I did not know that that would be the last time I saw you.

I wish I had known.

I wonder what I would have done differently.

"I'll call you tomorrow."
Stepped on the stage
Dancing in the light
Eyes on her
Spinning in the spotlight
She did her show
With rabbits and hats
A thrilling magic of trickery
Everyone in the act
But in the room
A man believed in her power
Yet the show ended with her
  Disappearing.
    Was her final act.
When it's the last time you saw her

People aren't made for it
Nature does it
Figure it out

The night was crisp as it can be in Autumn
A young boy I was, reaping candies around
For it was the night of the dead, a spooky sound
That buzzed in the air, an unearthly festive scare!

Full of youthful vigor and an energy unmatched
I ran into the darkness, in my hand, treats latched
In an alley unbeknownst to few in this town
A hazy figure stood, giving way to a stare down
It became clear that this was a fellow classmate
Who was well known for his wild, exuberant ways

Whoosh! We both see the reckless verve in our eyes
Whoosh! We run towards each other within great speed
In perfect synchronization, we tackled each other
Down the ground, like wolf pups we howled
Wrestling each other in true celebration
For this was truly an intense night of elation

I wash the brain with peace,
Synapse to sleepy synapse.
Themes may change from day to day,
The mind and will working that way.  Today,
It’s peace – a motif that I never ‘got’.
I’m one step nearer, sensing it.
Behavior freer, talk a bit…
I’m more polite, considerate.
Something’s taking ‘way the ****
That usually rolls around as chaos;
Something near to paradise’s
Innermost best aspect peace, is
Uppermost. I use this basis
For my practice,
Imaging, imagining, examining,
Pretending, willing…
All that matters is the stilling
Followed by activity that does some good.
(What I wish is that it would).
Meanwhile, I am smiling more and more.
This ‘peace wash’ must be working.

I'm exactly what you need
But your freedom
Tears down the kingdom
Now that's guaranteed
So come now and take the seed

Woven with secretions of midnights veil,
Its fur absorbs full moons light now stale.
Through its piercing eyes that follow shifting
shades, daring to attain its glare precariously drifting.

Abiding its time as night decays, fractured sights
let in the breath of inclement silence, coldness bites.
whispering through halls, but shuddering when
this onyx mystery speaks, winds shudder becoming thin.

This place is a citadel of muteness, where one
voice to be only spoken, it never gestures than
with some intent, but wears many facades
changing its outfits, ever enjoying its odds.

For what is life without a challenge, its master
returns, those whose thought he was the caster
when spoken through a ventriloquist of self
as who holds the blame not her, but himself.

I was blinded by your sparkling hand
Amused in every trick that you've done
Whispering spells as you wave your wand
Oh honey I think I'm in love with a magician

But just like magic, everything we had was not true
It was all lies and illusions
A product of my crazy imagination
Just like a magic trick, you disappeared leaving me without any clue
Crazy.
