Whole world is bubble
Glass window separating
Bumblebee wants in
the blonde poet Jun 2015
How much do I love you?

Hold your breathe until you can't hold it any longer.
That feeling of wanting to breath... that's how much I love you.

Look at the ocean, and its wide expanses that you can only see a small fraction of.
The size of that ocean is as much as I love you.

Look up at the stars. There are trillions of them. There are far more than we will ever know about.
The expanse of those stars doesn't equal how much I love you.

Now look me in the eye. My eyes have seen the beauty of the world. But nothing as beautiful as you.
That is how much I love you.

I love you more than I love being able to breath, My love for you is larger than the water I need to survive. My love for you is so much more than anyone could ever understand. My love of your beauty is more than my love of any other thing to ever exist.
And that,
Is how much I love you.

I remain lost as
a bird circling the horizons
nowhere to land on
not knowing where to next
I am the one who has
strayed too far
confounded as a bad rhetoric
like any fool I was misguided
by questions with answers
I refused to believe
fancy struck
by bright city lights
false hopes
the blindness of ambition.

Packed bags, long, lonely halls
at fifth street
new faces, new foot fall traces
I am among those
who scatter everywhere
as wildly as fallen
leaves in autumn
only to die in one place
unheeded in the earth
as a burned picture.

The word home
has eluded my lips
I do not know
what it is anymore.

It had been everywhere
in damp, double bunk beds,
in summer evenings,
greasy diner food,
communal bathrooms,
loud rooftop parties—
that end not how they started
the recklessness of youth
to the slow waste of age.

Home is everywhere,
I am everywhere.

It had been nowhere
crowded streets
with rushed faces,
nights of killing
spades and aces,
solitary reveries of
drunken strangers,
and in the streets,
the starved, ****** painters.

Home is nowhere,
I am nowhere.

I thought to myself
how home felt like many places
within all sorts of different faces
but it was never with me.

From a world of dreams; fantasies, distant galaxies, false happiness...
Through the storms that have wiped out even a grain of sand, after all the damages that have been made, the losses, the pain, the lies..
Birds are flying sky high, friends have reunited, and frowns have turned into smiles, no more cries, no more lies...
Justice has been served, plates are full of nutrition, the show is over, curtains have closed, everyone has turned to the next page, the new chapter has begun.
The sky is blue, the night is still, stars are shining, heavens are rejoicing.
The wicked have been sentenced, jubilant is a heart at peace.
Everything is right in its place.

Destiny will not be found
in the realm of time
Limited to our own imaginations

We are all but strangers in this land
It is those who find a belonging to this world
 who are truly lost

Echoes we chase of discontentment
Searching for pieces we think we lost
or never had

Hearing the voices inside and out
Declaring "You Don't Belong"

Wanderers, explorers, seekers at best
Life is a Sojourn
    not a place to nest

I found a caterpillar in the road when I took a walk today.
I picked it up, took a picture of it on my finger,
and sent it to a friend.
They responded
Aw, it's so small!
I told him I put it on a leaf and walked away.
But won't you miss it?
He joked, to which I replied,
He has a home.
Everyone deserves a chance to go home.

Why do you make sense?
He asked with a chuckle.
I apologized.
Well, now it's gone forever.
I stared at some leaves
and sat on the sidewalk.
No. It's just going home.
My friend grimaced,
noting that I was no longer joking.
Might it be home forever?
If it is, it's lucky.
Is it?
Well, at least it has a home to go to.
I said this quietly,
forgetting to filter my thoughts.
But you found it on the streets.
I sighed through my nose.
It may have been on the streets,
but as long as it's looking,
it'll find a home.

I miss its cute little face.
I laughed.
Why don't you go find it again?
With a bite of my lip,
I responded,
**Because I need to find my home.
And it's been taking me a lot longer
than it's taking the caterpillar.

Honest conversation I had today.
Jack Cunningham May 2015
The heart,
A beautiful yet incompressible locked chest that only a single key can open.
But when finally opened it continually empties, for Love falls out like darkness flows in the ever present vacuum of night.
So we search, lest our love drain away, we search for another container, the ever-emptying heart of another.
When two hearts find each other they connect in the sweetest way possible, and the spiritual ballet continues in perpetuity, continually filling and emptying into each other.

Remove one of them and the love leaks away, leaving nothing behind but a hollow heart and a hollow human longing to be full again.

If ever a man, who saw the gentle
Gifts given, freely, ripeness on branches,
Fortunate blooms by the minuscule clover,
Sun showers in the dances of the yellow
Bees, wisdoms ringing in spirals of ancient
Trees, a man might then be sorely moved
As the crushing work a day world hushes
His spirit, a man might dream of peace
And not sail capsized by navy grey suit,
Slogging in oceans of paper deadlines,
In girding grids, grind of lonely streets,
But know of graces in sauntered day,
Hear the in-songs of long unsuffering
Birds as they jaunt through the leaves,
A spirit might wake into light and still
Be dreaming and not limp wounded
In step of site, petrified salt of job
And unforgiven city, if ever a man
Was a man, born in embodiment
Of perpetual joys and not a toy
Tossed by the hollow spirits
Of the brood indifferent.
If I could shatter
into a million pieces
I would spread myself across the world
So that there could be a part of me
Settled in every place
Maybe then I’d find a home
For each little broken bit
Because if I don't belong
In one place
Then maybe I can find
Safety in many
Maybe then I’d finally feel whole
For if no place has all of me,
Then nothing can break me

But that's not exactly true
Because there is still the Earth

And perhaps the wind will sweep
A fragment of me up
And drop me in the ocean
Maybe the ocean will take it
And work me down to nothing
Maybe somewhere else
A fire will burn me up
Or maybe the rain will come
To wash me away
Maybe a storm will pound me down

Maybe I will turn to dust...

Dust that covers this earth
Dust that will spread
across the Universe

Every night
She read the stars
As if they were words
Writ across the sky.

She found peace
Within the constellations,
Put together
With such care.

It's as if they were poetry
So bright against
The dark night sky
Waiting to be loved.

And she loved those stars
The stretching sky
From where she lay
Upon her mossy bed

So far away yet so very near
They brought her hope
That she belonged
Somewhere in that sky
