Whisky, whisky.
My worst
Best friend.
You have embarassed us
Again.

Whisky, whisky.
One kiss leads to
Another.
Angry lover.
A terrible mother.

Warm. Sweet.
All a woman should be.
Smiling
With perfect
White fangs.
Whisky,

Whisky.
If we keep biting
And clawing at her
Heart, it's your
Fault
If I end up as single
As your malt.

Sickened he was by her bad word choices, special need for
incongruous expressions, words spelled the way she likes,
blanks that can never be filled, invented quotes, fabricated realities,
thunderous "****" repeated in intervals, as if  each an inlaid jewel,
and then, having no fixed meaning for that favorite word of hers,
nothing more than an intention to denigrate ******,
                                                                                   and women as a whole,
a subconscious compulsion, strangely included, her's also in it's ambit.
He understands her compulsion for such expression thus--
fulfillment of some innate need, an expression of her own worthlessness,
resulted from some grave injury of the mind that happened,
sometime early in her childhood, one could guess.
He took the decision to mark her "UNREAD" for ever
with deep anguish of course, after reading her many fine and sane pieces.
A poetry site distinguished, moderated by editors, a pleasure for participants, as one of those rare sites where authentic discussion on poetic aesthetics is held,  edits done to polish a poem, now finds a fall of standard, which is painful.Core of the problem is few with interests other than poetic..
Their attitude is strange,  and every one pretends emperor's new clothes are fine..
Or is it because some want to be e.e cummings, Bukowski and few others, all at once?

Rains lashing down
The thunderous clouds
Applauding every drop
The clouds have opened up
Their hearts to bring hope
To the parched souls on Earth
The seeds have been lying dormant
It’s time for them to germinate
Covering our garden with greenery
For it will find roots in the soul
Deeply entrenched with belief
That every shower does not wreak havoc
It also ushers new life and hope*

The crane turns
Sunlight blinds me
Like you did

I haven't seen shade
Since our eyes first met

The layer of gray water
On the surface of
This fresh concrete

Is as smooth as the skin
On your shoulders

When you undressed
Before me
And the moonlight threw a

Living
Breathing
Cliché
Over us

The sound of machines
Turning off for the day
Gives a silent vacuum

Within which I meditate
Over the beauty even a
Construction site holds when its
Things remind me

Of you

The gray pathways
Cobbled with stone
Time has entrenched
Melancholy in every piece
It leads to desolation
Yet he walks the beaten path
Bleeding his exposed feet
Blindfolded by pain
Numbness has set in
Every day as he walks past
Shoveling him away
Like a pile of dirt
Trashed away from life
Only to heap more misery
On the trampled heart
Its feeble cry unheeded
By the city, that walks past
Avoiding the dark alley

For three years she has moved me
Through the wonders of her eyes.
Flowing wells that glisten,
And beckon within.
     Her sudden movements
     Change direction
     To challenge or outwit
With the wonder of her eyes.

Furtive corners in the waters
Of her eyes, looking out:
A blink, a wink or shying tear
Disturbs ripples in my mind.

     My heart's flow rises
     When she smiles:
She is the well-spring of  my life
With the wonder of her eyes.

Her hands direct the steerage
Of her course.
Sandboxes swell and dip,
And change to wonderous seas.
Her real dimensions are
Refracted, movements and directions,
Then defracted from my sight.

Imagine, her young colours
Looking out
Through the wonders
Of her eyes.
For my second born beauty, Margret Ellen.

The Ending Of The World

I was sure the world would end today
It was the beginning of the fall
That others would tell the story
And pass it on to all

Not sure that I would hear the news
I'd  see others on their phones
As they talked about the days events
And wonder if I know

I was sure that this would happen
For the day it started wrong
Realizing as I drove to work
I almost turned to go back home

There was an emptiness inside me
And a panic not the norm
Yet I did not exit on the ramp
For my half way point was gone

So I spent my day just waiting
No connection, all alone
I know that you can feel my pain
For I left my phone at home

The world it did not end today
Was not the beginning of the fall
I realized this when I rushed home
And saw I missed no calls

I am so so not important...lol

*Carl Joseph Roberts
Don't you hate it when your more then half way to work and realize, crap I left my cellphone at home. You are just sure that today will be the day the world will end, the day you really needed it...lol.

We live in a small place,
In the midst of river,
Encircled by water
People said that
‘It is a largest river island’.

We call it
‘Majuli’!
Land placed
At centre!

There was a time
When,
Our life were self contain
With nature and culture!
But, almighty probably
Do not like it!

Inundation gradually shifted to floods,
Small strike of water on land
Converted strike of wild waves
Land takes away,
Crops started to damage,
People lost their land,
Water on the ground and beneath decline,
Water in well poisoned,
Our tradition cut loose!

The farmer......
The potter......
The craftsman......
The fisherman........
The weaver...........
The...........
All are migrated
To the island with concrete
and mock matter
In search of livelihood!

Those who are here
Like us,
Still waiting
With a hope, that
Almighty will change its mind,
‘Bless us!’
Again we will
Perform ‘Sinha- Jatra’ of
Post-modern era!
On the occasion of World Environment Day. Celebrated on 5th June. This year focal theme is “Small Island and Climate Change”.
‘Majuli’ is island located in the midst of river Brahmaputra in Assam, India. It was a heritage point of nature and culture; hub of Baisnobaite  (Sankari) religious and  cultural practices with numbers of cultural complexes. The rich nature nurtures the rich heritage of culture and people. But from several decades the island is facing threats of nature and people lost their valuable assets and livelihood. Moreover, ongoing weather and climatic anomalies divested the situation with crop failure, water crisis, and sudden divested floods. Moreover, in larger area ground water is contaminated with arsenic.
There is need of strategic focus approach in the area for climate change adaptation and resilience planning.

‘Sinha –Jatra’- first Assamese Bhauna (theatre).

Turn the page
Start a new chapter
Stand on a new stage
Feel the rapture
Escape your cage
Just
Don't let life capture
Your rage.

Turn the page
Start anew
Begin a new age
Those dreams pursue
Use life to gauge
When to engage, and
When to say 'adieu'
Just
Don't let life capture your rage.

Life is a book
It's pages to turn
Which direction you take
May not always be firm
Be firm with yourself
Follow your path
If faced with a fork.....then
Uncork your rage
And choose.

I woke up 35 today.
Thought it wouldn't feel
Any different from 34, but
This time...

I'll buy an extra few flowers
For my mother.
It's her day too.

I'll buy my dad a cigar and a
Cold one.
For all the gray hairs.

I'll thank my brother for
Being
Just that
For 33 years,

And my girlfriend for not
Minding what we
Both think
Might be the earliest whiffs
Of an 'old-man-smell'
On me.

It's the first rainy day in weeks.
I'll have a
Few beers too many tonight,
And just stand in the downpour.
I'm an adult now; I don't
Have to wear a raincoat.

It's my party and I'll
Laugh hysterically

If I want to.
