soul will tire,
The truth will triumph no matter the cost,
Before every crown surely comes the cross.

If poetry is the power to end every plight,
I’d gladly say, “This is why I write!”

Before you see through my eyes, walk my line,
Breathe through my lungs and tour my mind.
Travel through my veins, through my very flesh,
You will understand why life is vain, a frail test.

As I’m…
Chased by the many demons in the night,
They compel me to make things right.
The pain in my chest becomes too tight.
And I’m seeing…
Tears that are not my own.
And I finally understand…
That which is sown is grown and eventually mown.

The skill and the will and the futile fights,
To prove the world isn’t black and white.

If poetry is the power to end every plight,
I’d gladly say, “This is why I write!”

I can soar on Eagle’s wings
And see the wider view it brings
My heart in happy triumph sings
As I prosper daily

I can see with keener eye
From my vantage point on high
I can bid my doubts goodbye
As I prosper daily

I can answer freedom's call
And with my acts give help to all
No true harm can my way fall
As I prosper daily
