Let's let the world flow away
in the breeze of evening day
Singing at the top of our lungs
Shuffling through fields and crumbling stones

This love
A touch in the bittersweet air
Forever remembering
the feel of your lips on mine
No matter the time

i saw a pale horse
grazing on the grass
in a field   peacefully

An arid, cold fog sets in
On the once emanating morning,
And dampens our planet once more.

A wet, ebon oaken wood bench lies
In the place where the usual bench rests.
And the grass glows an affluently ardent amber,
Drowning out the sulfuric gray clouds.

On this day I look and wish
That someone was by my side,
And we could share
This gloomily wet,
Yet so intensely vibrant
Visage of life.
This sight was witnessed last week, but the poem was written Feb.10.2020 (that’s today).

I found myself in a field
The grass was spun from silk
Bowing beneath my every step
Kissing my ankles as I went by

I found myself in a field
Over looking the beautiful blue sea
Now painted with the colors of gold and pink
As the sun shined over me

I found myself in a golden light
The fading hour of the sun
Everything it touched was given the gift of beauty
Filled with its fading warmth that clung to me
As the sun slowly sunk into the night

I found myself in a grove
The trees of a forest surrounding me
I looked up at the sky to see the infinite stars
And heard someone asking me
"How can you make constellations in this mess?"

"It's connecting the dots you see."
My finger raised to the sky
Each star that graced my finger tips trailed with me
Painting the many pictures I saw up above

I fell asleep in a forest grove
Awoken by the soft golden sun
"I don't want to have to go."
From the fields and forests

My soul is rested
Here in the fields and forest
But rest is temporary
As are these dreams.
Just a dream I had

Behold the ponies in the field
who neither sow, nor do they reap:
they run with unabated zeal
from dawn until they pause to sleep.
They do not worry, fuss, nor fret
that with a hand or two they'd yet
become a horse, majestic steed,
a noble beast of strength and speed
that all admire. A pony's satisfied
with sun for warmth and grass to eat,
a stable's shelter when the sleet
of winter falls, and one to ride
them round the ring, through woods,
to dappled meadows, fine and good.

For tomorrow is barren of promises
Like the darkness that slowly creeps at us
Only in the light at the flower field
Will I know that I have won against the odds
Everytime I remember you, I feel warm hope
Reminding me to go on, to exist, to live
Suddenly, we were drowning, but you saved me
Of all things, why should you leave?
For good things come to an end
To fulfill the promise, we traveled so far
Even in the face of the unimaginable
Now that we're together and alone
Even I know that you are now gone
But will you be there? Will you be there?
Remind and assure me that you will be there
All I wanted was to save you
Even if it cost me the world, Luna

Once upon a time, there was a field,
Filled with grasses so green and clean,
Air so light and wind so breeze,
All of them were in celestial light.

By all means, it was too good to be true,
But once upon a time, they were true,
Fate and fear may mold the scene,
But all the glory has gone by the screen.

I wish the day shall pass by again,
For then I could feel the light rain,
Washing off those pale green field,
Doves could sing the song for thee.

This all happened as I closed my eyes,
Where is the field that I wanted to see,
All those silvers were once been green,
Gone are the days, never to be seen.

little brown rabbit
in a field of coyotes-
hoppy survivor
5/22/2018 - Poetry form:  Haiku - For many months my wife and I have seen a little brown bunny frequent our back yard from a field in the back that has coyotes, foxes, deer, opossum and raccoons. It returns to the field each day and we always think it will be its last day.  But a few days later there it is again   A hoppy survivor for sure! - Copyright © Mark Toney | Year Posted 2018
