Sura Mar 2020
always keep fighting
always stand tall.
even when you struggle
I won't let you fall.
always keep trying,
to love the life you live.
even when you're tired,
you've got some more time to give.
always be yourself,
even if you're strange.
let your freak flag fly,
and don't ever change.
always keep your head up,
you are not alone.
you've got an angel by your side,
and a family all your own.
always keep smiling,
even when life is tough.
and never, ever forget that
you are enough
I overcame a very rough point in my life, and wrote this poem as a thank you to those who helped.

This is the age.

The age of standing up for yourself no matter what knocks you down.

The age of being a warrior through and through but also knowing it's okay to break down some times.

The age of knowing your worth and accepting nothing less.

The age of power among women, lifting each other up instead of ruthlessly tearing each other down.

There is no sense in stepping on your fellow woman as she is up against the same enemy you are. You know that saying, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Well, let's put that into practice. Let's stand hand in hand with the women beside us because we cannot and will not be trampled. We have strength, worth, intellect, and kindness - the most lethal combination. Don't prove to others that you are powerful, you don't need their validation. Instead constantly show it to yourself. Emulate that bravery and despite what others believe, you will topple even the tallest mountains.

This is the age.

The age of women.

I love you more than I did long ago
Bond growing stronger with time
Cemented deeply throughout the years
Closer each step of the journey we climb

Some days fall backwards
Opposite way of our goals
We can succeed if we work together
No matter depth of life's holes
Today has been ****

I didn’t know
until you said it
how it felt
to be loved

I didn’t know
until you did it
how it felt
to be broken

I didn’t know
until you were gone
how it felt
to be lost

I didn’t know
until you didn’t matter
how it felt
to be stronger
from being in love, to being broken, to raise from the ashes

I was the tree in your forest,
          but you threw a match

on the undergrowth of my insecurities.

Never letting me grow, a potential

           to flourish, grow upwards,

But you burnt me down,
           every emotion was tinder's

I was ash below your feet,
              but when one is burnt

down to many times.

One becomes more resilient to
the flames that are lit on purpose.

Unyielding you lit to many matches,
and the last time one stood tall.

Untouched by your demoralization,
             and i grew past you

and now my forest is blossoming
         i grew ever stronger

now that your words burnt out.

Trauma
.
Is the scar
That buried itself
In my bones
No one sees
.

So no one knows
It is a hidden battle and how do you make them see the invisible
She Writes Feb 2020
when they ask me why i choose
to cover my body in pretty tattoos

I tell them it is to canvas the scars
from others attempting to mar

to wear my afflictions as a badge of honor
reminding myself that I am stronger

to show the world pain can be beautiful
that I am here, and I am unmovable

Sometimes,
life makes you into a
tiny seed
and throws you into a
pile of ****.

But do not be fooled.

And do not be brought down.

With the right thoughts
and the right actions,

that pile of **** can become

fertilizer

and help you grow even stronger
than before.
