Life's a Beach Jul 2014
and I'm out in the rain
in the eye of a cloud
I'm afloat and
refreshed and
real

Once again.
It's a storm, and in the
untouchable notes of
power and brightness,
the sky lights
up reality.
Storm down in my area, hot all day then it suddenly turned torrential. Made me appreciate the rain.

your eyes are as blue as the ocean
and my hair is as blonde as the sun

together we both make the perfect beach day

but sometimes
you become dark

and that's when it storms

you become the dull grey sky

I try to light you up but it only makes things worse
and I guess that makes me the lightening

It may be dark and stormy

but what's a storm without lightening?

and what would the ocean be like if there was no sun?

what would I be like if i didn't have you?

I have a strong feeling I'm about to find out soon

maybe they were right
and maybe sometimes there's no calm before the storm

sometimes the storm just randomly hits,
hard

and maybe one day,
It won't clear up

The lightening shoots and I feel it in my feet.

My life on the high wire,

the fire in my soul.

I am....alive.

I'm laying here
Watching the lightening
and hearing the thunder
And I believe
the sky is my heart tonight.
For  I thought of you
and set my insides ablaze.

If lightening strikes metal
then surely my heart is titanium,
cracked and bruised.
And you are Zeus,
god of the skies,
sending a downpour
making my knees weak
in the storm.
Please don't send your rolling thunder elsewhere.
Linda Pahl May 2014
fiery cumulonimbus of emotion
gather ominously on your horizon
fierce silence of a righteous rage
electrifies the very air you breathe
bursts of lightening pierce the darkness
chased by thunder that shocks the heart
shattering the silence with a deafening fury

When we meet,
Please be extra cautious

She was destructively beautiful,
Aimlessly honest,
Wistfully vacant, with purpose.
She held such maddening sadness in her eyes.
And I knew, in the mist of the most dangerous of moments.
For when her blue dress flirted with my fingertips,
I knew that she would destroy me,
And I would spend the rest of my days trying to forget her.
Yet how perplexingly remarkable it is indeed,
To feel anything at all.

When the rain comes I can't help but smile

Because its mending my cracks all the while.

When the sky rumbles I may wrap a blanket close

But the lightening is the best dose

The clouds are gray and the winds are a band of terror

I just have one wish, that this bad weather will break the mirror

You can't save me
With you smoke veiled eyes
Filled with honesty and deceit
Your words
Falling like the ocean
Deafens me
With their beauty
In silence
And it's not enough
Those lines
About me
In the tattered notebook
My initials
On your skin
Tattooed
And scarred
Like the rain in the sky
With echoes
Like thunder
Following the sobs
You hide behind your calloused hands
Can't you ever
Show me the lightening
Because that's the only thing
I need to see

And the thunder
From me
Is all you need to hear
But my lightening
Is what you get to see
And you think it's everything
But how can everything
Last only a second?
