Mat
Sitting, thinking. Spun clean.
Used, time and again.
Exploited, yet reliable, your validity, supreme.

Minute hand, who made you travel faster than the ******* called the hourglass.
Telling faster what's feasible than with the abacus, the predecessor to all modern math.
And the shorter hand, whose stealth cannot be seen in person, what remains?
You use gentle remnants, and all that is spent, to strike dread into us creatures that wish to repent our wrongful gains.

But the fabrics of my habit may only see the secondhand and foamy soap, unknowingly handed down through families, cleansed over happenstance tragedies outgrown.

Tumbled dry.
These miserable floors support a newly clean, whirring, lullaby.

Buzzer sounds.
Locked from the inside, the doors are now closed.
My time is up.
Head home, and fold.

The dream of countless quarters flickers with florescent lights, all I need is myself in a quiet place, to finally take flight.

Fall into the void until comfortably null, softened to a point in which I am flawless, yet dull.

I have one brain
one heart
two eyes
to see my path
and once again
I am,
falling apart.

counting my tears
until I'm free
abiding by my years
as the clock strikes three
bringing the hammer down
on my time
if I make it till four
I would live more than
I ever intended to be
I cannot see
if I'm still alive
been like this
since i was five
maybe i have died
I do not know anymore,
and it's all just a dream, a lie,
I cannot do the maths anymore.

I am afraid of
the man in the mirror
there's a strange
silence to it
this place is different
there's no sun rise at six
no tomorrow that exists
and by seven
it will be night once again.

if I'm not awake
by eight
don't bother ever again
I won't be running late
cats have nine lives
so cruel for them

ten.

don't add me into your life,
just to subtract me out, alright?
please don't divide my heart in half,
just to walk away and laugh,
don't try to solve me like an algebraic equation,
unless you're patient,
if not,
you might as well give up and go on vacation,
i'm too complicated,
you can go and ask all the past guys i've dated,
you may be smart math boy,
but trust me,
i'm smarter than all of your other toys.
this was fun to write, i was supposed to be studying for math but came up with this instead.

The tragedy's over, it's finite.
But it's still tragedy, it's infinite.
A single action multiplied through all of reality.
Two lives subtracted from this universe indefinitely.
One, deemed slightly odd, just wanted to get even
Emotions compounded, suspending all reason.
The other in a more integral union
Now leaving a remainder with no solution.
But regardless of identities, what's the difference
when actions like these have a sequence?
A series of lives lost;
Lost to the shell method
With empty shells bouncing on the floor
The death toll adding up more and more.
As a country, what is our limit?
what constitutes a significant digit?
We hear about tragedies with such frequency
we think "it won't happen to me".
And that might be the root of these events,
A mindset of disconnect.
That our lives all run parallel...but only until they intersect.
But the hole in that theory is that we're already in a universal set.
If we integrated that thought into the way we live
We  might have less families asking "iff"
Because that might be a tragedy on par:
Living as if our neighbors are imaginary parts.
So, let's shift our prime focus from our own simple interest
Before its outcome produces absolute divergence.

ME?
I am like a riddle
WRITTEN
but
UNREADABLE.
unless
you
know
that
ENDINGS
are
BEGINNINGS.
then
you
know me
as
{INFINITY}
Flying Away Apr 2016
She differentiated herself from society, thinking that her life would never intersect with another's.
Her irrational thinking was harmful, she called herself odd.
"Think positively" they said, "the outcomes are countless.
Life is nonlinear, it's not as simple as x=y.
It may not always make sense but you will make it add up."
She had no proof.
She hated the sine wave of life, her countable infinity that she wanted to stop.
The probability of her meeting her congruent mate was 7,000,000,000:1
Until the day her life was bisected by a girl.
The girl was her complimentary angle, her stationery point, her happy infinity.
She was integrated.
∅,
shoving ∅self rudely
over ∅s conspiring back,
was abased, and gave birth
to the cosmos.

Every star,
freshly born, at once
saw the joke and laughed
until they all winked out,
spent.

Yet Laughter
lurks in wait --

to shove the dead
into Life.
∅ is the mathematical symbol for an empty set.

love... is a mystery
one day you're basking in the joys of a carefree life
then suddenly you cant move or think or breathe
because a single person takes over your entire being

how can one have that much power over something?
what happened to the power of freedom and will?

it feels like a war with yourself
except you don't know if you want to win or lose
you won't know whether you win or lose
because what is the definition of "winning"?
forcing your way into someone's heart and "gaining" their affection?
changing yourself to exceed someone's expectations of a "perfect person"?
but may i ask, is letting go really losing?

all logic aside, sometimes equations just can't be solved,
no matter how much proof there is
i + i = 2i, but you're still stuck with that,
an imaginary number

and no matter how hard you work to solve the mystery of i,
all your hopes and dreams will be crushed in the end anyway
because some things are just not meant to be
some things are just meant to remain undiscovered
and perhaps if we're lucky,
someone who's destined for it will unravel its mystery, your mystery

just not me

I'm itching your name off like sun burnt skin, these days without you... are something I cannot explain in words, these days without you feel as hollow as the ones with you. See, I know you aren't a substantial lover or the kind of lover I need. You are able to subtract your feelings from the equation whereas mine stays forever constant. I never did well in math, I never thought I would gaze upon us with the same eyes I look upon an equation, one I cannot solve. You, now a resented chapter I pass in the pages of my textbook, I watch as the pages fall effortlessly onto one another, collapsing within itself. With pain I pass your pages, to start a new.
Our chapter is done, but I wish it wasn't. You were my favorite unit to learn.
