Love, a feeling of buoyancy
Resonating with frantic frequency
To the rapid rhythmic beating
of my tender heart strings
It's a source of joy and pleasure
Love is the one and only measure
Of my life's true treasure
So softly my love
Very gently my love
Let's tread through
this land of love
My hand held in thine
Seemingly sensual
Yet
Strangely divine!

As I start to sip my tea
I see the screen flash
in front of me
children killed
women *****
and left dead
here and there
it seems everywhere
the blue seas
are turning red
this unnamed terror
out to maim and slaughter
amidst a growing hate choir
the world has slowly
turned into an abattoir!

bolt of white light meets
billion droplets dancing in sunny wet skies
A garland for the Gods

Transfixed  I stand
in front of the sun catcher
daintily dispersing
the colors
of the rainbow
filling my heart
with poetry

The breeze makes
the reflections dance
and my kitten paws
the moving photons
in vain
chasing shadows
that will never be

Fleeting moments
of glee
caught by him and
me

To Him I am drawn
As I greet the daily dawn

The sonorous sounds of 'Suprabhatam'
Makes my world dance to His rhythm

Rain or shine I never place my walk on hold
For I love watching daily His marvel unfold

The little frogs that scamper across
Over the wet dark green glossy moss

I love watching the kites soar across the vast space
and the way they  land at a measured pace

I see the rains hugging the rocks as they slide
Creating a merry cascade high and wide

The brown hills now don a verdant green
Making the birds chirp and preen

How can I in my heart hold any grief
I simply enjoy Nature's play in relief.

Note: Suprabhatam: Sanskrit morning hymn to Lord Vishnu.

Unke, nigahon, se nikali, jo teer
Dil se, ** gaye, bas hum, fakir

Aasman mein, saje, kahkashan
Nek, iradon se, hua, phir nikaah

Khwab aur haqueekat, ki hui, takkar
Bechara, dil ka mausam, hua patjhar

Unke, zubaan se, ab, nikalte, hai  teer
Aur, ab,  ** gaye hai, hum,  jeb se fakir

To all those who my poems read

I wish to thank you

For you are the muse

that inspire me to say,

all that I hold in my heart everyday

I also wish to thank  all those fine poets

Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Rumi to name a few

And many many others too.

Thank you, Shukriya, Gracias, Danke Shun.

Begging, considered
an utter humility
The ultimate indignity
Giving, regarded
An act of charity
Of utmost nobility
One hand raised
The other lowered
Sheltering a kernel
Of truth on the whole
Humility, and charity
Virtues two of the soul
the seeker and the giver
are nothing but an evidence
Of divine existence!

This dichotomy of desires

To be one

Or to be one with someone

A seesaw dance of thoughts

In perpetual motion

Is the joy of balance

A mere notion?

Two thoughts

within the span of an ocean

Engulfing a storm of emotions

Demanding a resolution

Ultimately, in the end!

Misinterpretations of religions rend
Rather than mend
The fabric of social togetherness

Rites and rituals are just a way to appease
Not the Gods but the religion’s keepers
if you please

Lost is the essence of all religions true
as professed by
the possessed few

Science's chosen providence
Is to dissect the whole into pieces
In search for futile evidence

Arts bring pleasure
In glorious measure
To the artist and the art-lover

With views disparate
Hearts become desperate
Causing all to separate

Nature is a symbiotic symphony
teaching us
to coexist in harmony

Let literature and poetry
Paintings, pottery and culture
Be the unifier

Intellect is an instrument fine
But a heart’s insight is needed
To reach the soul divine

In the ocean deep corners
Of the mines of our mind
Before the first waves
of thoughts stir
Exists a rete
of sheer gossamer
That hold in remembrance
An antiquated trace
Of the origins
Of creations
Of tales untold
Upon which we lay
A language regal
And weave stories new
As this life we renew

I gaze in raptures
at your bright beautiful face
and my heart brims with joy
how lucky I am to see
the full moon every night

It is the monsoon season
My thoughts today wander
Like wayward clouds in the sky
Making me wonder

Will it rain wisdom?
Or will it rain hope?

Or will the dark clouds
lift?
Making my spirits blithe?

lost in the ******
of your green glass bangles
I watch days go by
eager to return to you
I wish for wings to fly

All that I ever wanted
Was to be by your side and to share
The sounds of the seas with you
The sea shells on the shores with you
The silences of the shining skies with you

All that I ever wanted
was to be by your side and to share
The solitude of your soul with you!

Ek din ki hai, ye, dastaan
Bichad gaye, do dil, yahan- wahan

Karvate,  badal rahi thi, dharti
Angdaiyan, le raha tha, aasman

Idhar  ** gayee thi shaam
Udhar ** gaya tha savera

Idhar  jal raha tha diya
Udhar buj gayi thi baati

Idhar ro raha tha dil mera
Udhar nagin se mil raha tha sapera!
Just written for fun, wanted to use words like angdayian and karvate

Mai ki garmee
Layee, thodi si, besharmee

Utra, chehre se, naqaab
Khul gaya, bas, dil ka kitaab

Mai ki garmee
Layee, thodi si, besharmee

Daaman se, phisla,  du-patta
Dard hua, kuch khatta, kuch meetha,

Mai ki garmee
Layee, thodi si, besharmee

Labon se saaf, hui jo laali
Dil mein, machi, bas khal bali

Mai ki garmee
Layee, thodi si, besharmee

I would rather be nutty than mundane
Prefer to derail than stay on the lane
Content to  doodle on a wet window pane
Happy to dance in sunshine or rain

Rebuked for not paying attention
I dream of a grand innovation
That can take away miseries mundane
An unspoken goal that I maintain

My pursuits may often seem inane
As I romp merrily with my Great Dane
I have nothing to lose and happiness to gain
I would rather be nutty than mundane

you stepped into my heart
and became my muse,
my poetry and my art

My  ego and I
are always
in a battle
For supremacy

My ego say's it's confidence
I call it arrogance

My ego says it's desirability
I label  it  "sheer vanity"

My ego say's it's wisdom personified
I know it as knowledge glorified

My ego says It's healthy pride
I say it's yet to be verified

Some time my ego wins
Many a time I let him lose

Who is to say
who is right?

My ego and I
are always
in a battle
For supremacy

The ocean is but a liquid sky
The sky is but an ocean dry!

Dare I then
Fly in the ocean
And swim in the sky?

I wonder
how many moons shall pass
before you breathe in
the fragrance of Jasmine,
as you unbraid my tresses
