I’m lost in the Frost
Tossing and turning in time
Burning in the words
RJW Sep 2017
light
in places of shadowed hearth
arms of candle fire reach through the window panes
into the breath of frozen lips, the ballerinas of frost who dance into sleep
on all the leaves  in swathes of amber flood, the sun sinks down his head to rest
in beds of fire-colored moths,  clumps of dew and bracken hedge
Just a short piece. Thinking about the warm and cold months of our year :) It's actually spring in New Zealand but autumn has been on my mind x

The stone around your heart has been chiseled at
You warm the frost when you're ready
When you realize the small thinking, anger, fear, and drawing into yourself
Have shrunk you small
The wall starts to crumble
You start to free your mind, your heart
From the prison you kept for safety
A poem I wrote years ago

Pale flakes float to charcoal slate,
Tumble onto hard packed ice
that has already engulfed  the garden path.
Scratched frost, crystals with silent stinging bite.
They line the garden fence and cap the swingset.
November nights are drawing in,
it's nov. third, and the kettle sings next to a calendar of red crosses, marking the days that have passed me by and the "sleeps until" for the twins. A quiet kitchen, womb to the outside world until the door opens - a shocking birth into a white winter. November has always been a rushed month, a countdown, a month for planning, details
and not quiet stopping.
For now, I enjoy the quiet before the storm, or has the blizzard  already been and gone?
The snow will thaw, and where will we be
When all the nights of November are over.
Rough so please excuse any structural flaws!

And here I am just chillin alone, so cold to the bone more frozen than Frozone
Hypothermia, doctor doctor
Got places to be can't you fix me up faster

This avalanche is ever-lasting
Pass the parcel the pain aint past it
Waiting on a whim is it really worth it
Honour and duty but so close to deserting

Flee and be free of fear containment
Constricted and closed off, self-enslavement
Harden up and be tough, roadworks and pavement
Detour and derail to prevent persuasion

Tactical retreat the feet beats down
Live to fight another day or be six feet under ground
The silent treatment is a healing sound
But the heart beats cleanly too lost to be found

No map could make or break this problem
I got a little lost now I'm tryna solve it
Never used the stars to guide my path
But if i have no faith I'm ****** to die fast
:^)
please excuse the gross lingo in this write
but using it will add some genuine bite
last night Jack's freezer called on our town
leaving a big frost blanket well behind
its chilliness stayed fixed to my rind
the temperature was minus of degrees
there came a feeling cold in toes and knees
everything most certainly zeroed down
holy crap them winter ides aren't too good
they shivered through my old frames wood
three more months of a bitter frigid brace
summer's warmth has departed these parts
which means I'll be up for Jacko's white starts
climes such as his are so hard to face

You disappeared like the last winter frost,
  and I despaired like Spring.
little thoughts.
An Armada to hasty waters in Korea
now exactly a parallel in fact
and his force there scurry remnant
upon a Vinson cry in Japanese
when stalemate solution unheeded
and his excellency in vapor again
only plea such his correction
when Xi in China lifts hIs new beginning.

Loud and arrogant,
a visceral voice
takes control,

green and purple
red and angry
fierce and ugly

cold like holy water,
but not holy
cold and white like frost
on the windows.

So cold - too cold to sleep.
Breathe under your blanket
curl up
hold your feet to your stomach
your hands inside your head.

The glow from the oil stove flickers
but
the heat from its distant flame
does not reach.
Its light only taunts,
reflects,
makes the frost appear warm.

Frost inside the window

I scrape the crystal etching
with ***** broken nails,

Soon morning will break
and melt the frost,
moving it along the frozen pane,

along my frozen pain.

Wherever you look she is there, waiting;
beautiful and cold as she is,
for someone to entertain her.

When the sleepy skies yawn away and
his golden locks take the podium,
he can’t help but notice only her.

He invites to dance, so she lifts her skirts high
and puts her transparent hand in his and
together they dance their crystal waltz.

He might entertain her only for a while,
because she will soon perish from something
magically beautiful to just another puddle.*

But despite knowing this, she does not mind at all.
