Somedays I'd just rather
be alone than being with people
that make me feel lonely.

Other days I'd rather be
alone and unbothered
because I want to feel nothing,
exactly nothing at all.

Don't go into a book
expecting a sequel;

sometimes the end
is actually the end

Is a poet still a poet
If they do not write?

A journal gathering dust,
But a yearning to write.
Am I still a poet
Without my inner light?

The leaves will change
And fall to our feet
The winds will blow
Let the branches meet

Crisp morning air
To fill the lungs
Of townspeople walking
Warmed by the sun

Yet still our paths
May not yet cross
Lest we bathe
In seas of loss

The world still turns
So trapped in place
Stuck longing just
To touch your face

Once upon a time

I decided I'd design the universe

Make the stars dance according to my whims

Fry the sun in butter until

It was as golden as I wanted it to be


                            My universe lasted for a while.

Legs shaking
Heart pounding
Teeth chattering
Chest tightening
Mind racing
Kind of night

It's ok if i'm
Not your favorite chapter
You have written,
But I hope
You still smile when
You flip back to
The pages I was still a part of

I was weak
I'll admit it,
But that doesn't mean
You have rights
To play games
With my heart.
