She Writes Jun 2018
Losing friends is inevitable
I’ve lost many before
Death, distance, and lifestyle
Has already taken its toll

You were the friend
I couldn’t bear to lose
Although you are gone
My hope is not spent

I will keep you in my heart
Holding on to the sentiment
Even the lost can find their way home
If you leave the porch light on
Eleanor Rigby Jun 2018
I removed myself
And walked right through
The gates of hell -
I saw it all - blazing in flames
My sins before me -
Like two wolves on my porch
That came back
To devour me.

Who even cares...

The last rays of light on the brick
Alone
On the porch
Me and the teak wood
Wiping my tears with my sweet beers

The light is no longer on
Your memories are no longer welcomed
The stairs we used to sit and speak about the future
Will stain and rotten as time goes by and it will be a grim reminder of the lies that unfolded
My windchimes will blow gentle cries into the air
A reminder of when you first kissed me in that cold January night
When my heart skipped a beat
Clueless to the pain it would entail
But as the porch rottens so will my memories
Till one day they will cease to exist and like the porch it will crumble.

If the good witch catches you
She might just let you be
But if the bad witch catches you,
She's the last thing you'll ever see
A poem I recited for the neighborhood kids who like to climb all over my porch while I smoke cigarettes.. response was "she's really weird, I'm going home". Mission accomplished :o)

on my porch ...

while no one there ...
only my coffee cup ...
and thoughts ...
about you ...
raining my mind ...
as the tears of sky ...
there while i'm kissing my cup ...
sipping my coffee ...
and think of you ...
waiting for you ...
to come home ...
to my imagination's home ...
to share me the love ...
to give me more ...
more than my thoughts ..
to set all of it ...
as a reality truth ...
as the all dreams ...
that i shared with you ...

there i'm waiting for you ...
sweetheart ...
at my porch ...
alone ...
and waiting you ...
to both alone one to the other ...
and to set up the love ...
by body and soul ...
here i am babe ...
at my porch ...
waiting you ...
waiting for your rain ...
as this sky ...
rains at my porch ...

i waited for you
on the dark side of
the front porch

pinching the filter
of my cigarette
between my teeth

as the smoke
leaked from
beneath my tongue

The mesmerizing sounds of nature
echoed through my ears
It was a blissful morning
we both agreed,
With his cup of coffee in one hand
and cigarette in the other
we talked for over an hour
on that beautiful porch,
breezing through every little topic
These mornings are what I live for
good conversation, coffee, and a pack of cigarettes.

Sitting on this
Porch again
So I don´t face whats
Going on inside

You found my
alcohol and
you seemed mad but
now you want some

You drank
You got drunk
only for the sake of
having an excuse
not to make love to
me

At this point
I dont care
all I want is the rest of that bottle
and it better be waiting for me
tomorrow.
