i'm in love with sea creatures
even the mystical ones
imagine they have their own world
their own rules
..
there are something mystical about them.. i guess..
Vachaspathi Dec 2017
It sees into the depths where the vision loses its reason.

It listens to the voices when the normal sounds are voided.

It smells the thoughts even when their reach is abated.

It tastes the feelings when the words can't express the emotions.

It feels the touch even when the physical manifestations are separated by countless miles.

What a magical thing our heart is!
I found Aladdin’s lamp on the floor
I picked it up and some smoke came out
A genie started to appear between the smoke
And said:

‘I grant you three wishes, use them wisely;
Where do you start, with this powerful gift?
I grant you three wishes, choose carefully.
What can you fix, what can you change?’

I still couldn’t believe what I saw
I was creeped out and surprised,
Excited and satisfied
Everything seems to be so magical

I wish,
I wish

Can world peace be achieved simply?
A single thought fixing that’s all
Changing hearts, minds and history.
All in a single wish?

End hunger
Share wealth and resources;
Make crops grow, control nature, end greed?
All in a single wish?

Can we cure all ills?
End sickness and pain
Change lives; give hope?
All in a single wish?

Because without hope,
Without an urge for change,
A drive to better,
How can we make our wishes come true?

Your heart has turned dark
Your eyes blinks a spark
Your breath almost stinks
The awful smell of your skin
Makes my head spin
This momentary night
As the sky is beamed alight
The moon shining over you
Sprinkling the magical dew
You climb on the peak
To embrace what you seek
I've grown too weak
With no energy to speak
My powers, I've lost
This kind of death is the worst
But you, trying to revive me
To how I was, I again can be
The approach of midnight
I'm holding on tight
My breathe fading slowly
Around none, I'm lonely
A vigorous howling cry
My throat has gone dry
I felt dragged under the moon
The magical dew showered soon
On my body which was torn
And a new me, was born...

"I was the same, but I was waiting for myself on the shore to return."  -   Murakami

IIt is a difficult time. You wait
for the return of yourself.
You sit on the pier, watching
pelicans pirouette in the air,
weightless for a moment

before diving into the water.
The sound of their splash
reminds you of something
you just can’t quite remember.
You sit there, eating fish after fish,

washing them down with beer.
You have started counting seagulls
and giving them long Spanish names.
You choreograph ballets, create architectural
drawings of dreams, and have begun to build

a home out of seashells. On weekends,
people come just to see you waiting
for your own return. “Where did you go?”
they ask, and you simply shrug.
You make new friends and take up painting,

creating self-portraits,  your image is repeated
like the latitude and longitude lines on a map.
Each morning, you lean against the railing,
and the seagulls join you. You’ve made them
tiny red scarves that they all wear. All of you

stare, still as glass, as if any movement might
blur your vision. Together, you watch the sea,
straining to see yourself coming back, straining
to catch a glimpse of the prow of a boat

cutting through the silver morning water.
A poem about finding oneself.  Previously published  2  Rivers Review 2015

That morning, it’s like she woke up from the wrong side of her bed

Hidden and yet revealed, s m a r t  questions to me she poured
She did her part so wisely only for me to become so lured

She said open your romantic heart and let's together pen
Let us make the world hear these rhymes and tales
Becoming the new ten out of ten

Star light
Star bright
Sky full of stars I see tonight

I wish I may
I wish I might
Keep this feeling I feel tonight

Moon light
Moon bright
Silent silver moon I see tonight

I wish I may
I wish I might
Lock this sight inside tonight

Years of wait
Melted my hate
He came to meet
As my blind date
Surprised was I
To see this guy
A crush of mine
Turned me down
I recovered fine
Till that day in town
I saw, I ignored
I walked away
He saw, he came
But he couldn't say
How it happened
He explained that day
A date or a fate
I am over my hate
He's fallen for me
O' love it is, I see
In his eyes for me
My life, my love to be
Opened my locked heart
With his magical key
Love flowed within
Caressing my soul
A new life to begin
Was now, our goal...

My breath was fading
As I lay on the ground
There came no aiding
No one was around

I've been running the entire night
Fighting the darknesses chase
Stumbling to get to the light
Insanity pondering my brains to craze

Low tone of church bells
Ring from afar east
Dragging myself to the near well
But down I saw the same beast

Hovering and groaning
Clashing its humongous teeth
Roaring and frowning
Hunger thrusting for meat

It has found me but it's weird
Crouching from behind
As I have felt and feared
Yet, it's blinded by its mind

And so as I gained my conscious
I realised it was already light
Still a bit scared and anxious
Coz there were little grinches in bright

Tho known as to be the meanest of a kind
I was in the grinchland seeking their advice
The creatures of darkness cannot find
Coz this place is magical, and
they'll just see multiple of themselves in surprise...
