You were here to teach me that I could be loved again.

You were here to teach me that sometimes the best things are the most fleeting.

You were here to teach me that it's okay to have faith even if you don't believe.

You were here to teach me that good days are possible.

You were here to teach me that while you weren't my forever, you were what I wanted my forever to feel like.

You were here to remind me that everyone is human, no matter how strong they seem.

You were here to teach me that it is possible for someone to give as much as I do.

You were here to teach me that I could love fully and completely.

You were here to teach me what true happiness felt like.

You were here to teach me that not everything is what it seems.

You were here to teach me that just because someone stops loving me, doesn't mean I'm not worthy of it.

You were here to teach me that sometimes there is nothing I can do.

You were here to teach me to let go of the things I can't control.

You were here to teach me that it doesn't matter how much I love someone if they don't love me back.

You were here to teach me that I can love someone mentally different from myself.

You were here to teach me that communication only goes as far as the comprehender.

You were here to teach me that sometimes the biggest war is within oneself.

You were here to teach me that I can survive loss.

You were here to teach me that I'm much stronger than I thought I was.

You were here to teach me that no matter how angry I get, I can never let go of the love I received.

You were here to teach me that I don't hold a grudge when I truly love someone.

You were here to teach me that it's okay to let go, even when I don't want to.

You were here to teach me that there are beautiful people in the world that crack under pressure.

You were here to teach me that tears are just love falling away.

You were here to teach me that it's okay not to be okay, but that I will be.

by Solitaire Archer

Harken My Daughters I bid listen to me
And as I say these Words So Mote it be

Teach her from now till time is forgot
Teach her broom and teach her ***
Teach now no reason to hide
Teach her scents and times and tides
Teach her hues and Teach her to bide

Teach her Moons and teach her flowers
Teach her herbs and to keepsafe Our bower
Teach her Air and Water and Fire
Teach her Oak and Teach her lyre
No buildings of Stone No meter high Towers
Let her Dance in the Snow and Dance in the Showers

Hark to me my Daughters dear Teach her so she has naught to fear

Show her Signs and cards and runes
Teach to her to call down the Moon
Teach her Sight and Teach her Bane
Teach her to invoke my Name
in my Place too- call down the Power
In our Circles or in our Bowers

As I have taught now you must too
Pass it forward your line ensue
Daughter to daughter your line in Light
for this moment forward as far as Sight
Witch follows Witch for eternitys Flight
Daughter to Daugther gives Power and Might

Harken My Daughters Listen me

The world will tattoo your secrets
Onto the palms of your hands
To teach you
To sleep with fists closed
And to never show anyone
What you hold in your hands
It is to teach you
Sleight of hand
It is to teach you
How to hide in plain sight.

The world will carve your regrets
Onto the inside of your eyelids
So every time
You close your eyes,
Everything you need
To just forget is
Burning bright and fierce in your face.
It is to teach you
To keep your eyes open
It is to teach you
How to never even blink.

The world will stamp your mistakes
Onto your tongue
To teach you
To keep your mouth shut
And to always think before you speak
It is to teach you
The power of words
It is to teach you
How to choose your words carefully.

The world will write your weaknesses
On the walls of your heart
So every time
You let someone
Steal it and break it,
Your flaws all spill out
On the ground for everyone to see.
It is to teach you
To be coldhearted and cautious
It is to teach you
How to keep your heart safe.

The world will graft wings
Onto your ankles
To teach you
When to run away
And when to stand your ground.
It is to teach you
speed;
It is to teach you
How to escape.

The world will brand road maps
Onto the soles of your feet
So every time
You’re looking for
A way out (or in),
your feet already know the way there.
It is to teach you
direction
It is to teach you
How to navigate the world.

By the time
the world is done with you,
It will have left its marks.
Wear these marks
Not with shame,
But pride,
As I have failed to do.
Might make this longer later

Teach your child
to plant a tree
than pluck one
that was never
her own entity
but its own

Teach your child
to make  a painting
of a flower
as a gift
than give a bouquet
that will die soon
or instead
teach her to
give a sapling
that will grow
into a memory
which will hold
much power

Teach your child
to question
than cower
to vain rules
and illogic
that steal her
playful affection
and her artless frolic

Teach your child
to climb trees
before the
ladders to
supreme echelon

Teach her
that when she collapses
she must stand up
with grace and poise
like the shining sun
for after
the night
is done
laying its darkness
it rises again
the sun

Teach your child
the colors of mankind
Yellow or Orange
Red or Brown
Black or White
to accept each one
everyone
without the division
of vanity
of power
or a crown

Teach your child
to create
her own meaning
of Love

Teach her to
listen to the story
of every tear
that bears grief
and to
speak aloud
to bespeak
wisdom and virtue
in brief

Teach your child
about the freedom
in and of the mind
before she rebels
to venture outside
with people
who care less
about her kind
but more about
filling the space
on a car seat

Teach your child
to believe
in possibilities
and have faith
in the certainties
of unlocking mysteries

Teach her
to fuel
her curiosities

Teach your child
values that were not
taught to
the crowd
then you will
stand a mother
full and proud.

Teach me Lord
Never to judge
when perfect I am not

Teach me Lord
Never to preach
When follow thou I not

Teach me Lord
Never to curse
when kind words fail me

Teach me Lord
Never to hurt
when healing is difficult

Teach me Lord
Never to preen
when virtues I fall short

Teach me Lord
Never to be arrogant
for I have not all

Teach me Lord
Never to be cruel
Lest your rage I invite

Teach me Lord
Never to seek revenge
I may too have betrayed

Teach me Lord
Never to Lie
spinning stories comes naturally

Teach me Lord
To be merciful
To forgive
To praise
To comfort
To utter truths
To be faithful
To stay strong
To be open
To be guarded
To be peaceful
To be resigned
To be humble

But above all to Love like you
Teach me Lord  your values, give me the strength to stay strong, when my miserable self , prostrate before thyself.

In the darkness of constricting depression
I begged the Lord to give me joy even if it killed me,
and He promised me it most assuredly would,
for this is joy’s mantra:

“Death to self!”

It is simply not possible to know the deepest kind of joy
until we have experienced the anguish of death to self
with a cruel stake of affliction though our hearts.
For it is there on the altar of sacrifice
when we have finally surrendered what is most dear to us,
when we have willingly brought our costliest gifts
to lay humbly at the feet of the King,
that we are raised up to know firsthand His resurrection joy
through the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings.
No one who has ever truly learned that
“to live is Christ and to die is gain”
has ever escaped this path.

Find me even one.

There is nothing quite like rejection to teach us about God’s love,
nothing quite like loss to teach us of His joy,
nothing like storms to teach peace,
nothing like ruined plans to teach patience,
nothing like loneliness to teach kindness,
nothing like failure to teach us of His goodness,
nothing like betrayal to teach faithfulness,
nothing like being completely misunderstood to teach gentleness
and nothing like humiliation to teach us self-control.

Why is this?

Because there is nothing like pain to chase us to Jesus
and to teach us to rely so helplessly on His Spirit’s filling.
And when we have His filling, we will know His fruit.
~~~
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
~Philippians 1:21
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them *******, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
~ Philippians 3:7-11
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
~ Galatians 5:22-25
“Then He said to them all: 'Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will save it.'“
~ Luke 9:23-24
(the tics will talk 'til twelve o'clock)
When we make time,
When we listen:
The theistic preach deistic talk;
The atheistic preach pragmatic talk;
The agnostic preach proleptic talk;
The heretic preach shismatic talk;
The mystic preach prophetic talk.
(the mesianic and satanic never stop)
When we have time;
Then we listen:
The optimistic teach hypnotic talk;
The pessimistic teach sarcastic talk;
The altruistic teach empathetic talk;
The idealistic teach synergistic talk;
The pacifistic teach semantic talk;
The body politic teach charismatic talk;
The technocratic teach robotic talk;
The romantic teach poetic talk;
The critic teach cathartic talk;
The moralistic teach dualistic talk;
The ascetic teach platonic talk.
(the artist would rather not talk)
When we find time,
Do we listen:
The lunatic speak quizzotic talk;
The neurotic speak pathetic talk;
The chauvanistic speak monistic talk;
The nihilistic speak ballistic talk;
The hedonist speak narcissistic talk;
The futuristic speak galactic talk.
(the minimalist hasn't the time to talk)
Just don't.
Look.
Some tic reset the clock.
tic toc, tic toc, we all run round the clock.
Teach me to love you right
So that I can love you best
Teach me to how to fight
So you can worry less
Teach me to care for you
By caring for me too
This mutual thing we do
It is what binds us two
Teach me to crave you more
So that I'll miss you when I bore
Teach me to hate you more
So that I can love you forevermore
Teach me to entirely forget
What and where broken hearts went
Teach me to rememeber sorrows, so I can cry myself wet
Teach me to smile for tomorrow, so I can laugh at memories when we met
Teach me to say goodbye
To you dear my heart still flies
Teach me never to pass by
So I can keep going on, 'til this heartache dies
I dunno if I posted this again or what. I found it in my FB page.
Teach me how to Kneel
Teach me discipline
Embarrassment.
Teach me martyrdom
tell me it means Nothing.
You can't be a martyr
if you only die
for yourself
you're not a god.
Tell Me I'm not a god
Tell me with your fists
with your spit.
your boot.
Teach me submission
take my pride in your palm
torture it until I am human.
Teach me guilt
Teach me ownership
of my sins. of myself
hold my chains
I need them like fire
needs water
reduce me to embers
when you start to boil
The bubbles are how I know
I've gone too high
I love watching your bubbles trickle in slowly
how quickly they spill over the lip of the kettle
Teach me with boiling water
Teach me with fire
teach me with fear.
I want to beg for it.
Please, make me beg for it.
my life.
if you make me beg for it.
I might want it again.
Days teach me
To always dream
However it may never come true
But that's the best way
To live life through
Days teach me
To dream so high
Never give up and always try
Never let go or say goodbye
Days teach me
That when there is darkness
For sure dawn is the next
And when everything is so tiring
For sure there would be time to rest
Days teach me
To always care for a friend
Always be true and never pretend
Always love with no end
And the broken hearts try to mend
Days teach me
Never to feel the hate
Always be confident and never hesitate
Always believe in fate
Days teach me
That lovers meet & stay together
And others are apart
So if you are one who have been left behind
Don't cry and suffer
Just search for a new start
Days teach me
The past I must forget
And nothing needs my regret
Days teach me
To open my heart and forgive
Cause that will help me to survive and live
Days teach me
To always offer my helping hand
And never doubt in people when there is no proof
And always try to understand
Days teach me
Not to be shy
If I have done something wrong
But to admit it and be proud that I have learned
A lesson that will help me to be strong
DORK
Christopher Mata Aug 2014
nerd, dork, no life
Dorks my favorite because practically its my name now
I'm usually buried in a book and I usually. Get asked what's the point?
Honestly I think it'll make me a better lover
Because when I find a girl I'll be able to teach her about science so she can understand the bond that I feel for her
I'll be able to teach her about math so we can view love at a different angel
I'll be able to teach her about history so she'll understand when I say that if my love were to flow into the ocean it would make BP's 2010 incident look like a drop of black paint on a canvas of red
I'll be able to teach her about English especially present participles you know running, jumping, skipping words that describe an action that's ongoing that's why she'll never hear me say I love you but hear I'm Loving you
I'll be able to teach her about art because id love to paint her like one of my French girls
And even thought I'm buried in books there is still so much I don't know about human interactions
she'll be able to teach me about sadness and how to make it go away
she'll be able to teach me about happiness and how to make it stay
she'll be able to teach me about jealousy and how its like a fire that will burn you from the inside out
she'll be able to teach me about lust and how it always leads to disaster
she'll be able to teach me about loyalty and how its the key to perfection
But all this day dreaming was interrupted by my daily bully whose only words were insults
I gave him a look that if I were superman would've left a gap between his eyes
He asked what I thought of him
So I explained..
Well scientifically speaking you and beauty are like a magnet with the same charge
Mathematically speaking your ego is like the number 5i .. imaginary
Historically speaking how you manage to speak with a lack of a brain is the 8th wonder of the world
But in plain old English you're always looking for someone to actually love you back
And by the way its Mr. Dork to you
