You knew me as a poet,
You knew me as a writer,
But you knew me not as a singer.

You knew me as a fighter,
You knew me as a lover,
But you knew me not as a survivor.

You knew the zeal I have,
You knew the feel I have,
But you knew nothing of the risk.
After my accident, I was put on many medications - some of them carcinogenic but here I am.

Simplicity, complexity,
Simplicity causes
Only simple pain, but only simple pleasure
Safe but not satisfactory

Complexity causes
A complex pain and the best pleasure
A pain far too great, a pleasure far too good,
But is it worth the risk?

Standing with the shadows of the past
Looking at the radiance of tomorrow
On my feet, with my thoughts, on the verge
Of falling or holding on
Of gambling and risking all
Of breaking deeply either way:

To jump would break the night
*To persist would break the dawn

Now where do we go from here?

"Muffle the sound
like a chainsaw
to a birdsong.
Fowl play,
I suspect
foul play.
We owe
something.
Risk & rivalry
over silence."

I have known you for quite some time
You seem to be a riddle
One I can't quite figure out
Never opening your heart
Yet searching for love
I know you are scared
But isn't it the time to be bold?
Girl sometimes we have to take risks
In order to reach for what we desire
A poem I wrote for one of my friends...
'As telling lies
Is dangerous,
To it, you
Have to be averse! '

Parents, teachers
And society
Made me, cherish
This mentality.

Along the age road
The hardest way a new
Lesson I did upload.

Awaits those,
More risk
The truth
Who opt to speak!

For reporting strife,
Beating to
An inch of their life,
Or hacking them with a knife
Detaining the innocent
Has become rife.

Yet come what may
Speaking the truth,
Is what I choose!
For journalists round the world languishing behind bars for speaking the truth

The wiry thorns around
Your heart
Keep everyone out.
But I risk the pain
And reach inside
Tearing my flesh,
Because the prize is
Worth far more
Than the suffering
I endure without
Your love.
I'd do
Anything you ask
To hear your heart beating
Once more with affection.
The closed-off
Little girl hiding
Inside
Can be free.
I want to hold her
Until she feels
Whole again,
And softly kiss
The woman that resides,
As her icy blood
Begins to pump again;
To the beat of  TRUE LOVE.

We opted out of our honey moon,
Quit our jobs, donated our car
Gave up everything we had to start fresh and anew
To begin our life as ONE with a brand new adventure
Leaving behind all we knew as familiar, all we knew as home.

Packed our belongings, our pets and our plants.
Moved 500 miles southwest;
From city and sea to vast plains and rolling hills
Learning how to love, how to farm,
And how to simply 'let it be'

A year already, since love letters and vows
So many memories already, especially of cows
To grow and nurture, as nature nurtured us,
Sowing seeds in our garden with
Love, hope and trust
