Does it bring comfort to you

To recognise that midnight birdsong?
Mockingbird taunts
At your struggled slumber
Count those hours ticking by

That familiar insomniac
sweet-talking charade.

It is simply the robin;
Whose rest disturbed by flourescent street-lamp glow
Is not so different from your own

May you find your Polaris
when fickle starfields shift
behind dry eyelids
no constant but movement
too deep for volition
no feeling, only the throb
of an unquiet pendulum heart
marking the numb, blind hours
between midnight and winter dawn
For a New Year.

Quiet. Sickeningly quiet.
Watching silhouettes pass outside
While the salt dries to the floor at my feet.

Why am I here, waiting?

I can never sleep
When midnight thoughts fill my brain
Until the morning.
I can't sleep, so here is this. :)

midnight.
the room is enveloped with darkness
and all i can hear
is the thumping of my heart;
it was quiet yet these eyes won't fall into a deep slumber,
these voices are deafening;
it was silent yet i was not in peace
in a cave where all of my thoughts are kept,
it echoes: why do I have to deal with these feelings?
Releasing.

Not quite black, not quite blue, but more of a hue in between. Sprinkled with glitter, oh how it shimmers at a glance.

It's that time of the year where "a prophet isn't welcome in his own land".
Why do we feel alienated in the midst of known faces yet carve out a niche for ourselves in a stranger's land?
Why do the urge to run away always cross our mind as we tend to grow older, leaving all behind?
Was it the scar that hasn't healed yet or the demon to face as soon as you enter the hell.
It's that time of the year again to wear a mask, to prepare onself; face the wrath with a stoical heart, only to die everyday in a confined ivory tower.
The Mask we wear,
The Pain we bear,
Surviving everyday in a world where no one hardly cares.

That was something strange
what I saw last night,
like the strips imprinted on Zebra
it was all black n white.

I banged my hand all around
just to escape from that scary place,
dreadful darkness surrounded me
as the new moon was on its lunar phase.

Neither I could sense my heartbeat,
nor I could breathe,
that frightening air suffocated me
& my feet were shivering from beneath

I found myself in a cemetery
where about thirty dead bodies surrounded me,
and among those, one I could identify
& that was unfortunately me

I ran from that haunted reality
but got stuck inside a grave
I cried with my choked voice -
"Please save me, please save! "

My dead body was lying near me
& my soul started to disappear
But then I woke up from that spooky dream
& I was sweating with fear.

This poetry is just an imagination of an insomniac. I really enjoyed writing this horror tale... But i really wish someday I'll get dreams too...

Night comes fixing on the day,
And the sun is gone again.
He sit by his phone waiting,
He lays down waiting,
He looks at the ceiling waiting,
A light covers his room and his heart skips a beat,
He rushes to his phone faster than his heart beat,
A word from his loved one wakes up the butterflies inside him.
