I have a poets soul,
I am willing to bleed my heart out
Onto blank paper
But the prospect
Of speaking my mind
Leaves me shaking.

This soul
Is thousands of years old,
I have lived a lifetime after lifetime
And have died a hundred times over
Yet the thought of the grave
Shakes me, inside and out.

I am the book that’s already been read & put on the shelf.
I am the first generation of ipod.
I am the broken guitar string.
I am the car that won’t start.

I am the kid sitting alone downtown at 3am.
I am the 300 year old clock that just broke again.
I am the song that finishes too soon.
Today, tomorrow; I am invisible.

I’m not sure if this should be an apology letter.
I just figure for once, I might be able to make things better.
Me; is just something you should never ask me to define.
Modern day society can make you feel like this sometimes. I myself, have felt each and every one of these analogies day after day. I thought, instead of describing and explaining each one out, I'd be better off to leave the readers feel their own versions.

Thinking your friend is in danger is like getting a phone call saying "I'm beneath your bed"

Good night
Sleep tight
Rest in peace for you're dead in your dreams

Take this poem how you like
But I urge you to step away from the knife

Life isn't that bad you know
Sure, there will be challenges so hard that you just want to give up
But don't
Stay here with me instead

Don't give up
I need you to be strong
Not everything's wrong

Don't be a quiter

If you need to lean
Lean on me
Just remember that when you fall
I will fall too

Stay strong
Stay strong for me
Because tonight I want to fall asleep knowing you will be alive and leaning on me tomorrow

✳Rather than to find myself falling with you ✳
Someone will always be falling with you
Someone will always care
Think twice before you put them in such despair

Why ask why I like your poem? Be courageous in your ideas and ideals. Be confident enough to know that your work is true to your vision. Artists of all kinds, but especially poets, are the philosophers and prophets of their generation. A revelation does not passive-aggressively seek to be worthy. It just is. Revelators, in the converse, often are compelled to seek praise with false humility via the age old pretentious depreciation of the value of their work in order to reap praise, which is the expected polite response. It is a waltz I choose to sit out. I feel it is less than honest and a disrespect to the poet and the poem to revel in such frivolity. Write for the sake of revelation, not for the accolades of topical praise. It is no business of the poet why a poem strykes chords with a reader. Simply allow it to happen. Talent and truth are not always equatable, nor are beauty and integrity always comparable. In the heart, a poet knows he is a poet. By the very construct of your words, Poet, may you be the caster of many spells. Thank-you for sharing a bit of yourself with me. I bid thee Love and Light.
I am a voracious consumer of the poetry using on this site. Just accept the compliment of a read or a like without having to examine it.

I know that I don't know you;
  All though I love you;
*I never will.

  As much as I need to;
I won't ask for more.
  Even thought it hurts;
I won't let it show.
  This doesn't feel like love;
*but you say it is so, I just let it go.
