So I'll light this candle
and I'll remember you

I'll open up my window
and see you in the moon

I would ask you to come back here
and iluminate my room
but I know you're somewhere out there
with much better things to do

So I'll light this candle
and I'll remember you.

A new Prometheus breaks through
with the light not taken from the sun
but from an unknown forgotten one.
Not up from the sky nor from down
the bottom of the ocean, rose from the null!

The witty one then shows up
like a candle, flame on the mirror!
Everything around it starts fading
except the flame in front of the mirror.
More and more eyeballs look
on it only to be sure
anything like it was never seen before!

By now the world woken up at the first light
perhaps except the one who could tell the truth
what was that looking in the mirror?
Everyone's guess was as good as other's

Your are my candle
Your warm glow casts my shadow
And beckons my soul
Late night writing. There's certainly something intoxicating about the glow of a candle.

I was a candle, and you were the flame

Without you my light fades away.

I was a candle, and you were the flame

With you, I fade away.

Even candles burn out eventually.
And when the flame dies,
you're left with the scent of
what made it shine so bright.

Each flicker of the heart
        Is one less before death
Each time you exhale--
        One less living breath
Potential becomes reality
        The candle drips in flame
And though it burns the bloodshot eyes
        They are both the same

Each flicker

    Each breath

Running wax the candlestick
Feet flailing forward, fleeing fast
Flickers bicker tock and tick
Drip drip down the candlestick,
Running down the sheer sides, slick
With the immolating wick
to fire

Running from the past
So sprinting towards the future
Running through the blur of now
Running out of time

Out of breath
Out of flickers
Hear is

Lying in thick dark
the candle we made glows warm,
burns away my time.

Penthesilea Mar 2017
There's this spark, a gentle flame,
a candle of hope warming my inside
with the thought of you returning home.
Presumptuous I am indeed, to consider myself a home for him.

Like a candle in a hurricane
We flickered out in the wind
And anyone who saw us burning
Thought it must have just been
A little trick of the light.
