She had such a pretty smile.
Her lips kept feeding my curiosity.
Left me lost in a different reality.
Loved watching her walk over to me,
Watching her leave, such a tragedy.

If you ask my friends what I've become
They'll start singing song lyrics
"Tried to find you t the bottom of a bottle, laying down on the bathroom floor"
"You're gone and she's gotta stay high, all the time, to keep you off her mind"
And by God they wouldn't be wrong.
I've taken up these habits and made them my own
Creating my own personal bubble that's headed straight for hell
I'm not saying what I've become is all your fault
But you certainly contributed to my status.
My chain smoking, my drug use, my increased alcohol consumption
My need to drive dangerously fast, stepping into traffic, my laying on blacktops
To everyone I know, it's as if I'm certainly flirting with Death
And I guess its true
And I'm not taking 100% of the blame
Some of it is on you.

The loud ring of the phone
brings him back to the
most important
day of his life;
his marriage

He doesn't know why
that memory was
triggered, but it's
all he can see

He longs to be back at that time
Falling, falling
The sweet tune of
"Here Comes the Bride"
plays in the back
of his mind

He sees the ground below him now
as he sees his wife walking
down the aisle
Closer & closer
Flirting with death

Near to the ground now
She's at the foot of the altar
She made it
So did he
"Till death do us part"
At first, this poem may be difficult to understand. The prompt for it was not from my own mind, but a fantastic book I have, "642 Things to Write About", which continues to inspire me. This is about a man who jumps from the 40th floor of a building, hears a phone ring while passing the 28th, and regrets his to decision to jump. It's my interpretation of what was going on in his head. I'll let you figure out the rest on your own.

Be bold, be blunt, be all that he is not.
Be daring, be heartless, be the truth he can't.
Be fearless, be sharp, be all the predator he won't.
Be ****, be sensual, be all that he shan't.
Be you, be new, be all that you have not.
Motivation for married women attracted to other men
I was young
and you were old
you were shy
And I was bold

I stared at you
you smiled twice
I made my bet
you rolled the dice

I came to you
you felt my smell
I stole a kiss
You fell under my spell

I was a brat
You had no aim
I was an ace
You had no game

I had fun
You had too
I'm leaving soon
You're feeling blue

And so it ends
what never started
in the game of love
you've been out smarted

I laugh at girls who flirt with men as a sport,
Men who use girls for their bodies,
And immigrants who marry for green cards
But in my story,
I am the fool.
I used you to feel better about myself
And you did just that
I snuck around with you behind my parents back
I was leading a double life and I felt great because I was breaking good
You made me feel free
The only expectation you held me to was to not break your heart
But I broke it anyway
Now I find myself missing you more than ever
I was the fool
And you were my gold
I'm a horrible person and I want him back

I think it's funny
that you think no one notices you.

I Bet it would make you smile,
to know that I do.

Every morning, day, and afternoon
and that's not it....

I hope to introduce myself to you very soon.
