Evening Hymn
Safrina Kabir Nov 17
We could talk for hours
Me and your silent crooked smile
Instead I see you from afar
Cascade of curls, sun-burnt skin
Familiar movement across the barn
It's my evening hymn

O stranger
Come and shape my dream

Cupid's Arrow
My heart was numb for so long
I forgot it was there
Cupid's arrow struck so hard
It beats again
And bleeds the colour
      It should always have
The red of love
It tastes so good
             The blood of heart
It hurts so bad
              The slit unstitched

Hue of blue
Safrina Kabir Apr 26
The sun seems dim in front of you
The stars don't shine the way you do
Every steps you take
Is another epitome of success
Is another hue of blue

The Brightest Star
Safrina Kabir Mar 31
Under the hood of rain today,
A shining star is slipping away.
But still, I'll be lighted by you,
The brightest star, wherever you may stay.

I am
Safrina Kabir Jan 20
I am new
I am green
I can, and I will

I am not the past
I won't be the gone
I will be the new
I am the one rose just now
Bathed from the fire of the morn

Your back
Safrina Kabir Dec 2023
I've been here before
I've seen it before
Your back
As you slowly walk away
I keep standing
For as long as I can see you
Before you fade away beyond my sight
Before tears blur my eyes.

I have learnt the art
  of hiding tears
  of putting on a smile
  of forgetting
You.
Safrina Kabir Dec 2023
What does it take
To make a leap of faith
              Trust once more
              Stand up and walk again?

Take my hand, my love
I won't let it slide
Let's walk a mile
See? Your hand fits perfectly in mine.

Sapphire of the night
Safrina Kabir Jul 2022
You bloom in the darkest hour
Comfort me in silence
My Sapphire of the night,
To see you, I wait for a moonless sky.

Nothingness
Safrina Kabir Jun 2022
Memories are pooled up in puddles
Hope's a grass of hay
Stone weight on chest
Tightening the heart
Moments are thorns of the day

The sparkling sky above the head
Brings the day a dream,
The darkness a light.
But the eyes only gaze
The endless emptiness
With no path to follow,
No place to hide.

Feathered Scarf
Safrina Kabir Jun 2022
I can see you
            Through your covered sleeves
            Long shirt
            Feathered scarf

I can feel it
             The wounds on your feet
             Bruises and cuts
             Where the scarf ends
             Where the fear starts
             The pain in your eye

What does it take
To make a leap of faith
              Trust once more
              Stand up and walk again?

FOOLS
Safrina Kabir Jun 2022
Eat,
Eat you **** fools
The best cuisine in the world
Cook a kitchen full
Eat a pea.

Spend the entire life
Stomping in union
False show of discipline, neat
Accomplish nothing.

We will change the world
Bit by bit
You watch
From the high throne
We provided

You are the kings, all-powerful
We let you believe that
So that the mouths are shut
No buzz buzz while we work

Live the lavish life we gave you
Sit on the top of your riches
Look down on us
As we write history

Hush now, no question
You have no business here
Not a play for fools
You aren't one?
Well, break the shackles
Climb down the tower
We'll decide.
The wheel of the economy runs over the hard work of working-class people. Revolution comes from the middle class and lower class people. It is proved again and again in history.

First rain of monsoon
Safrina Kabir Mar 2022
I wish you to rain
Like the first rain of monsoon.
My deserted soul,
Dried out heart,
Drench me down
Like the first rain of monsoon.
The first rain of the season is very mesmerizing in the land of Bangladesh. For the farmers it's the long waited rain after the scorching sun of summer. I am farming love for you on  my heart and waiting for you to respond.

OLD MAN AT THE BAY
Safrina Kabir Aug 2021
Isn’t it a curse to live long
Beloved friends all gone
Kiths and kins buried down
Remains their name on the stone.

Sitting alone at the bay
Hair, beard all grey
As I peep at the past
A few memories that last

Always wanted to live long
Rein the world, get the throne
Luxury, name and fame
Emperor of my own game.

Countless nights wasted on hope
Handful of moments spent for love
Hope lies in fist now
Love is nowhere to be found.

A little too late
To fear death,
A little too late
To turn around.

A faded thought still remains
A desire to be remembered
If not the name I have earned
For the deeds I have done.
An old man is sitting alone at the bay thinking about the life he lived. Reaching to this point of life , he realizes he has spent most of his youth on earning and dreaming big. Now that he achieved all that he wanted, he understands how worthless everything is. The  man is really lonely without anyone to accompany him. He is left alone ,the way he had left his family alone in the past.

Departure
Safrina Kabir Aug 2021
The last ounce of life
Flowing out through my vein
All are wasted for
Worldly gain
My love ,
Let me leave this world
Of pain

MOMENTS OF DISMAY
Safrina Kabir Jul 2021
Eyes fixed at the stars,
Feet feel the solace of earth.
Here we stand , there we stare
Passing moments of dismay.
Amidst the cold water
Lies a piece of land of warmth,
Little may it be
Yet worth of stay.
A mere try to personify life. My unsuccessful attempt seeks your guidance.

CRY
Safrina Kabir Jul 2021
CRY
I would do anything
Anything to see you cry
My baby
Your feeble hand dissappered in mine
I hate to let you die
I would do anything to make you cry
Before the dawn demise
Just once my sweet child
The pain of a mother losing  her infant has been depicted. Birth of a child in a family starts a new chapter in life. Again his death can shatter the previous.

WHY TO
Safrina Kabir Apr 2021
You tried hard
To put the broken pieces together
It stands now,
But the cracks will be there forever .

All quite,
In the silence of the night
We watch us sliding away
Every passing day.

In to your eyes
I see ocean of warmth turned into ice,
Deep inside
Desired wishes demise.

Your blank stare,
Cold nights ,
Why to live if
I do not exist .

Why to stay
If we want to go away .
Why to rebuild
When we are waiting for the end.
Time changes everything. It changes one and the way one feel. With the passage of time, the person, who once loved you , may become numb towards you. It is better to let go than burdening him with the responsibility of living with you.

Anymore
Safrina Kabir Mar 2021
I was dead inside
For so long
A piece of coal
Deep deep down

Now you watch me
Sparkling bright
Glittering fair
You cannot break me
Anymore
Sorrow and hardship can make you stronger. Like coal is transformed into diamond. Nothing and nobody can break then.

SOOTH
Safrina Kabir Mar 2021
Sky of sooth broke into rain

Fell upon me

Drowned me deep

Deep into grief
When we finally face the reality , we come to know the ugly truths of life .

Rotten
Safrina Kabir Mar 2021
Heavy air and black clouds
Covered the lovely blue sky
Maybe the sky isn't lovely at all,
Just dust , smoke and dirt
Like your rotten heart.

Words old and stale,
Pollutants running through the vein
Not a dint of space , just breath of grief
Rotten world, people rotten
And your rotten heart.

Breath, breath and breath
Till you breath no more
No dream, no hope, no life no lies
No love anymore.

I live , you smile
I die , you'll smile the same
Got no space in your rotten heart
Just a pawn in your game.
Support of the loved one helps us surpass every obstacles. Similarly, her ignorance can leave us dead inside. Everything around us then appears to be fake and polluted.

Again
Safrina Kabir Feb 2021
I am born from the ash

Every time I die.

I fall from the way

Again I try.
Failure is inevitable in the earthly life. But the one who can overcome the failure and again stand up is the successful.

Roads and rush
Safrina Kabir Feb 2021
Is it death?
It isn't that bad.
From the roads and rush
Horns and noise,
To this serenity
And eternal silence .

Time to rest
As the sun within me sets,
My time on earth ceases.

They will be fine, I hope
My love , don't you cry
Take care of my little angels

Strange reluctance
Throughout my body.
Too tired to open my eyes
But I must see this,
New world
New life.

I see the white
I hear the silence
I feel the shivering
Across my heart.

The white room
The white bed
In between
I am the living dead

This isn't death
But surely is worse.
I see their anxious eyes
Waiting for me to wake.

Truth thrown at me like pebbles
Pain that I have to take.

As the morphine
Fades away ,
Burn sharpened from
Knee to thigh.

Heart crumbles in pain
Not for the lost leg
But for the coming days.

I wish I was dead
But a burden I remain.
Road accidents are everyday incident of present world. The pain and agony of a victim of road accident is described

The rest of me
Safrina Kabir Jan 2021
I look around
And see the broken pieces of glass
The failure I have brought.

Tears in my eyes,
Blood in my hand,
Hope drains out of me
So does bleed my heart.
For the failure I have brought.

In the midst of the glass ,
A little soil is left,
Here I want to rest,
Rest for the rest.

Though a little is left,
A little life in me,
A little soil beneath,
All drained out
With the failure I have bought,

I want to rest ,
Rest for the rest of life
Rest for the rest of time.
Failure is inevitable in life . But sometimes innumerable failures and disappointment causes one to lose the last drop of hope. Again giving up is okay sometimes rather than losing everything.

Still
Safrina Kabir Jan 2021
Nights after nights
I stay awake, dreaming you

All the moments we spent together
All the  memories we shared,
You left me alone to remember
Shattering everything I cared.

Time stolen away,
Still I stand and stay.

Open my eyes and see the shore
Where we used to meet before.

Your touch saved me from the past,
Your smile brought me back to life,

Your love was my drug,
Your smell I miss the most.

All are fading away
Still I stand and stay.
When our most beloved one desserts us, everything seems lifeless. The pain intensifies a thousand time when the reason is unknown.
