here i am
attempting to love dead;
mourning past life
life before your words lacerated
my throat like a sharp knife
before you claimed
to love the girl behind
these crazy eyes
before i was confined
to a bed of nails and broken lies

i have no choice anymore
your love is but a show and
i beg for the encore
there was so much left
for our brains to explore
but trust has been shattered
and our hearts are at war
**** that

Clinging to an old idea
of a red lip
a torn pair of black jeans
a swing set at a memorial
Where were you in September?

your wide eyed child misses his daddy
and we all miss our friend

I sit here
jealous
of your endless sleep
I am tired too, Adam.

Supposedly you are selfish
That's what is said in a low whisper,
but they don't know
the tearing pain.

Old man Death had already taken you before you tied the noose.

Sleep well.

You are not in pain
and you are not what hung you.

I grieve you
the way I grieve my last cigarette
knowing I'll have another
and another
and another
but I grieve him
the way I grieve the very last
knowing I'll spend eternity
searching for
just
one
drag

In the fields of fragrant flowers,
I see Mother’s supple silhouette
shimmering with the soft sunlight.
Her hair tied with peony barrette;
Sweet smiles radiate at sight.
The sentimental scents of myrrh
Wafts from her body; my eyes gleam;
I run towards and embrace her.
Is this a dream? Is this a dream?

In the fields of fragrant flowers,
This time and space is of great blest-
I wish there was no tomorrow.
For months I have been left bereft.
I tell mother of my sorrow;
I wish to be with her and roam
Away from life’s chaos and gloom.
Return to the land of our home,
And see orchid blossoms bloom.
I ask mother if I could stay;
Thousand tears cloud her gentle eyes;
She kisses me like rainy day;
It is time to awake and part!

My heart weeps with the wintry wind.
Her spirit; many miles apart.
I am alone and left behind
To face this world’s reality.
Must this be my sad destiny?

All that is left
Is scents of fragrant flowers.

You get the shovel
I’ll dig the hole
we’ll bury her together
off to heaven I suppose
or wherever dogs go
you go and grieve
I’ll let the little one know
in a little bit
just expect company

I was your dream,
But you shouldn’t have fallen asleep.
Missing my late father

It’s 12 a.m. and here we are again.
Tears on your sleeve,
How hard you grieve.
Oh I know all about who you were
And who you are now,
But what really changed?
Fairy tales you were told
Seem different as you get old.
And it’s left you with a longing for
Something more.

It’s 2 a.m and here you are again.
Tears on my sleeve.
How hard you grieve.
But what made you believe
That he was the man of your dreams?

Oh, tell me how you feel.
Lend me your voice tonight.
Whisper it in my ears.
Slow down, slow down.
Just tell me how you deal
With fire all around you.
Paper hearts disappear.
Breathe in, breathe out.

it has been
a long day.
and i am ready
to grieve.

it will rain in toronto
it will rain in new york.
we can feel it
in our hearts
we can
drown together,

i am drunk and clumsy
but full of
hope for the future
and disdain for the present.

it is no gift
if its gone
by the time i
soak it in.
