You have the ability
To better yourself
It is simply up to you
Get at it and be the best
Acquire knowledge
And sharpen your mind
But, most of all
Be gentle and kind

a tribute to
Vivian Francesca Jarvis

Allow me please some bragging rights
Of this I will attest
My mom's a brave, accomplished gal
She's one of the Best

Born to be an actress
A director and a coach
She starred in Joan of Arc
I have the right to boast

She's been in countless films
A career of great yield
She played with Sydney Poitier
In Lilies of the Field

She is a character actress
Won many awards
To hear her tell her tales of stage & screen
One is never bored!

Not only an actress
My mom's an activist
League of Women Voters
There is quite a list!

She stood up for the poor man
And during Vietnam
She directed guerilla theater
And was threatened with a bomb!

Someone threw a rock
With a note attached
Saying a Molotov Cocktail
Would go through our window next!

She's had trials and tribulations
Depression. Migraines long
But she always rose above it
The Show Must Go On!

Now she is still acting!
Though West Nile Virus took its share
Of a once sharp memory
And she's in a power chair!

She starred in Mother Courage
And truly this is she
I am grateful for my mom

and proud as proud can be!**

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Albeit a bit early. The actual date is
Sunday May 8, 2016
But my mom's been SO good
I descided to celebrate early!

Forgive me for kinda bragging here
but my mother IS an exceptional woman
Talented in SO many ways!

You can look her up on Facebook
Or the internet

I LOVE HER WITH ALL MY HEART!

How can I help my brother
When my own pain won't abate?
How can I lift my sister
When I can't move my own weight?
How can I feed the hungry
When I can't fill my own plate?
I help folk who feel guilty
Yet I can't clean my own slate...
Is there a way to move them
Through the vagaries of fate?

There are principles in life
Which always undergird
Many are the trials of life
I've only seen one-third
Sometimes we are captured
A sadly cag-ed bird
But one thing ALWAYS brightens days
Perhaps you may have heard
A smile that reaches to the eyes

And a KINDLY SPOKEN WORD.

Sometimes I don't feel like I have much to give. But it is at those times when I don't feel I can help anyone that I realize that God is giving me a gift. The gift of encouragement. And that's what I want to pass on to you.

Undergird = to lift a boat from the water
with ropes to clean the underside.

So it came to pass and the battle begun
By the bite of an adder ,
a sword shinning in sun
You pierced Mordred's heart
with the spear you found
He split your head
knocking you to the ground

Return my sword to the Lady of the Lake
I've not long ,
for tomorrow I won't make
Place my body on my shield
Use it as my tier
Let my people see and shed any tears
Bear me away
to the far sacred shore
My eyes are dimming
I can see no more
Seal my dreams in my breast to be
This be my final request
I'll ask of thee

and fire's sceptre
crown of blood
robe of spectres

dual tounges
speaking stealth
elites on fire
for their wealth

coal black tombs
washed with white
sepulchres
proclaiming "right"

"moral high ground"
in the wrong
they sell us all out
for a song

the rocket's red glare
anthems made of thin air
gave naught to the night
for our flag was NOT THERE

Oh, say, can you see?
or are you yet blind?
for we are not FREE
we are in a bind!

STAR STRANGLED BANNER
thunder rolls, lightning crashes
for whom the bell tolls?
for THEE, REIGN OF ASHES!

We are a selfish species
Global warming, nuclear warfare, ******
We created out own fears, they all centralize around us
You don't see a mouse setting its own trap
But we polluted out environment beyond recognition
No longer worrying about survival
We go through each and everyday no longer looking up
We spend so much time thinking about people we'll never meet
Because we're all dying
Slowly
And we've accepted it

As a kid when I heard the stories
Of heavens and hells
And gods and ghosts
I thought of those to be true
But as I grew
My education warned me
Not to trust that view

As a child when my elders advised
Do unto others as you would have them do to you
I thought they were impractical
Ignorant of smartness required
To manage things through

By far I thought I was the wise
To have known it all
Realized late in time
How great was that fall

Superficial logic, intellectual materialism
Cloaked my natural state of true mind
Boosting desires, sterile opinions
Leaving the true sense behind

I am thankful to the nature
For giving me an opportune
To study the greatest reality
Why humans are marooned

Time and space are eternal
I am just the part of that infinite
The one awarded with human form
For some past intentions right
I should not take pride in that
For where I am today
Later might be someone else’s part

Man who decoded the mystery of mind
Taught this decades ago
Guard thoughts, actions, and speech
To reach the real goal
Not judge anything and any being
Instead focus on developing clear seeing
As everything is ever changing
Including ones birth realms
A full mind just exhibits knowledge
Only in empty mind wisdom reaps
Don’t get swayed by extremes
Middle way is the path of keep

Now I understand
Message behind the moral stories
What one sows is what one reaps
One gets heavenly pleasures or hellish pain
Exclusively based on law of deeds
One gets what one deserves
For law of nature never fails

But latent power within
Can turn it all around
If not enlightenment
One can at least find in life
A decent ground
Now and in future!
Dedicated to one of the greatest teachers "Shakyamuni Siddharth Gautama Buddha".

One superman that I call him for encouraging people to exploit their power of minds to the fullest to experience peace that they look for in the external sources.  Just like body needs exercise to remain fit, mind needs stillness to be wise. Meditation is the tool to exercise the mind.

It's simple, yet difficult for most.

Crossing the Limits: An Unforging Wasteland

Boom goes the economy
Blooming a shade darker every full moon
Ragged wires and broken tires
All we ever did was try to sustain
The pain of a million pesticides
In our food, in our dreams, in our sleep
Open your eyes and realize
The harm of every arm cut up and torn apart
Trapped in corrupted media
Brainwashed by subliminal messaging
Lend an eye for an ear and save our economy
A foreseeable wasteland near to come
Once true to youth
As with the endangered animals
Prone to extinction
And breeding babies to come
Rising with hysteria
Completion for resources, affluence, sanity
An ecological disturbance hard to ignore
Deterioration
Depletion
Destruction
Truly, the origin of the storm.
Land is a piece of us so treat it with kindness. Seasons are getting shorter and global temperature is on the rise (4 more degrees and we'll be fried.)

Poetry by MAN
A poet is not perfect* although some claim to be
Scribblers of thought watchers of humanity
Pen every emotion fill it with devotion
Ride waves of passion chaotic like the ocean
A poet is not perfect with more than eyes we see
What's hidden what lies between prophecy
Future unfolding the past we keep holding
Now keeps rolling do you remember where you're going?
A poet is not perfect hmm what does this mean?
From life experience write a scene
Words forever blending combinations never ending
Translation of thought keeps the message sending
A poet is not perfect neither is humanity
Speakers of truth live on edge of sanity
Recognize what's broken book wide open
Read between lines multiply the hoping
A poet is not perfect many strive to be
Most fall victim to vanity
Born reactive to what's attractive
Division of emotions leave most subtracted
A poet is not perfect or what you might think
One universal mind flowing in sync
Discovering depth waking from sleep
Breaking silence with words perfect poetry we speak

I'm ready for the tectonic shift
The chasms, canyons and the rifts
I've asked for them
And then been afraid they will show

Well, follow me now
Or follow the ghost
The demon inside
Or the holy host

I've begged and pleaded
Torin, is there panic inside?
The yearning for light
And a pain I can't hide

Well, fall on me now,
As I favor the ghost
Follow me now
Or follow me not

We all want a piece
A piece of this
A piece of that
Our piece of the pie
Straddled up with a jet pack
Its my piece of the sky
Trying for piece
Lying for piece
We'll all have a piece
Piece of cake
Spelling piece right
Brandishing pieces
For a chance at a piece
Fighting for piece
Dying for piece

And never finding inner harmony
I threw my piece away
And found my peace
to be the light,
carry with you
a heart filled with
fiery burning passion
to help

and seek no reward
for thyself
