We were but strikes of lightening sealed in a glass jar
Flumbling about
Nowhere to go
Exhaushed, we conducted ourselves
With a slight curb of enthusiam
Sprung to life with the slightest touch
Electric current twirling forward, then back
Sparks igniting beneath our toes
Traces of where we've been crackled
Sizzled in a flash by the dark spot of glass
We were irresponsible in the abduance of each other
The glass soon stained by soot
Purified by the euphria of what came to be known as climatic
Every taste
Every passion
Soon expoliting what soon came to be known as each other
We polluted ourselves with each other
Becoming the overcast beneath the top of the sealed jar
Surrounded by absolute dark;
The way I saw the universe in her eyes
Laying beneath the night sky surrounded by acres of  thought
Vast in length
Breathless in thought
A jolt of vibration quivered in heart

We are at the mercy of the city, they said.
Trapped and bound, it wasn’t pretty.
We are the kids who have accomplished nothing.
The kids who lived too fast.
The kids who didn’t live at all.
Wanting to be something, facing the fall.

Laughing in the face of darkness.
Pretending to do our jobs while they drop pennies.
Here and there, bounding everywhere.
Facing the end of the map,
Opportunities landing everywhere but our laps.

Then the lights come on, at the game’s end.
The charade is over, no time left to pretend.
Pretend to be grown, happy, and alone.
Together in this land of the infinite unknown.
Cliche’d and replayed and lost in the many quotas.
Not enough going on anymore to really take note of.

Your skin smells like summer camp,
it lingers on me like chlorine from a pool in July.
Your laughter radiates through your bones like electricity.
I used to tell them all about you-- the boy with the bright eyes that seem to smile before a smile can form on his lips.
I am crazy, all in the best ways and all for you.
I identify as what you call me when I am between the sheets with you.
Your little girl, your little ****, your *****.
All for you.
Lightening, lightening, you are bolts of lightening.
And I'm afraid you've struck something in me because I am on fire for you, darling.

She is the calm before the storm
one deep breath of her cool scent
and her foreshadow
will send chills over your skin

She is the rain
her cold drop on your lashes
will remind you
of the things you did to her

She is the thunder
her voice filled with pain
seeps inside you
like the time she tried to die

She is the lightening
her brightness so quick
it is gone
before you can see her shine

She is the storm
that dances
never complete

When I'm with you
Time ticks so fast
Like a lightening bolt

When I'm not with you
Time slows down
Like a small snail
It mocks me by playing these games with me

I would  kiss you
under cherry blossoms,
pink petals drifting down
like parachutes of desire
covering us with beauty.

I would kiss you
in the rain, drenched to
the bones not noticing
the fat raindrops
kissing us both back.

I would kiss you
in the wildest woods
surrounded by rustling leaves
beneath the jealous eyes
of voyeuristic birds.

But I have no idea
when I will kiss you
or where or even what
will happen when I do.

Still, in my imagination
it will be the right time,
the right place and
the right circumstance.

And it will be exactly
like kissing lightening.

A shocker of a poem...
The Terry Tree May 2015
The stars surround the pools of lightening in your eyes
Like the willow hangs its leaves in quiet wise disguise
The moment that we met my heart soon realized
That you were something more than ever to behold
Something reminiscent of a blanket in the cold
A beautiful illusion to unfold
Like the greatest bedtime
Story ever told

We walked onto the water with such grace
The sun was shining down so brightly on your face
The memories of everything I love began to race
And the beating in my heart became replaced
By the the rhythm of your pulse upon my chest
Your warm arms melted all around me
And every care had found a place
To be remembered in
The space that we
Embraced

We stood for hours holding hands beneath the showers
Of mirror blue dreams that all became the both of ours
We were relentlessly engaged in one another
Appreciating every blessing of such power
Given by our Mother's Nature
Spirit found us to be grateful
There was no stopping
What imagination blazed
Out of this beautiful
Umbrella of
Light rays

I'll sing to you the songs of water lullabies
Effortlessly I'll carry you sweet love of mine
Each step we take we'll leave behind
Another tear, you are divine

Please rest your head
Upon my shoulder
Anytime

She doesn't know if anyone notices
That it shows in her face.
It was different then as it is now;
The damage tucked in the angles of her face-
In the shadows, in the light, beneath her eyes...

She could feel it changing
The way her laugh has suddenly become
A mechanism to not make her happy,
But others happy.
To push away the questions that would
Come crawling from concered hearts
From the thunder storm hanging
Above her head.

They aren't concerned for her being,
They're concerned for their curiosity.

Her smile used to reach her eyes,
Now it doesn't even reach her heart.
The path that connected emotions
To features was destroyed in the storm.
Like nature, it's going to take a while to recover.
And even when it does,
It will never be the same.

Just like her.
She won't ever be the same with every passing storm.
Every smile will be struck with lightening at night.
Every laugh will be drowned with the pouring rain

Just like her,
The storm has become her.

The clouds, lightening, thunder and rain inside me,
is a sign the sun is about to appear.

Bckkkkkk

Lightening splits the sky
Cracking the horizon like
Shards of shattering glass
Inverting and reflecting
The alternate dimensions
Severing the ties of reality

Bckkkk

White strings of energy
Sparkling and crackling
Time no longer shackling
Space no longer tethering
Nothing belonging to me

Bckkkk

I can almost feel the thundering
As the vibrating sensations
Touches my inner ear canal
It is frightening how easily
The lightening could consume me

Bckkkk

But the wonder of its thunder
The blunder of its destruction
Cutting sound and ground spitting dirt
Causing the earth to hurt
As it explodes one way or the other
And all I can really say is

Bckkk Bckkk Bckkk wooooshhhhhh

This would be cooler if it was really raining
