When you are born my stamp is on you
I appear to you in the cradle
from then on you are mine
I will dwell with you forever.
I'll make you less than you are
and when you're old enough
you will feel me there
FOR I AM THE DARK BIRD!
I'll revel in the hate you feel for me
just when you think you're free from me
I'll sweep in with a vengeance
and you'll be mine again.
I hide in the recess of your mind
and i feed off your fear of me
FOR I AM THE DARK BIRD!
Black as the raven, pitch black as the night
I'll sentence you to a living hell.
On a cold and rainy night
you can hear me calling out to you
the sound of me will drive you crazy.
From the Cradle to the Grave
I AM YOUR DARK BIRD!!!
Please let me know what you think? This  is about the struggle in my life with Depression. The most personal thing I have ever written. Is it that bad that no one likes it?

You don't know how lucky you are*
You're innocent from the terrible things I've been through
You're the ******* cheerleader
And I'm the ******* freak
You fell in love with a creature incapable of loving back fully
And I fell in love with a fragile fairy so trusting
Here we go again
Into a story told a thousand times
Into a poem told with a thousand rhymes
Here I go again breaking another heart
Here I go again tearing my soul apart
For something I think I deserve I make myself incapable of loving myself or another
Hm. My imagination ran wild a bit.

I would rather dream an eternity
To sleep all moments away,
Keep my eyes closed
To the horrors of today,
Like a nightmare
People living it everyday,
Are we not
Human kind
Mankind
We are the same,
But to look at the world
A tinder box of hatred
Will we just throw it all away
Can good win
When bad is always seen each day,
Where is the silver lining
Where is the happy ending
Cant we all be happy if not for a day
I wish to sleep, to dream my life away,
Because reality is the nightmare
That which keeps my eyes closed, to dream my days away

I wished to speak to be heard
Voice,
Speech,
Sound,
But a butterfly
Did land upon my lips
Its elegant wings,
Gently dissipated every word I said
I tried to hear as wings ascended,
From all around,
I touched my ears
Fingers lacerated by soft wings
Like petals,
Wings Faintly
Brushed against my hair,
Silence,
Muted,
Quite,
Was the only sound
I only had my eyesight as
All around was anarchy
Wings ascending
Flesh,
Cutting,
Lacerating,
Blood,
Was upon the floor,
Nothing heard
Screams silenced by delicate wings,
Those who didn't have
Voice,
Hearing,
Sight,
Stood still, frozen in place
While wings adorned them
I ran, I still had sight,
People upon the earth
Fallen,
Bled out,
To many wings had cut,
But as I looked
Eye lids heavy,
I looked in the window,
And saw two on my lids
Pushing them down ,
With each flap of there wings,
Darkness progressed
I was nearly blind,
Then the world I saw
For the last time,
My last view delicate creatures
Wings soft and colourful,
Now I am in darkness,
Blind,
Silence,
Speech,
Taken away with faint wings
I surrendered myself
My fate, my senses taken,
Only death did await me now.

It was the light show of the heavens
Grazing the atmosphere,
Like fairies skimming on a pond,
"Then the light faded"
But something was wrong
Shadows moved upon there own
No longer were they prisoners
The light had brought Darkness
Upon us all,
They were like trap doors
For what ever fell in to the shadows grasp
Was gone
Flesh,
Bone,
Cloth,
All consumed
As if fallen in to a black hole
Street lights were a place
For ladies of the night
But people crowded around
Where ever light shone
Illuminated
Bright,
Florescent,
The shadows would dare not go,
Those on the rim were easy pray
For a wrong step
And in to the night screaming
Then silence
Never to be seen again
But shadows get in to places where
light Is needed
But a shadow print
Placed over metal then it was gone away,
So the lights flickered
On,
&
Off,
With each flicker
The crowd thinned
Screams then a soundless nothing
The emergency light glowed on
Like an angel keeping those below from harm
But the light was dimmer than before
Many were lost as time went by
But the sunrise was ticking closer by
As dawn broke upon the world,
The ghouls of shadow
Screamed as in Pain,
The light corrupted the darkness
It was ****** in to its on abyss
Then nothing,
What was once inanimate
Then full of darkened life
Consumed the world in black
Was once again upon the foot,
The light of the heavens
Had opened a gap
Where living darkness crept upon the ground
Corrupted shadows
Gave them life,
But now light had brought there demise
Life will never be the same
When light turns darkness alive.

One pill was too little,
Two was just enough.
Three was to push the limit.
Four was to prove it wasn't a bluff.
Five was to be thin.
Six was for my ribs to be a cage
and my heart be the bird.
Seven was to purge myself from within.
Eight was for my hipbones to stick out like knives.
Nine was to ensure that I might not wake up alive.
~ a.m.l
I know the rhyme scheme is off.

Suddenly, life comes crashing in
calling you to participate or leave.
Run or stay, either way life wins, you die in the end.
Spin that roulette wheel, red or black
place your bets, live or die.
What if living is a form of dying?
And dying a form of living?
Who are we to conform in this beautiful carousel of life?
Why do we have to live by rules?
Who made these rules?
Rules are made to be broken.
Hearts are made to be broken.
Why try? after all no one gets out of death alive.
And no one alive gets out of dying.

I use the pen to dig in to the paper
To exhume the words
For my
Darkest writes
They are decayed upon the white
Black corrodes the pure
Pungent
Faded
Not as they were before,
They stink of death upon the paper,
As black infests
The write is dark, it feels cold
The ink drips,
                       ,
                      ,
                    ,
                   ,
On white like,,,,,,,,,,,blood
These words only fitting
on my darkest writes
I exhumed the words for my latest terror
The corpses of words,
Shrivelled dry upon the paper.
If people wonder where my darker writes come from

Dead eyes take everything in
Cross-stitched,
Never open,
But nothing escapes its dead view
On the cross it hangs
Movement seen
Mind contemplates,
Gust of wind,
Old tattered clothes
Adorn it body
Silence is its terror,
The corn grows flush year upon year
Crows carcasses
Bones circle this tattered thing
Half buried in mud
Black feathers in the wind
No friend of the sky now perches here
Curiosity,
Playful,
Hide & seek,
Children find the scarecrow
Open a button,
Hand goes in, a bird nest rests
Fingers indulge,
All that is heard is children's fear
As decomposing fingers hit the earth below
They run,
Breath heavy
Tears fill little eyes,
Darkness invades the landscape
As night falls,
The curious have no hope,
Its boots touch ground, silence is heard
As branches travel in search
Children's screams,
Heard but now to far away,
But there are others here
Burning the crop,
Thought unseen, Music hides
Cries of terror now far into the dark
An echo of what was seen,
Its veins penetrate the fertile earth,
Wheels expel air,
As music hides the terror yet to be seen
Three of fertile Flesh
The earth if giving will feed tonight,
As one goes in to the field of dreams
Where nightmares feed
Nails of thorn rip a silent throat
Only in there minds they scream
Crimson life upon the corn
The ground inhales
Nourishment for life next grown,
The music silences
Only the wind speaks, through the corn
As three
Now two
Where life was snapped broken shards
Litter the ground, a miss stepped foot
Low light not seen,
Impaled,
Upon broken life,
Now lifeless,
Roots do feed as life drains into the earth
Now only one
Alone
Frightened
Fearful
Of what slept within the corn,
No breath felt
As inanimate things don't breath,
A feeling of wetness upon there chest
What behind now feeding,
Fingers of branches Ingest
The scarecrow reinvigorated
No longer thin, gorged on life
As just
Bone
&
Skin
Crumple upon the earth,
And the scraps enveloped
This night, the field & earth feed well
As the crossed stitched mouth
Upon the cross smiles as a
Mouth stitched closed still got its fill...
Long but I hope you enjoyed the read, comments most welcome

Delusional Illusion
I ****** up
And I'm sorry
But I thought you'd understand
How wrong I was,
Instead you took the knife that was already stabbing me
And twisted it deeper into my chest

I now feel the pain you asked me to endure
And I'm not sure I can forgive myself
For what I've done to you
But I also can't forgive you

I wish I could see the beauty in the world
one, that is clearly dreary, cynical and cold.
This old planet, home to millions of species
and billions of humans, hanging in orbit,
turning, turning, forever turning.
I want to see the romance of the stars,
without knowing they're dead cold and lifeless.
I want to hear music in the crashing waves,
without knowing the seas are rising, and species are dying.
I want to touch the earth and feel its life beating in sync with mine.
I want everyone to taste clean water, hot food and freedom.
But, I know that this show called life is full of spite,
there's no *** of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Just a huge arch of colours in the sky caused by water droplets.
There's no lollipop or band aid big enough for this broken earth's pain.
Lollipops and rainbows only equal tornadoes, and rain.

We each have an apple
A serpent that wishes us to taste
The fruit
Apple,
Juicy,
Ripe,
But each apple does not taste the same,
Each one has its Aroma
Tainted,
Evil,
Savour,
That forbidden taste
Slips down too easily, down the throat
But each one has been bitten by the serpent
Slithered,
Injected its rot in to the taste,
What is each persons sin,
The taste of sweet exploitation
We all have a demon hidden within
It only takes but a Bite
For the poison to corrupt
To change what and who one used to be...
