 Jul 2020 Foreigner Soralen

I listened to this
Song last night.

Its message so simple
But deep.

It basically said
Something along the lines of...

What would it be like to
Live in a dream but never
Have been to sleep
And that my friend
Was the moment
Of your birth
I ask for galaxies and stars
I long for the moonlight and the night sky
This is loneliness
I even wish for the impossible
I dream of getting something so high
But these are the desires of my heart
This is where my soul wanders when I am asleep
And dreaming is the easiest way to get there.

What can I do but to dream?
Of a cryptic nature
The situation is fickle
A puzzling story here
Totally unpredictable
No one can quite understand
Obstacles may obstruct your path to reach higher
Filled with treacherous terrain
Go through that hazardous fire
can you sleep next to me
at night?
when all my fears
hold me tight

I want to hear you
breathing close to me
And when I wake up
you're the only
thing I want to see.
nightmares
You are like the star in the sky.
Far away and tough to climb.
Urge to touch you still alive.
Nor you can neither I,
This distance can never minify.
This distance is beyond our control...
Your love was the home,
I yearned to have.
But it turned out to be the prison,
Now I want to escape.
When love is your prison
I don't want to be a knight in shining armour.
There's dignity in scars and old leather,
The badges of a long campaign.
We are wrinkled, yes, and sunburned,
Full of crows-feet and lines.
These are trophies, my friend.
Wear them with pride.
Our grey hairs emerged in our twenties.
Why? Because we fought!
We still fight the good fight.
Walk tall with your notches and your rust!
This grey is the grey of battle-steel,
The burnish of a well-used blade.
Your life is a tale worth telling, my friend.
Please, do not think you're not beautiful.
A friend's birthday is coming up, and as per usual, she's joking/stressing about getting old. All the other poems I've posted were written ages ago. I scribbled this one literally five minutes ago and posted it before I had time to change my mind. Enjoy the lack of editing!
Counting down and up the steps
Listening for another
Weaving through the restless crowd
Sitting together
Filled to the brim
With emotions of delight and wonder
Yet lonely, so lonely
Walking down a handmade path
Stalling for time
That's already lost.
Sometimes you feel so restless and at peace in the same moment that it doesn't even seem real. Are you awake or asleep?
TO: icarus
i don’t feel anything when i look at you anymore
TO: icarus
but, sometimes, i miss your freckles like crazy
TO: icarus**
okay so maybe i lied
TO: icarus
i keep trying not to
i keep failing
TO: icarus
but i guess it’s just that
you are like no one i’ve met
TO: icarus
and it’s dumb to call you my first love
when you didn’t even love me back,
but… man, you were my first love
TO: icarus
i love(d) you so bad.
TO: icarus
and if i see you on the sidewalk,
i cross the street because i’m so afraid of brushing by you
and falling all over again
TO: icarus
i don’t think i’d be strong to crawl back out this time
TO: icarus
how dumb i was to think i’d be enough for icarus
TO: icarus
i loved icarus and he dragged me into the sun with him
TO: icarus
i loved icarus and he let me drown in the ocean,
grasping for the feathers of his wings
TO: icarus
you made me want to understand gods,
but i only knew about monsters
TO: icarus
god, you didn’t deserve the immortality
that i gave you
TO: icarus
you didn't deserve a single thing
TO: icarus
so if i’m ever the kind of poet they write biographies about
and whose work high schoolers are forced to analyze,
some underpaid english teacher
is going to have to talk about you
as the mysterious and slightly vilified figure
prevalent in my work
TO: icarus
you're in between every line
In this life
there’s an infinite amount of **** kicking’s awaiting you
That is true
Unless you’re a true loner
So chins up
There’s a silver lining to loneliness!!
