Loving you is like trying to light a damp cigarette
The skin eventually burns but the heart stays dark

Good morning, dear poetess,
How your words open my heart,
Awaken my mind,
Touch my soul.

Good morning, dear poetess,
How you enflame my passion,
Enlighten my thoughts,
Make me whole.

Good morning, dear poetess,
How your words encourage me,
Make my tears well,
Make my thoughts roll.

Good morning, dear poetess,
How you strengthen me,
Make me aware,
Let me reach each goal.

Good morning, dear poetess,
Thank you...
For being you...
For sharing you...
Thank you....
Thank you for your inspiration and encouragement.

DaSH the Hopeful
Not ready to talk
So I keep
Walking into walls
That are too tough to fall
So they just wobble then stall
And they seem so tall
The suns just a memory
This winter is a death sentence
And everyone's dead to me
Just because I remember what has been said to me
Doesn't mean I have to scratch the words in my skin
I don't feel the wind
Because my walls block me in
And while the windows rattle
The walls won't bend

This isn't home.

Just because of an area code
Home is in the eyes that stare at these structures and see no demise besides acting surprised when they eat me alive
When I knew all along
Along for the ride
A **** or a pipe a priority
Above all
The majority **** y'all over anyway
So gimme good *** bud in plenty jays
And let my *** incinerate
No one to help inside this trap of myself
These walls become skin
When contemplating them

This isn't home.

Just because of an area code
Home is in the eyes that stare at these structures and see no demise
Just a task to adapt to
Blast through
And never come back to
Home is behind my eyes
Ones that don't need to know the what's or the why's
Or the length or the size
Just to get by
Ones that know I don't need to get high to see beyond these walls to know

*This isn't home.
There's some leftover gasoline
A few ashes too
          Inside my heart
From the last loser
Who tore me apart
                You could use that
To light a fire in my soul
               Just grab a match
     Make a tiny little spark
       Love me right
Brighten my heart
Keep my flame burning
   Treat my love
Like priceless art

*All you need to do
Is breathe oxygen in my vicinity
To keep it lit

I shut the door tight behind me, I hear the wind and rain howling a way.  I close my umbrella and shake it out, getting drops of water on the cheap linoleum floor.  I remove my sopping wet jacket and place it on the wood coat rack.  My rain boots squeaking as I approach the reception desk.  Before I reach her she gestures to the sign that reads: Please Take a Number.  I reach out and grasp the white ticket hanging from the small red contraption underneath the sign.  I let out a slow sigh as I know my number is quite high and won't be called for quite sometime.  I look up and notice the crowded waiting room.  The fluorescent lights flickering for a brief moment.  I spy an empty seat near the window and squeak my way over.  I sit down and get in a comfortable position to watch the storm brew in all it's ugliness.

The blue eyed boy seated next to me remarks on the weather, he too is dripping wet.  I smile and he agrees that is riveting to watch, lightening flashes illuminating our young, awe-struck, glistening eyes.  They truly meet for a moment, creating more young wonder.  We laugh and talk for hours on end, playing little games, making time fly.  We almost don't want our numbers to ever be called, but the numbers climb higher.  We make friends with the elderly man in plaid, a woman to our left who sits upright with a cat in her lap, and a small fair haired boy across the room.  We never spoke to the boy only made him giggle by making ridiculous faces and crossing our eyes.

I look at the clock and then back to my companion.  The fluorescent lights flicker and I notice my soul mate has grown wrinkles around his now deep blue eyes.  I touch my own face to feel my own laugh lines, feeling a twinge of pride.  He captures my hand in his and motions to the door.  My number lights up red on a black screen, the screen to left lights up with his number as well.  We get up stiffly and slowly shuffle our way to the door, our hands intertwined tightly in anxiousness.  This moment is what I had forgotten I was waiting for.  I grab the cold, metal handle and turn the **** with my aching hands.  Relieved we no longer must wait, we walk through the door together, into oblivion.

Nothing like demons
to keep me up at night.
I'm so stressed,
where is the light?
My brain wishes to shut down
but my eyes put up a fight.

They're not allowed to close.
I'm forced to watch it all.

Nothing like work
that gives me anxiety.
With my mouth wide open
I scream so silently.
I rise from my bed
and I try to pace quietly.

They're not allowed to close.
I'm forced to watch it all.

Nothing like thoughts
that make me talk to myself.
Always out loud
as I pace by my shelf.
Questioning existence and loneliness,
too much trouble for oneself.

They're not allowed to close.
I'm forced to watch it all.

I know when I look in a mirror
when the world wakes in the morning.
I'll see deep, purple and black bags,
I know that's a warning.
And everyone will question,
but they'll never see me mourning.

They're not allowed to close.
I'm forced to watch it all.

As the first light
of the upcoming day,
graces me with it's presence.
I find my way
over to the now golden window.
With one deep sigh, i'll be okay.

They're not allowed to close.
I want to see it all.
Good morning Insomnia.

I spot the Time

~ twirling into thin ringlets~

like ribbons gliding
the length of room

I chase for the lead
and freely spin to catch
the tails end of time

~ribbons race~
about face and dosado

Dancing into another day
*ready set
here we go!!
Good Day to All and Everyone!!

Autumn
And in the absence of light
The darkness embedded her soul once again
Memories penetrateing her facade of happiness
The scars reflecting her desires
But always hidden among the smiles
Her capture
An invisible man daring to combat every thought, want , need
The only thing left alone
The only reflection that stayed even was
Her persistent parasite
The tilt a whirl of emotion
Numbed by the red slices
But they have ceased to exist due to promises
The tornado of feeling is
Numbed by the cold
The frost bite
Oh how sweet
Take it all away
Because this it won't leave as many scars
The invisible man he can come back when I'm thawed
For an instant in this meaningless life I will be his utter essence
As I succomb to his sweet touch
His immortal being will withdraw
As the cold infiltrates his barracks
I was asked why winter was my favorite season. This came to mind along with other inspiration.

Sewn together out of old
flannel memories and work shirts of the past
a network of  veins
plumping generations of
angry blood
We carry traces of mean,
scared people
Terrible things
not fondly remembered
at reunions
And yet are present in the tapestry

But

There are many
kind
compassionate
beautiful souls as well

They are all on your tapestry
Know it
and display it well
