Consent was trivial to you,
you thought, my flesh was ready for you.
you thought, me being friendly,
an invitation for you to violate me.

I was afraid, of the consequences,
you were groping your next prey.
I was afraid , of myself,
empty void nesting inside me.

I contemplate, did I do something wrong?
or was it you all alone,
the answer is obvious, yet
I scrutinise myself to sleep every night.

The wounds may heal,
but the trust is lost,
the shadows will scare me,
for the rest of my life.

I have decided to,
deem you insignificant,
at long last the woman in me rebelled,
overcoming the fear and shame.

I will speak out,
not in a whisper, but aloud,
vehemently, to end this injustice,
to end this torment within.

Staring into the abyss,
I saw the demon,
that tormented me on many sleepless nights.
Now it's staring right at me,
what it wants? I not know,
the plethora of thoughts,
running down my mind.
For the time has come to,
dive deep into it.
The uncertainty frightens me,
it cripples me.
But, I know,
when, I will emerge at the other end,
I will be a changed man.
For now I have to,
dive deep down into the chasm.
a poem to conquer my demons.
Thank you for reading.
Its hard to let go!
Not right now I wanted us to grow!
But now I feel so slow
Because of your little show!
I thought this was gonna flow
But it’s all a big show

How can I forget the long years spent
You got me ******* bent
I can still smell your scent
Everyday we spend together is like the main event

I love you so much
I love your touch
But you rather flush
For a big time crush
Let me just **** hush

I gotta let go!
I gotta let go!
I anit slow

Yes this is hard
I didn’t think this would happen from the start

I gotta let go!
I gotta let go!
My QUEEN You have to let go!

I'm not okay but
Day by day I keep going
It's getting better
One step at a time. Take it easy, it's okay to be not okay; just don't stop trying to get better.

White, Yellow, and Brown
Different shapes, sizes, and textures
Curly, straight, and wavy
You look at your reflection and do not see it

You're brown
You’re slim, light, and skinny
Your body does not resemble what it means to be a woman in your culture

A Latina woman has curves
A Latina woman's skin glistens underneath the sun
She contains an inner glow that resembles the strength she holds.

A Latina women speaks fluent English and Spanish
The purr that rolls off her tongue when she rolls her “R’s”
Her accent is what blows men away
Her accent is seen as exotic and from another world
But yours is different

You look at your reflection and do not see it
There is no purr because you can't roll the “R’s” off your tongue
Your slight accent is what worries you
Afraid your accent is going to get you a stare instead of a wink.
Afraid to speak you stay quiet and become discrete

You look at your reflection and see
brown sugar that’s sweet and fine
Your skin contains different specks of color which makes you different
The sun captures the qualities that you contain within.

You look at your reflection and see
A woman that speaks the language of romance
The language that distinguishes you from the crowd
The language that brings you strength and courage
The accent you once feared would bring you shame is the same one you have come to love.

You look at your reflection and see
A woman that has grown internally to love herself for the way she is
you contain the inner glow that resembles the strength and knowledge you have attained.

The eclipse has finally passed the sun and your  time to shine has arrived.

Haters going to hate.
Failure might be your fate
But not if you fight
And get it all right.
With the very last ounce of strength
its tiny, broken body brings,
it takes one final shot at life,
and slowly, once more, ***** its wings.
Til your last breath- never stop.

I lived a life throughout this land, and with time, wisdom have I earned
I'll try my best, this is my pledge, to share with you what I have learned
with a growing strength and new found wisdom, surely I've become  brighter
out of somewhere then came this burning desire, to be this new type of fighter

Not with  muscle or aggression, this is not an obsession, I would ever aspire
but with pen and paper and the truth to shape her, to this could I ever admire
discovering this power close at hand, knowing that it would finally afford
an opportunity for me to persist, because the pen is mightier than the sword

You, my adversary, might steal my money or cause me some shame
but know for sure, the words of my heart you would succeed only to inflame
mustering the will with all my strength, to oppose you when you conspire
but in the end the truth will be known, and the truth alone all will acquire

I have nurtured this dream since I was little, to find a way to bind
to make my words and thoughts come alive, and of a singular kind
so just plant this one thought in your mind, and never ever let it go
only with paper, pen and writing again, can you ever expect to grow
A short poem and the power of the pen, you'll be captivated once again
