Why must all poetry have deep thought?
Why can’t I sit and write
And speak of what I like.
Personally it’s kind of restricting,
Considering I’m not talented,
I write for fun and no one
in particular
Must I have a rhythm or rhyme?
I suppose I unconsciously must,
As it makes me uncomfortable
When I lack such principle, I lust.
See? I totally forced that rhyme,
At this point rhythm is nonexistent
Is this considered a waste of our time?
Not just mine of course,
But yours the reader.
I sit here and ramble
And you’re still here, eager.
Probably not
Probably thinking,
“What is this guy thinking?”
I didn’t mean to rhyme the same word twice,
Kind of tacky, I know.
Too late now, I’ve moved on.
This has been swell,
I’m not only glad
But surprised at your dedication,
Thanks for listening,
Hopefully you related,
Later
I decided I just wanted to write something basic.

the thing is,
you aren't magnificent.
my mind isn't laced,
with the thought of you.
there is no rarity,
beaming from behind your eyes;
no slight shimmer of a marvel,
beaneath the surface of your skin.
falling in line with those ahead,
and those behind:
you bore me.

if i was given a chance to pull back,
your carefully sealed unexceptional flesh,
would i see and feel something,
i was unaware you possessed?
a tiny glimmer of unprecedented original beauty,
an unknown personal outlet
exemplifying fearless individualism?
...or would i be disappointed,
by the nearly hollow expected interior,
singularly displaying a rudimentary *** drive,
and the unimaginative blueprints,
on how to fulfill it.

Pause.

Observe the situation.

Breathe slowly.

Get ready

Psych yourself up...and prepare to face the outside world.

I woke up on the couch with a blanket I didn't get for myself
He sat on the chair opposite of me, still in his army uniform
Like a brother I never had
"I got your letters. After all that, I wasn't going to wake you up."
Twelve weeks later and he still worried about me
I laughed before I even picked my head up
He sat on the coffee table in front of me and kissed my forehead
I almost fell asleep again, I felt safe
I wrapped my arms around his neck and he pulled me up so we could hug
He stayed till midnight
He could have stayed forever, I wouldn't mind
We could have gone out for Italian ice.
But he had pt in the morning and I had lab and
I can't wait to see how he turns out
I am so much more than proud of you.

Numbers are swirling in my head
I regret regression
But I have to graph instead
Of a gossip session.
just sitting in my precalc class and wondering what's going through other girls' heads. funny, really, because i can bet you almost none of them are thinking about math.

We all have to daily eat and drink and also **** and ****
there isn't anything else more basic or common than this,
except a vital need to rest and get some adequate sleep
as the rigours of life take their toll on the body we keep.

Let's not forget the all-important function of breathing to stay alive
which depends so much on various conditions for anyone to thrive
and is the main ingredient for every creature's life on this world;
regardless of anything else it determines how well they're swirled.

We also have a need to keep our bodies and clothes clean
as our daily activities produce sweat and odour that is seen
and can be smelt from a distance which isn't very pleasant
making us wonder if a person noticed with is just a peasant.

There is also an inherent urge to love and be loved in return
which is what makes life worth living for those who discern,
and the very curious thought as to why we've been born at all
or the reason for our existence on this planet Earth we so call.

Written in 2016.
My feet are flat, my eyes are bad

It hurts for me to run

"you've checked out fine" the doctor said

"You're in the Army, son!"

It makes no sense

They can't be right

I've even brought a note

"Stop staring son, and shut your mouth"

"'before I cut your throat"!

"But, Captain....sir"

"I'm all 4F"

"There's no way you'll want me"

"Put your arm down, boy, stop salutin'"

"I'm a Sargeant, don't you see?"

"I'm an NCO, a working man"

"Not a pencil pushing geek"

"I own your life, you're mine now boy"

"You long haired, hippy freak"

"I've got ten weeks, to shape you up"

"I'll teach you how to fight"

"Now grab your gear and follow close"

"And don't lose my tail lights"

"Welcome to the forces folks,"

"Now repeat after me"

"I joined up of my own free will"

"I'm here voluntarily"

"Select your bunk and grab some sleep"

"Your new life starts at dawn

"Forget about the world you know"

"Now, all of that is gone."

I hit the bunk and closed my eyes

And was just falling asleep

When in the room I heard a noise

"Wake up, you  long haired creeps!"

I jumped on up, as did we all

Saluting was our mission

"Drop your arms you maggots..now"

and assume the position"

"Push-ups lads, that's how you'll grow

"to respect just why you're here"

"Right now, though I don't smell courage boys"

"Right now, I just smell fear"

It took us almost half the day

To do ten that were right

If this alone would do me in

I'd be dead before tonight.

We start with the
Crackling record of “Gloomy Sunday”
Playing in the background
The melody goes on slowly
Bare feet moving carefully
to the romantic sound
300 sextillion stars surround us
Intangible moments, we feel
And the intimacy becomes surreal
The taps of raindrops mimicked our excited spirits
We were two melted hearts dancing
in the blazing candlelight
With only a gust of wind
from what seemed like
300 sextillion supernovas
I danced alone
forgetting the place we used to call home
