"booking" poems
Fast food Fast cars Fast girls Fast world Fast paced Shoes laced Heightened heart rate Don't be late Sweat beading your being Aren't you tired? Your soul's taking a beating Tweeting instead of reading Face booking instead of looking up Have you forgotten how to breathe? Involuntary actions* now include refreshing your news feed The best years of our lives wasted on the internet Reblogging pictures that reflect our interests Hoping the next follower is our next best friend What happened to human interaction? We're all connected by a single thread Let's take a stand and realize this now instead of on our death beds Look up Look out Look in Lose doubts Lose sin Lose shame Open your eyes Forget the game autonomic functions

Fast World
A skateboard, Really? A ******* skateboard. It's faster, sure, But I do not have time To gather the courage I need to say "Hi" When you're already booking it Down the side walk. Chick with the purple head band, Slow down So I can get to know you.

Color Me Purple
it's only that i want to permeate particles like marie curie did. lay your lungs out on a slab and i will show you intricacies in fissures. i don't know if i want you inside me but i definitely want you inside-out. the aches come on worst in the morning and at night, hold me in those moments like marie curie would. demonstrate an interest in the unseen and i will bring you spectrometry. demonstrate an interest. voices happen all day and i am fixated. that friendly fire barely shows herself at all anymore, only in your absence, like an ill-conditioned cat. i don't know if you noticed but my boots are booking miles. my daemons feed on a seed in my back, so do not wag that tail. do not turn those beads of fleshy water, there are magnets that your cornea can't block. i'm past my half life and you've passed your lethal dose, so don't let me decay into an isotope with half my strength. i'm leaving traces on the walls you can scrape off like brown ice. don't let me decay into a softer neon. hold me tight like marie curie died.

Tribes matter more than research, jobs dished on ethnic network, as academics are left to die at the thrones of sadism and selfish megalomania, proffessors more illiterate as reading culture succumbed to death, to pave way for money culture, harvested from parallel programmes, that takes the beautiful and the academically incompetent, to the university at mercy of their wallets, where the proffessors renew their sinews, on the french chicken by parralleley style on the tops of the female parallel students, as they inspire them with new culture, of laziness, twiterature and cyborature, face-booking for unique *** partners, as books are left to be dust ridden on the miserable shelves of ramshackle libraries.

ROT IN KENYAN UNIVERSITIES
Winter is here, there is nowhere to go. I'd light up me blunt, but it'd be covered in snow. All I need is a cup of hot chocolate to hold. Me hate winter, me hate de cold. Wanna hook up wit a baety? Just wanna slay her? Too bad mon, she's wearing layer upon layer. Booking a flight for Jamaica, but they've all been sold. Me hate winter, me hate de cold. Hit up me bradda's garage to jam out. I knock on de door, he'll be there, no doubt. He's taking forever. Longer den I can withhold. Me hate winter, me hate de cold. I'm sick of dis season, it's simply the worst Only a sip of hot cocoa will quench me thirst. Dis is da coldest story that's ever been told. Me hate winter, me hate de cold. Sit back in my lounge chair like Scrooge McDuck. Reluctant to go out, cuz it's cold as **** I nag and complain, am I just gettin' old? Me hate winter, me hate de cold.

******* that was hidden away It was the Police that went astray Drug traffic throughout the housing complex The Drug Lords making the tenants feel perplexed It was the drug vibe that continued to go It was determination in drug dealing being the flow But before you knew There was a Drug bust Tenants had to stay in their apartments being a must Gunshots rang out There was commotion all about Afterwards, there was a big shout Later, the Police moved in It was the booking that would begin End of the line being drugs gone astray Justice took form on that day The drug business wasn’t the tenants ok Free to move and enjoy the outdoors of the housing complex A clean sweep in deed Now tenants lives are relieved.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
Out of concern I write. Don't judge if am wrong or right. Fundamentally, it is my right, To address an I'll that is becoming a rite. Many  swell like foam, Being pumped to boom By needle or rather ***** But in reality that are just but fume. Peer pressure is  powerful  witch. But can only enchant you if you wish. We are empowered to be the wizards of our life, To make freewill choices devoid of strife. Aunty, getting slim tea is now slim. Brother, guys are sleeping in the gym. Boss, your colleagues are booking for liposuction. I still wonder why you guys are rushing liposyn injection. Ladies with Bees made of silicon Counting themselves among the slaying lexicon, In negligence of the pains to reckon, They do whatever it takes to be a beauty icon. Smokers are liable to die young. You ignores it as if it's written in ching-chong Liposyn users are liable to kidney failure, You ignore to prove your velour. You are made from the best kit. Don't risk it all for a **** Stop thinking anticlockwise. A word is enough for the wise. Blessedinkz

Inflated baloons
I dreamed of traveling alone. Booking hotels in the middle of the night, Emptying out the piggy bank I've used since I was 9, Packing only 4 pairs of clothes, And buying a one-way ticket to somewhere. I dreamed of traveling alone. Seeing the beauty of each city, of each town, of each country. Trying out food I've never heard before, Dancing in the streets with the locals, And learning the language used in my destination. I dreamed of traveling alone. Now I'm in the middle of a street I can't pronounce, In the 18th city on my diary, watching people go on with their lives. I find them so fascinating that I could watch them all day. But I have to go, Move on to my next pinned place. My heart is filled with happiness, my mind is enchanted with how precious everything is. I dreamed of traveling alone. Now I am living my dream, And I hope this goes on.

I Dreamed of Traveling Alone
I am hard-working I am honestly speaking God's love, I am seeking Towards God I am trekking None I am mocking And at none I am barking Only truth with me I am taking I am never at all wrongly joking But I am seriously thinking God and my soul I am linking And often God I am thanking Hope and faith I am drinking When worries come I am blinking Upon God's blessings I am banking Only God I am always first ranking With His help, problems I am sinking While I am talking and walking Only deep prayers I am making With faith, at all, I am looking Via love, a place in heart, I am booking I am placed safe in this World-nest I am to live trying my level best No doubt I am showing great interest And I am never tempted to be dishonest Some wealth I am having to invest I am getting also some reasonable interest I am participating in the living-contest Every day I am facing fate's acid test I am also attacked by worry-pest Also eager I am to take rest To this World I am a guest By being robust, I am toiling with zest Often I am tackling the worst For Justice I am having a deep thirst I am having a kind heart inside my chest I am afraid by idleness I may rust My mind I am trying to properly dust I am placing God always first I am hoping God may help in my conquest I am planning to face end with no protest. Booking
Do you ever have those days When you miss someone Who you can’t let go? And, even worse, You can’t say what’s on your heart. So, it just breaks In silence, Except for vague booking On social media, i.e., Leaving a lame *** clue That your heart quietly shattered On the floor. But, being the unicorn you are, You fetch your broom, Bristles made of positive vibes, To sweep the loving mess Back under the rug. You magically summon A glass heart to hold, Just strong enough to fill it With Crown, ginger and biterness. And you smile again, loosely At some other sweet soul Whose hoodie you will use To wipe the tears that come Back later that night In the flood of missing The one you tried and failed to let go.

TS Eliot said, “Paris is a strong stimulant.” It is - but it has nothing on Manhattan. If Paris is a Café Crème espresso at a café-en-terrasse under the stars. Manhattan is a ‘Black Tie Bawls’ cocktail at The Crown bar (the skyline!). We were going to relax - in Manhattan, instead, keep those seat belts fastened. Lisa said, one night, “Want to go out for a bit?” Since then, I’ll admit, our nights have been lit.  We have ten days, and we’ve decided to try every Michelin-starred restaurant we can (there are 68 in NYC). So far, we’ve been to Eleven Madison Park, Le Bernardin and Per Se. This was Lisa’s idea. The food is delicious - if you like a corn-flake with something on it or a steak the size of a bouillon cube ($250 per person with cocktails and dessert). As we left ‘Per Se’ I asked, “Can we get something to eat now? I’m starved.” I was only ½ kidding. It’s MY idea to visit every beautix rooftop bar in Manhattan (there are exactly10). So far, we’ve been to, ‘The Peninsula,’ ‘230-Fith’’ and ‘NoMad’ - we’ve only been at these tasks for three nights. We’re doing other things too. We’re going to Broadway shows (& Juliet, the Great Gatsby, Oh Mary!, Wicked) and to see Idina Menzel (Wicked, Frozen) in concert and a John Oliver and Seth Meyers comedy show next Monday. We do these, as in - Dinner, show, rooftop bar. OH, and we’re dancin’ like we’re sentient - no cap. Our sordid troup, is Lisa and Dave (her boo), Charles & Ms Charles, Lisa’s folks (Karen and Michael) and Lisa’s little sister Leeza and Meeeee. Luckily, we have one of my Grandmère’s conglomerate, executive secretarial minions (François) booking reservations for us. He’s got ‘contacts.’ Yeah, we’re drivin’ full speed towards summer’s end - “fo-shizzle” (to quote Snoop Dogg). We figure we can rest, a few days, in New Haven. Wasn’t Snoop fire at the Olympics? . . dance club songs, for this one: One Kiss by Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa Lipstick by Kungs Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter [E] Levitating by Dua Lipa . . slang… café-en-terrasse = terrace cafe Black Tie Bawls = (cocktail) Blavod black ***** lemon, and Bawls energy drink. beautix = top drawer, rizz No cap = no lie fo-shizzle = for sure fire = great, a standout [E] = explicit

Or 'specken ze English?' Stuff that'll get you through. You want to be able to ask for a Arancia, a Birne or even a Manzana I mean your gonna need an orange a pear and an apple... well. aren't ya? Existing on what's aware and listening Quiet before speaking and always glistening Hearing words not spoken when others run a lot Seeing all that's going on when most are not She operates on a thin wavelength of beauty Hard to find for those who are too busy looking hard to feel for those wanting to wrap her up for a booking She's precious and sensitive beyond a thought Beautiful and expanding and will always be sort Surprises you when you think she couldn't know Smarter than everyone but she'll never show Withstanding enemies with her thorns Staying beautiful and never forlorn Spectacularly present with unseen pedals So soft so sweet but of the strongest metal Always precious, always special, always artistic, always talented, always the insight, always so deep, In the face of all that couldn't be wronger what doesn't **** us makes us stronger Respecting what's so precious like the morning dew Congratulations on the glory of YOU

a phone call from a parked toyota in hyde park rings my desk in guadalajara i have just settled an argument about mopeds and fat girls you're drunk, crying, hyperventilating and i am booking a flight to chicago as soon as i hear  your tenor you begged me to come charged me with childlike charm that i was guilty of loving our sister more than you, an outsider never one to be alone, you brought me home, showed me Chicago that hole in you filled now you wish i was far away so you could call in every unsunny now and then

My first sister didn’t pay her parking fine, I think maybe once or three hundred times. But my father didn’t care, Because he’s a ******* billionaire. So he’s probably sat at home on his new Iphone, Booking spontaneous trips to Rome, Whilst my third sister sits in the school foyer, Heaving for breath, Choking on a lollipop, She bought with her last pence.

My Father's a selfish man.
You annoy me very little and I hardly think it’s fair To place a box of scorpions beneath your favourite chair I so enjoy your snoring and your dodgy thyroid gland I don’t stand at your bedside with a pillow in my hand Your laughter doesn’t make me twitch or sound like mating seals So I won’t be crushing any glass to sprinkle on your meals Adorable, your litany of whys and wheres and ifs I’ll not be booking holidays near isolated cliffs I love your lack of empathy and sullen, lifeless eyes No need for poison pancakes or exploding custard pies If ever you should doubt, my love, the way I feel for you Recall this host of nasty things I’ve managed not to do Thus far…

the daily parade by the homeless shelter chow line APD central booking exit every day a new sight to see men fighting children crying women dying one needle, one vein, one hit at a time nevermind the salty tears of a dying mind long ago lost but never known enough to be forgotten nevermind the hunger pangs of the crying child too young to know this is only the beginning of the pain to come the pin ***** of the needle as it breaks the skin

The Look At Only Me Syndrome
My home lies in a distant world Unknown to me My consciousness takes me there In times of despair Where my family is always laughing And the cook’s always cooking The birds always singing And the books always, well, booking My room lies in a separate part of the house Hidden away from sight and sound My bed, the storehouse of my dreams My palace of solitude It’s there where I think It’s there where I dream It’s there where I write There where I eat ice cream But then they came And placed clocks inside my room I asked what they were for “To tell you the time, birdbrain.” Why would anyone in their right minds Want to know the time? I know when I’m hungry That’s the time I’m hungry I know when I’m sleepy That’s the time I’m sleepy What do I need clocks for? So I threw the clock out But they came again With a bigger clock this time The kind which doesn’t fit in my window sill So I gave up And thought to myself, “Well, I don’t need it. If it’s there, Let it be.” And so it was The clock kept ticking Tick tock tick tock Tick tock tick tock Tick tock tick tock Tick tock tick ******* tock Until the noise of the hand Was written in my brain In every song I sung Every thought I thunk I couldn’t make the noise go away It was taking over my life Telling me what we do When to eat and when to sleep And when to do the other stuff that I do So I broke the clock And thought it was over But the world wouldn’t give up They just couldn’t leave me alone They came one after another And put clocks in my room Every shape, every size Wristwatches, wall clocks They even got me A grandfather’s clock Until every space inside my fortress of solitude Was filled with tiny, ticking machines And every cell in my mind Became just like theirs Now I’m one of them And wear a watch wherever I go I see the time before going out I see the time when I’ve to get home I know what I’ve become I’m scared of what’s next I’m scared of the time I’ll have to put clocks In the room of a little boy Who’ll never be the same again.
