Moonlight Oct 2020
One morning, I sat at the window
And observed the clouds floating in a row
As I sipped my coffee, watched the show
Wondering if they were clouds or giant ***** of snow

Got lost in the moment, I didn’t know
Time flew by and I couldn’t follow
I still kept gazing at the sky though
Until I got distracted by a cawing crow
For the love of words that rhyme :)

A cloud rests on the surface of the earth
and my heart, like a paperweight,
tethers me to the stormy waters.
I can’t foresee where I’m heading.
But there’s something in the heavy air
compelling my lungs conform to the feeling
of letting go

i am Orpheus in the clouds
playing clown for the masses.

i'm half of the shaft of light
breaking mosaically into
millions of pieces across the kitchen floor.

i'm a smoky chandelier swaying with
the bravado of a censure on high-holy-day.

i'm the royal velvet lining your blood.

i am a poem, without reason, read to you
by a stranger.

i am 200 tons of cracked granite one thousand
feet above you splitting off from the face of
the mountain.

but more so than any of that,

i'm a peculiar kind
of nothing

typing words onto
screens before
i die.

the mystery of you and I

haunts me,

on city nights

when the mist shrouds

the towers
do you ever get that sinister wondering when the clouds are eerie?

The clouds came in to hide the sun
And they started to cry
Because they had no fun

The clouds stomped their mighty feet
Boom, boom
But I thought the day was going to be sweet

Then the sun pushed them out of the way
And gave the clouds a warning
“Okay,” they’d say
And they went on their way

I lay here searching for wakefulness
hours after sunrise.
Outside, remnants of a soft pink rest
among new-born grey clouds,
And embers of a morning sun fade away.

I admire the transitioning sky, remembering how this life is a mystifying blur made of hellos and goodbyes.

Water reflects the image of its surrounding,
Sky reflects the color of a blue ocean,
Clouds illuminate rays from the sun,
Mirrors reflect the beauty of the face!

Your words convey your thoughts,
Your kindness mirrors your heart,
Your actions display your character,
Your eyes reveal your inner soul!

Make every fiber of your being
Parallel the depth of the ocean,
The scent of flowers, the taste of spring,
Touch of the breeze, and the welcoming of a new dawn!
