Chaos

Little did she know,
I love her
and the chaos
in her heart.
I'm watching my every single step
I'm careful not to stumble and fall
One stone on the road
could lead to a landslide
And one broken bone
could ruin it all
I'm watching my every single move
I'm careful not to scare you away
The faintest blow
could lead to a hurricane
And one wrong word
could be the last thing I say.

.
”If you are to love,
love freely and unburdened
by the tombstones
of past miscalculated regrets.”

But the heart
inadvertently beats
to the mismatched rhythms
of a hundred
caged doves’ wings.

If I was in your way
Why didn’t you just say so
Just toss me to the side
And head north

Instead you took me along with you
Kicked me across the street
Dragged me through the dirt
Until the air in me had deflated

Until you got to your destination
Until I had served you my purpose
Until you left me just as you’d found me —
In the way, now flat and lifeless
The clouds went black
the sea got unsteady
and for what reason
just to tell me to live
i could end right now
my blood would slowly
turn the sea red
and when my spirit eventually
leave my tired vessel
it will paint the clouds blue
so others can l...
Which word should end this ?
what is it that you disire?
i want to hug you the way,
winnie the pooh hugs the piglet
I have over analysed
every conversation we ever had,
Dwelled on every gesture you made,
Every minute expression in your eyes,
Even the slightest smirk on you lips,
I have replayed them in my mind a million times,
And I still can't conclude.
What do you mean to me ?
Who am I to you ?
All I know is that I love every bit of you
And you, me
And I can live with this even if this is all we are ever going to have

i want to love you
like a lazy sunday morning
staying in bed
taking our time
sipping coffee
memorising every freckle
like the constellations in the sky
white sheets
and tangled limbs
with the scent of a memory
fresh on our lips.

we crashed together
so naturally
like the sea
against the shore
sandy lips
and ocean eyes
whispering promises
washed away
by morning.
My soul itches for poetry,
Fingers long for the tap of keyboard or scratch of a pen.
My mouth curves around syllables,
Missing the way they slam against a microphone
As I make myself heard amongst a crowd of those
Who know what it means to be beholden to this master,
To write lines of a poem the way some breathe the air,
To be so made up of adjectives and metaphors
That I no longer know where I begin and the poetry ends.
I am simply molecules and letters masquerading as a human,
Trying to become whole again on paper.
