like a supernova
you shined brighter than all the stars combined
you illuminated the universe better than any other sun
you outshined the entire galaxy

like a supernova
it was ephemeral & a blackhole was all you left behind
******* everything and all the light was gone
an inescapable matter of gravity

an immense and tormenting agony
*you ruined my entire galaxy.
isn't it ironic that the source of the brightest light can emit such darkness?
Raven Oct 2015
I will love you in the same way
the planets orbit around the sun;
without any intention to stop.

i. the black hole

stars
they too fell
beautifully warped
frighteningly dark

nothing matters
time ceases

it's empty
there's only gravity
(and you)

you're trapped.

ii.the event horizon

point of no return

destruction-mode: activated

every inch
every ounce
torn apart

         i                         b                                                                            t

you're gone.

iii. the singularity*

beyond
another galaxy awaits
now
go forth

weightless

you're infinite.
three stages of destruction according to black holes: first, we learn about this black hole and the loneliness and darkness that entails. then, we are destroyed. lastly, we don't even know what has become of us. but what we know is that we're different. and there are infinite possibilities of what will become of us. and only then, can we turn into something better.

moral of the story: we need to let go
Pinky Quinones Sep 2015
You are sun and I am moon.
I'll let you shine throughout the day,
But let me glimmer at night.
And on rare occasions,
let us align
and the world will
stare in awe of our eclipse.

You don't see it, or understand it
I could frankly care less if you do

From the depths of my heart
Referring it to as an ocean
It forms a tsunami when I'm around you

From the depths of my heart
Referring to it astronomically
Millions of shooting stars run across the sky for you

From the depths of my heart
Referring it to everything we are
We are love, in the finest forms.

She had the moon atop palm,
and “righty” in her pocket,
leaving me to wonder which
heavenly body she’d present
next.

This goddess, “gravity,” if
she’d a name, played physics
with my parts, and persuaded
thrice an orbit, circles wherein
the same hopes quantized –

“We’re we born of the same
star? Please? And when again,
can we burn brightly?  Soon?”
She’d reply, and echo come
frigid a comet’s tail, leaving.

So you’d know tonight as
you’d twice before; I’d sip my
beer before you. I’d cry before
you. And a’parallel, tease your
moon atop my very own palm.
I never knew that my one of my best friends from high school was in love with me; all apologies, my dear Karelia.

[NEW]
Scientists know more about the
                 moon
           than the ocean.

[WAXING CRESCENT]
Light can only dive 200 meters
down into the ocean.  Below it,
the “Midnight Zone” glows in the dark.
(By standing in your shadow,
I am hoping to become
                                         bioluminescent.)

[FIRST QUARTER]
Life has a tendency to thrive in hostile environments.
                                                                         For this reason, Jupiter’s moon,
Europa, may be able to support
life within the global ocean of
                                                                         liquid water that is hidden
beneath the ice at its surface.
(This is why I am able to bloom in the dark.)

[WAXING GIBBOUS]
The ocean bows to no one but the moon.  Turn
off the lights.  Turn up the stars.  Low tide wants to
fold back inside itself and lap against the
shores of the Sea of Tranquility.
High tide just wants to be noticed.

[FULL]
But a heated black body sunspot,
                (isolated from the rest
                of the photosphere),
still shines brighter than the moon.  Wolves should
be howling at the sun instead.

Want you here,
just to breathe
in your atmosphere.
Hire me, make me
your career.
When we stare,
time stops,
I might fall out,
carry me on a cot.
I left my heart
on the nightstand,
where my passion began
but had to end.
When your hand
touched the door,
my heart begged for more

The galaxy is swirling above me,
My first cup of interstellar coffee of the summer,
Laced with nebulae of light,
A variegated pattern of asymetrics.

My arched back receives the energy
And my knee caps ***** my legs
To lay in a position of zen.
My hair is the ****** shadow of a sun.

The carbon and titanium falls into earth's mass.
I dream of catching them someday in my opened palm.
The black hole opens to reveal its heart,
Tearing through the stem of its brain.

The sun collapses through the center of the wilderness,
Breaking every tree it first created.
I watch from the distant in my rearview,
The glasses you wielded me to patrol the stars.
